Oil up the Guillotine, it's Miller Time!

Pull up a chair boys the real fun is about to start.
Taylor testifies that "Jumbo" Sondland called Chump from a restaurant in Kyiv, Ukraine, from a cell phone no less. An unsecured line.

A total and complete FUBAR (or is it?) that you just can't make up. Sondland may be looking at perjury charges in his future. The Russian KGB surely has
sophisticated listening devices that can capture cell phone chatter. So, he is either stupid or doesn't care.

Chump was overheard asking Sondland about the "investigations" and Jumbo says, to a Taylor staff person, that Chump only cares about the probe. Here's thye best part...Repugs keep insisting that Chump cares about corruption in Ukraine, but makes no mention of it in "the transcript." Funny, shouldn't you talk about corruption if that's your claim?

This shit just keeps getting better; and there's this:

Jim Jordan tearing into the Dems...

You can't write this stuff fast enough!

Wow!

Trump Directed Diplomat to Ask Ukraine to Probe Biden in Overheard Cellphone Call.

In a jaw-dropping operational security lapse, President Donald Trump discussed his demand for Ukraine to open investigations of Joe Biden and other Democrats in a cellphone conversation with an American diplomat who was in a restaurant in Ukraine at the time, the House impeachment inquiry was told on Wednesday.

During that call with Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, Trump spoke so loudly about “the investigations” that someone in the restaurant who was not on the phone could hear his words, according to Bill Taylor, the senior American diplomat in Ukraine.

It is highly likely that others were listening too. Russia’s intelligence services have previously demonstrated the capability to intercept the phone calls of American diplomats in Ukraine and make recordings that can be used to compromise or embarrass those officials.

After the call, Taylor said, “The member of my staff asked Ambassador Sondland what President Trump thought of Ukraine. Ambassador Sondland responded that President Trump cares more about the investigations of Biden, which Giuliani was pressing for.”

Ambassador’s cellphone call to Trump from Kyiv restaurant was a stunning breach of security, former officials say

A U.S. ambassador’s cellphone call to President Trump from a restaurant in the capital of Ukraine this summer was a stunning breach of security, exposing the conversation to surveillance by foreign intelligence services, including Russia’s, former U.S. officials said.

The call — in which Trump’s remarks were overheard by a U.S. Embassy staffer in Kyiv — was disclosed Wednesday by the acting U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, William B. Taylor Jr., on the dramatic opening day of public impeachment hearings into alleged abuse of power by the president.

The Seven Ways Wednesday’s Hearing Clarified Trump’s Real Motives

1. The consistency question. One measure of the president’s sincerity is whether he demands investigations of corruption everywhere it exists, or only in Ukraine. In the hearing, Republicans failed to name any other country in which Trump has applied such pressure. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, an Illinois Democrat, asked one of the witnesses, acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor, whether “irregular channels of diplomacy” like the one Trump deployed in Ukraine had been used by the administration anywhere else in the world. “I’ve not heard of any other separate channel that has this kind of influence,” said Taylor.

2. The reform gap. Taylor and George Kent, the deputy assistant secretary of state responsible for Ukraine, testified that U.S. anti-corruption policy traditionally focuses on building honest institutions: police, investigators, prosecutors, and courts. Kent described specific steps to advance this mission in Ukraine. Republicans offered no evidence that Trump ever expressed interest in these steps. Rep. Adam Schiff, the committee’s Democratic chairman, noted that Trump, in his call with Zelensky, never mentioned the principal reforms in Ukraine: “setting up an anti-corruption court or looking into corruption among oligarchs or companies in general.” Schiff pointed out that Trump instead pressed Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and other Democrats. Kent confirmed this account of the call.

3. The Yovanovich ouster. Kent testified that Marie Yovanovitch—the U.S. ambassador Trump removed from Kyiv after she opposed the partisan meddling of Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani—had fought resolutely against corruption in Ukraine. Republicans didn’t even try to present a more charitable explanation for her removal. Instead, Republican Rep. John Ratcliffe of Texas argued that “all ambassadors serve at the pleasure of the president” and that it wasn’t an abuse of power “to remove an ambassador for political reasons because you don’t like what they’re doing.” This line of argument all but concedes Trump’s crooked motives.

