Do you ever watch RT?

Its interesting that they are much slicker than the GoP propaganda outlets. Insted uv being blatantly partisan they seem to prezent mostly true and unbiased stuff. Unlike Fox, RT iz careful to not squander its credibility.

The entire USA is at Trump's fingertips, yet Trump celebrated Obamacare repeal by lying about what the bill does. Unless he is crazy, he has to know he is lying.

At the Rose Garden victory press conference following the House’s passage of the American Health Care Act, Trump precisely explained Trumpcare.

“I'm telling you, no matter where I went,” he said, “people were suffering so badly with the ravages of Obamacare.” But thanks to AHCA, he promised, people will see relief.

“Your premiums,” he said, “they're going to start to come down.”

Back in the bad old days of the Affordable Care Act, “when it comes to deductibles they were so ridiculous that nobody got to use their current plan.”

But, Trump insisted, help is on the way. “Make no mistake about it,” he said, “make no mistake. I think most importantly, yes, premiums will be coming down. Yes, deductibles will be coming down.”

People who believe Trump claims are in for a rude awakening.

But the AHCA doesn’t do either of those things. After all, how could it? The heart of the bill is a $600 billion tax cut for affluent households and health industry corporations. The bill contains no reforms to the American health care payment or delivery systems. All it does is shift money around, largely by taking it away from subsidizing health coverage for older, sicker, and poorer people and plowing it into tax cuts. It eliminates a 3.8 percent tax that applied to capital gains, dividend, and interest income for families with $250,000 or more in income ($125,000 for singles). It eliminates a 0.9 percent tax on wage income in excess of $250,000 a year ($200,000 for unmarried people).

The problem is that Trump is actually governing and needs to worry about what his policies actually accomplish. Whether AHCA passes the Senate or not, the general trend toward higher premiums and deductibles is going to continue in for the foreseeable future. If AHCA passes, the trend will tend to accelerate rather than slow.

And people will be angry — and rightly so — that the president broke his promises to them. Is Trump nuts for making claims about Trumpcare that are not true?

But maybe Trump is depending on you not remembering in a year what he promised now about Trumpcare? Then he is nuts to have saved his remarks on a website run by the Whitehouse. www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2017/05/04/remarks-president-trump

". . . can't distinguish the difference". That certainly covers what goes on here about 99% of the time. Just to give an example of lying that does not involve Trump, but does involve Trumpcare:
Quote:

Idaho congressman Raul Labrador is facing the ire of his constituents over his vote in favor of the Republican health care bill this week. During a Friday morning town hall, Labrador refuted a voter’s claim that losing health insurance is a death sentence. “That line is so indefensible,” Labrador said. “Nobody dies because they don’t have access to health care.”

Research has consistently linked being uninsured to higher mortality rates. One example in Labrador’s district: 36-year-old Idaho Falls resident Jenny Steinke, who died of an asthma attack in 2015 after being unable to treat her condition due to a lack of insurance.

https://qz.com/977779

In the USA, there is only a single theoretical penalty for lying, paid only at the next election, and often not even then because the old lies have been forgotten. At fireflyfans.net there is never a next election, never a penalty for lying, and the Republicans here know it and follow lying Labrador's example of accusing their accusers of being liars.

YES! We agree on something!

===========

As far as "truth" is concerned, people tend not to think about inconvenient truth. So despite all of the evidence of a "deep state's" existence (brought to you over the years by whistleblowers who've sacrificed for bringing you the signal) and the cabal of an "intelligence community" which operates mostly for its own power, privilege, and money, you pretty much plug your ears and refuse to think about the consequences about the situation and how it distorts our political and policy process.

Here, a lot of the time. Friends and family. Maybe I stumble upon something when I am looking at something I'm actually interested in online...

The politicians on either side are liars, and the so-called journalists that tow either line are no better. I base my belief of things off of life experiences, the experiences of people I care about, books I've read by actual talented people that can use their brain without some overpaid talking head telling them what to think.

I've been known to change my mind about things. When I look around here, I see that I'm pretty much the only one who does that. I think that's because most of the time you guys only listen to crap that you want to hear and dismiss all the rest as bullshit. I'm of the mind that 90% of the stuff either side says is bullshit already.