4. The Pentagon certification. Republican Rep. Chris Stewart of Utah said the president was entitled to suspend aid to Ukraine based on the National Defense Authorization Act. “Availability of funds under assistance to the Ukraine—it has to be certified,” Stewart observed, quoting the law. “And what has to be certified? Quote, ‘For the purposes of decreasing corruption.’ ” But Kent pointed out that “the secretary of defense had already certified that that conditionality had been met.” By ignoring this certification, Trump proved his talk of corruption was insincere.

Here's the thing: Impeaching this orange turd MUST be done. Now, I know and you know that the republicans in the senate will suck trump's dick 'til the bitter end. That's a given.

But will I ever admit that I was wrong about removing the scumbag from office?
In a word: No.

Why? There is no wrong in what I believe this sick fuck has done since entering office. You think he's a "very fine person" - that is your right.

Yeah. But meanwhile, nothing has actually happened in the last few days, and at 44.4% on the aggregate, Trump's Job Approval is now dangerously close to being higher than it has been for a year.

44.4% is only 1% lower than Barack Obama was at the exact same time of the first term of his presidency, and Obama wasn't in the midst of an impeachment inquiry or a 3 year campaign by the Legacy Media attempting to discredit him 24/7 with baseless smears and hoaxes. Quite the contrary, the LM was kissing his ass that entire time.

If that 44.4% were to hold out for another day, it would be .3% less than Obama at the same time. If it holds out for 2 more days, it will be .8% more than Obama at the same time. Of course, if Trump's numbers continue to improve, those numbers look even better for him.

45% is basically a lock for re-election in any scenario. They better pull something huge out of their ass out of all of this, or that number will only continue to climb. Possibly in the realm of 50%.

Dude. I, personally, lived through that in Illinois. I lost the best job of my life at 20 years old when my boss and owner of the company was in the chain of fish that was an effort to oust corrupt Governor George Ryan from office. It was a massive success, if you didn't count the thousands, perhaps 10's of thousands of lives that were negatively impacted right before 9/11 when the economy really started to go into a nosedive that it has never fully recovered from since.

Then what did they do?

They replaced him with corrupt Governor Rod Blagojevich who did virtually the same goddamned thing that Ryan was ousted for.

Not that it is ever going to happen. Emphasis on EVER. And I obviously do not share any of your negative opinions that you hold about Trump...

But for a minute let's just say that I was completely on board with it all and fighting right along side of you here. I'm honestly wondering if you really believe that a successful removal of Trump from office is going to change a single thing in the long haul.

I said an aggregate, which is a combination of a recent series of polls. I use the RCP aggregate whenever I look at polling data.

Here's Trump's aggregate, between July 1st and December 31st of 2019: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_trump_job_app
roval-6179.html

Here's Obama's, between July 1st and December 31st of 2011: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_obama_job_app
roval-1044.html

[EDIT: It occurs to me that you probably have to put in the dates yourself. RCP is frequently updating all of its polling data and constantly refreshing the site. The dates can be entered in the bottom of the graph for you to make any comparisons you'd like between any candidates that you'd wish to compare. It doesn't look as though you can share exact date ranges with others via a link and you would have to take screenshots and upload the pictures somewhere if you wanted to do that directly. Easy enough to do on your own though. Just had to apologize that I can't give you links to the specific dates because of how the site is designed is all.]

One would assume that it would, if they didn't read that when I speak of the polls I always say that they have an intentional agenda and bias in their obviously flawed methodology that you can find yourself if you look into the methodology of the polls themselves and you're being completely honest with yourself.

No. I don't for a second believe that Trump's approval is only 44% right now. It is higher than that, but the real proof of my belief here is not going to be realized until the results of the 2020 election. I'm a patient man. I can wait.