I don't know where you get that I'm a Right Wingnut though...

Let's see...

1. I do not deny that we're trashing the planet.
2. I support gay marriage as long as you don't force any church to recognize or perform it if it doesn't want to.
3. I'm for ending the war on drugs and everything that comes along with it... especially emptying our prisons of non-violent offenders who were just providing a service.
4. I'm for abortion even though I do personally believe it's murder. I don't believe the government should have a role in that choice at all.
5. I'm for reducing military spending and withdrawing our troops EVERYWHERE.
6. I'm 100% against the Patriot Act and all of the civil liberties it has helped break or just flat out destroy.
7. I'm very much hoping that alternative energy sources break the financial barrier to where we embrace them over using fossil fuels without the need for government subsidies.... saving our planet as well as cutting ties to our foreign dependencies.
8. I'm in agreement that the minimum will need to be raised if no other measures are taken because inflation has made the minimum wage job all but worthless.

I can go on....

What? Because I can't stand Rachel Maddow and I believe I have a right to own a firearm I suck Limbaugh's dick?

Whistleblowers.

They sacrifice their paychecks and quite often their freedoms to bring you information that they believe is vital but secret. So, have you thought at all about what Manning, Assange, Snowden, Binney, and the dozens of other whistleblowers are trying to tell you? Either the Senate can insist on replacing the FBI's Comey with a credible new leader who will continue its Trump/Russia investigation and follow the evidence wherever it leads, or it can tacitly accept Trump’s blatant effort to derail the inquiry.

Trump wrote, “While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the bureau.” That sentence is likely to be parsed in days to come, and no FBI agent is dumb enough to miss its logic. It’s a formulation in which "effectively" leading the bureau is linked to not investigating Trump.

Those words are the stuff obstruction of justice is made of. Trump announced that he was beginning the search for a new FBI head. The nominee will require Senate confirmation, which is shaping up as a major test for the Senate. Republican senators have been playing along with Trump's diversionary tactics meant to muddy the Russia probe (trying to change the subject to press leaks, for instance). But now the burden is squarely on them to stand up for the integrity of the FBI and the Russia investigation.

And firing the head of the FBI wasn't stupid? White House insiders were happy to confirm that the Comey firing was all about Russia. This directly contradicts the White House narrative that it was about the fact that everyone had lost confidence in Comey because of the way he mistreated poor Hillary Clinton. Who are these people who work for Trump but are happy to undermine him to the press on a regular basis? Trump needs a loyalist to head the FBI and his family is the only place he can find them, now that Trump told the whole world he did commit a crime that the FBI has not yet gathered enough evidence to convict Trump for. Only a certifiable Trump loyalist/FBI Director could guarantee that the FBI can't collect more evidence against Trump.

Maybe putting a family member in would be the smart thing for Trump to do, especially if he is guilty. It definitely wouldn't look good for him if he did it though, and I think it would even raise a lot of eyebrows of people who voted for Trump.

I thought you were asking why I wasn't asking for that to happen.

I don't know about Gowdy, but a couple of you regular left wingers have applauded efforts made by and things that Jason Chaffetz has said about the whole Trump/Russia thing in the last few weeks. I like the guy, personally. I like both of them. I think they're about as close to "honest" as a politician can get.

I also think it would be a good thing for the American people if one of them were to take the seat. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think either of them would back down in the Trump investigations if there really are ties with Russia, which would please Democrats, and they aren't anything close to progressive either, so it wouldn't be a Republican witch hunt either, which would please Republicans.

Donald Trump Is In the Early Stages of Dementia

Jonah Goldberg points out the following Trump timeline:
www.nationalreview.com/corner/447538/trump-claims-he-coined-prime-pump

2016: “Well, sometimes you have to prime the pump,” he says. “So sometimes in order to get jobs going and the country going, because, look, we’re at 1% growth.”

Late 2016: "We are also going to lower our business tax rate from 35 percent all the way down to 15 percent. That’s going to be big. Going to prime the pump. Got to prime the pump."

Today: "We have to prime the pump....Have you heard that expression used before? Because I haven’t heard it. I mean, I just...I came up with it a couple of days ago."

This is not good. "What is the right way to interpret Trump’s statement that he coined the phrase 'prime the pump' a few days ago?" asks Goldberg. Unfortunately, I think we all know the answer: Trump is 70 years old and his cognitive skills are deserting him. The evidence for this is becoming scarily abundant.

Trump has a history of emphatically denying that he has any monetary connection to Russia. In January, he tweeted: “NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA - NO DEALS, NO LOANS, NO NOTHING!” His lawyers’ new admission of the “few exceptions” indicates this blanket denial was false. The letter written by Sherri Dillon and Willie Nelson, Trump’s tax lawyers at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, is dated March 8.

According to Dillon and Nelson, those exceptions include Russian fertilizer kingpin Dmitry Rybolovlev purchasing a South Florida mansion for $95 million in 2008; the 2013 Miss Universe contest held in Moscow, which earned $12.2 million in income; and “ordinary course sales of goods or services to Russians.” No documentary evidence was provided to prove that these are Trump’s only sources of income from Russians.

“Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets,” Donald Trump Jr. said at a Russian real estate conference in 2008. “We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.” And a sports writer recently reported that Eric Trump, another son of the president, said in 2014 that the family had access to $100 million from Russian banks. “Well, we don’t rely on American banks,” Eric Trump said at the time, according to the writer. “We have all the funding we need out of Russia.” (Eric Trump denied the quote. Like father, like son.)

The incidental “sales of goods or services to Russians” was no small sum. Russians spent nearly $100 million to purchase condos in seven buildings licensing the Trump name in South Florida, according to Reuters. Trump received a commission on all sales in the buildings, likely somewhere between 1 percent and 4 percent. This would mean Trump received between $1 million and $4 million in income from Russian purchasers.

Trump thrives on drama, particularly drama he creates.

“They shouldn’t be allowed to use sources unless they use somebody’s name,” Trump thundered in a speech in February. “Let their name be put out there.” A few weeks later, Trump met in the Oval Office with news anchors who attributed his comments to a “senior administration official.” Indeed, the president frequently calls reporters — Americans he describes as “enemies of the people” — on “background,” doling out dollops of “anonymous” information.

Then there is his zigzagging on policies and his failure to provide a consistent philosophical or policy agenda beyond “Make the boss look good.”

We start the new week off with more Liberal BS and a very high chance of bitching and moaning. Nothing new here, as that's been the weekly forecast ever since the middle of November.

Stay tuned for more baseless accusations by "anonymous sources" that we completely made up, right after a word from our sponsors.

On Twitter it is common to see people dismiss any inconvenient leak as “fake news” — the president’s favorite term for any inconvenient or unflattering coverage. What seems lost on his knee-jerk defenders is that these leaks are coming from the president’s own handpicked team.

Are you worried that Trump is coming unglued? But medical help is possible. I saw a Public Service Announcement:

Do you have a friend or relative who's having a lot more "senior moments" than they used to? Your doctor has ways to diagnose what's really going on. She can perform neurological exams, mental status tests, mood assessments, and, in cases where the patient has unusually heavy responsibilities that make it especially important to get a firm diagnosis, brain imaging scans that distinguish between healthy neurons and diseased neurons.

In patients who are showing signs of dementia, brains scans will show a buildup of amyloid plaque that destroys the tau proteins that keep the brain's messaging system running smoothly. The result is disintegrating microtubules and tangled nerve cells.

Don't worry: insurance will cover the cost of these tests if you work for a large employer like the federal government. So keep an eye out for the warning signs:

Isolation from friends, note 1
Irritability and unpredictable fits of temper, note 2
Poor judgment, note 3
Difficulty speaking plainly, note 4
Trouble understanding visual images like maps, note 5
Difficulty planning things, note 6
Memory lapses. note 7

Nope.

6 months since the election and the SJW parade is finally dying down. Feminist wack-jobs like Anita Sarkeesian and Laci Green went silent after posting their big cry's and videos like "The Trumpocalypse". Anita stopped pretending to be a gamer and changing video games. Laci Green actually recently posted a video reaching out to the "other side". I haven't seen any "Hate White Males" stuff coming out of MTV for a while.

I'm sure they didn't change their minds on anything. There's just no money in it anymore. People are bored of their bullshit. If nothing else, Trump became a bigger target for their hate so they have been forced to turn their noxious and invasive natures elsewhere.