But what I've also said when using the aggregate of polls is that I do so to monitor changes and trends overall. This is the true value of any aggregate of historic polling data that RCP has collected over the years and continues to collect.

The actual number itself is not where the true meaning lies, and it doesn't even matter if it's true or not. It's just the base point to work off of. But when you monitor and track this data and you have that base point to work from, you can see the general trends of the past and of the future.

You can't really just look at a few days and say that something is working for or against somebody with them. You can get a pretty large gain or drop in a single day just by virtue of a single poll being updated with a wildly different number than the last time that poll came out.

You can, however, take a much longer segment of time and get a larger picture of things.

Trump seems to have made a relatively meaningful improvement back in May of 2018 that has kept him more or less at an average of 43.5% in the aggregate ever since, which would be around a full 2 percentage points of where he was in the six months preceeding May of 2018.

And 43/44%? Does it sound great? No. Not really. But that speaks more to the division across the nation than it does the President himself. During the last 6 months, despite all of the negative press and the bashing from Democrats, Trump and Obama have been going back and forth as to who has the higher approval rating on that same day of their respective presidencies.

I mean, look at Nancy Pelosi's aggregate: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/nancy_pelosi_favorableu
nfavorable-6673.html#polls

She wishes she could hold and maintain a 43/44% rating.

In the past 1 1/2 years I only count 10 out of hundreds of polls where she reached 43 and none of them were higher than 45. She's never come close in the last year and a half to the approval average that Trump currently holds, and right now, in the middle of an impeachment trial that Democrats have been calling three years for she can't even manage any more than a 37.6%?

Do Right, Be Right. :)

No. I don't for a second believe that Trump's approval is only 44% right now. It is higher than that, but the real proof of my belief here is not going to be realized until the results of the 2020 election. I'm a patient man. I can wait.

Ah, good. Then we shall see, won't we? I'll be the first to congratulate you (if I'm ever so lucky to be alive next year, so consider this THAT).

Democrats invite Trump to testify in impeachment inquiry

Pushing back against accusations from the president that the process has been stacked against him, Pelosi said Trump is welcome to appear or answer questions in writing, if he chooses.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer echoed that suggestion.

“If Donald Trump doesn’t agree with what he’s hearing, doesn’t like what he’s hearing, he shouldn’t tweet. He should come to the committee and testify under oath. And he should allow all those around him to come to the committee and testify under oath,” Schumer told reporters. He said the White House’s insistence on blocking witnesses from cooperating begs the question: “What is he hiding?”

I'm not listening to anyone. I'm also not accusing you of drinking either. I was just honestly concerned about the way you worded that. I believe that sometime at the height (or low) of my drinking getting out of control that I said some stupid shit like I was going to kill myself if Hillary won. Until I managed to somehow "flip a switch" and get out of that horribly self-destructive pattern I was in, I was just looking for any old excuse to do it. If I wasn't telling people I was going to kill myself, I was telling them that I had a terminal illness.

If you say you're cool, you're cool. I won't read any deeper into it. Just be careful.

No they won't. We're not going to take any more illegals in though, and DACA will be ended, so no more anchor babies. GTFO, and good riddance.

Again. This isn't a Trump invention. The quality of life in America has been on a steep downward slope for two decades straight. Inflation essentially doubles the cost of goods and services over the course of 20 years. In that time period since 1999, wages have been completely flat-lined while natural inflation occurred, gas prices went up at a much faster rate due to outside influences and healthcare costs have spiraled out of control (hastened by the ACA, but by no means caused by it).

That being said, it could be argued that the economy has improved since Trump took office. I won't make that argument, since I believe that any positive thing that happens in our economy these days is just optics, and basing things around bubbles that just haven't burst yet. Our entire system from the DOW Jones to Insurance is just a bunch of Ponzi schemes.

But, at least for now, there are a lot more jobs out there than there were 5 years ago.

America will be a mere shell of itself, and Trump's "people" will be driving it into the ground. China and Russia will be fighting for the leftovers, and for world domination.

It's already in the ground dude. Everything you're claiming will happen already has happened before Trump even took office.

And what do we do to right the ship? Nothing. We can't even be bothered to teach our kids the Metric System in school to prepare them for this Global Economy we made for ourselves. Sending out a bunch of retards into the world with their basic math skills stunted by an out of date and inferior system of math that makes them non-competitive in the marketplace.

We can't even be bothered to teach them a foreign language or two when they're young and would cling to it either. Anybody I've ever met online from other countries that don't speak English natively can read, write and speak at least basic English (even if things like idioms go over their heads).

Sure. You need to put more research into it though.

Or don't. I'm sure that it will be a hit with Rachel Maddow and her cult followers as-is.

An overwhelming 70% of Americans think President Donald Trump’s request to a foreign leader to investigate his political rival, which sits at the heart of the House of Representatives' impeachment inquiry, was wrong, a new ABC News/Ipsos poll finds.

A slim majority of Americans, 51%, believe Trump’s actions were both wrong and he should be impeached and removed from office. But only 21% of Americans say they are following the hearings very closely.

But only 351 days from November 18, 2019 to November 3, 2020. Election Day. We might even get a look at Trump's tax returns before then. Maybe only page 1 and 2 of his form 1040. The first page is his income and the second page is his tax. He does not have to wait for the unbelievable "neverending audit" to conclude before sharing those two pages. That's only 16 sheets of paper, 8 sheets if printed double sided, for the last 8 years of his taxes.

A desperate attempt to distract, downplay and ridicule the Inquiry. Republicans have nothing substantive to go on, so they "pound the table"
in hopes that something, anything, will come to the fore.

Deflect and distract, that's the ticket.

Their aim is to continue fooling those 'poor unfortunate souls' that make up the Trumpsters/MAGA crowd. They have nothing, so it's going to be interesting
tomorrow morning. Pay not attention to the man behind the curtain, all you will see is an empty response with nothing to support it.

There might be a Supreme Court case covering that exact subject. Lower Courts keep ordering Trump to reveal his tax returns and Trump keeps bumping the case upward and delaying. While a candidate, Trump promised hundreds of times that he would reveal all his taxes. This has been in court because of those promises.

Chief Justice John Roberts issued the order Monday, calling for a stay on a ruling from the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals that allowed for the House Oversight Committee to obtain the information from accounting firm Mazars USA. Roberts put the ruling on hold after Trump filed an application with the high court. The House had agreed for a temporary stay while they file briefs in the matter. The Supreme Court gave them until Nov. 21. The subpoena will remain blocked while the Supreme Court decides whether or not to hear the case.

www.foxnews.com/politics/supreme-court-temporarily-blocks-release-of-t

Then there is the part about millions of millionaires/billionaires realizing they can cheat on their taxes the same as Trump. That cheating, thanks to Trump's example, has cost the country an extra $trillion. When Trump is finally forced to pay, others will stop cheating.

Trump’s Retribution Against the Washington Post Owner Is His Gravest Abuse of Power

The saga of President Trump’s reprisals against Amazon has lurked on the margin of the news, largely overshadowed by the Ukraine scandal. Late Thursday night, Amazon revealed it had filed a protest in federal court of a Pentagon decision to deny it a $10 billion cloud-computing contract, the most recent piecemeal iteration of a saga that attracted precious little media attention even before the Ukraine scandal obscured it.

Yet the story here is almost certainly a massive scandal, probably more significant than the Ukraine scandal that spurred impeachment proceedings. Trump improperly used government policy to punish the owner of an independent newspaper as retribution for critical coverage. It resembles the Ukraine scandal because it is a flagrant abuse of power, and has been hiding in plain sight for months (as the Ukraine scandal did, until a whistle-blower report leaked in September). The scale of the abuse, though, is far more serious, because it is a concrete manifestation of Trump’s authoritarian ambitions.

Coverage of this story has implicitly extended Trump the benefit of the doubt by treating his hatred of Amazon’s owner and the Defense Department’s decision to spurn Amazon as presumably disconnected.

But the two are connected.