Funny story about Trump's sex life:

In 1997, during one of his routine appearances on the Howard Stern radio show, he bragged that he had avoided sexually transmitted diseases during his single years after his second divorce. “It’s amazing, I can’t even believe it. I’ve been so lucky in terms of that whole world, it is a dangerous world out there,” Trump said. “It’s like Vietnam, sort of. It is my personal Vietnam. I feel like a great and very brave soldier.”

And in 1993, Trump told Stern that American men — like him — who did not serve in the actual war in Vietnam had no reason to feel guilty. The AIDS epidemic that struck in the 1980s made dating a potentially fatal game: “Dating is like being in Vietnam. You’re the equivalent of a soldier going over to Vietnam.”

Using a war that killed 58,000 Americans and an estimated 10 times as many Vietnamese civilians as a metaphor for his sex life was disturbing enough when Trump was a regular civilian. Now that he is commander-in-chief of the armed forces, it becomes all the more so.

Trump did something even crazier:

Islamaphobe Picked to Write Speech on Islam for Saudi Arabia

Yesterday the White House announced that President Trump will deliver a speech about Islam when he visits Saudi Arabia this weekend. This sounded very, very bad, sort of like the Ayatollah Khamenei dropping by Wittenberg to deliver a speech about Christianity. Still, maybe we're overreacting. After all, it's not as if Trump is going to write the speech himself. It will probably be drafted by regional experts in the State Department who are able to navigate the minefields of—

Donald Trump Said Saudi Arabia Was Behind 9/11. Now He’s Going There on His First Foreign Trip.

As a presidential candidate, he spent much of the election campaign needling, critiquing, denouncing and even threatening the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Yet as president, he is making his first foreign visit this weekend to … the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Trump, to put it mildly, is no stranger to the shameless U-turn. Still, the Trump Turnabout on Saudi Arabia is a true sight to behold.

Twice in a single day, Trump accused Saudi Arabia of being behind the 9/11 attacks. “Who blew up the World Trade Center?” Trump asked his pals at Fox and Friends on the morning of February 17, 2016. “It wasn’t the Iraqis, it was Saudi — take a look at Saudi Arabia, open the documents.”

At a campaign event in South Carolina later that day, he again cited “secret papers” that could prove it was “the Saudis” who were in fact responsible for the attacks on 9/11. “It wasn’t the Iraqis that knocked down the World Trade Center … because they have papers in there that are very secret, you may find it’s the Saudis, okay?”

Trump is a product of America’s culture of impunity for the rich

The entire culture of civil fines and settlements without admission of wrongdoing that dominates American business regulation is fundamentally odd. If the rules say you can’t keep your casino afloat with an unapproved loan and you respond to that by getting a shady secret unapproved loan to keep your casino afloat, shouldn’t you be out of the casino game? If compliance with money laundering rules is mandatory and you don’t comply, shouldn’t you be shut down?

Any given case obviously presents its nuances, and not every case can be taken to the mattresses. But the settlement racket too easily lets regulators feel like they’re putting points on the board even while criminals continue to roam the streets, having learned the lesson that they’re untouchable. That, fundamentally, is Trump’s problem. Not that he can’t control himself, but that he’s been taught he doesn’t have to.

Trump is typical, rather than unusual, in enjoying this kind of slap-on-the-wrist approach to white-collar crime — just ask the executives whose banks reached big-ticket settlements with the Obama Justice Department all while seeing share prices and compensation packages rise, with nobody’s business ruined and no individuals held legally responsible.

He stands out from the pack, essentially, in how deeply he embraces the ethic of impunity, bragging about it to Billy Bush or screwing over small-time contractors as a routine business practice.

None of this is the action of an impulsive toddler or of a senile old man. It is the calculation of a veteran — and rather cunning — operator who has gotten far in life by relying on money, connections, and lawbreaking to keep him afloat.

I wasn't there. I'll give it 50/50 that it actually happened or didn't, just like I pretty much give everything else.

That is one of the problems of colleges today though, and the twisted ultra SJW libtard mentality and the rise of social media websites where young popular youtubers yell "Fuck Trump" on a daily basis when they aren't setting fires on the streets or college campuses.

If the spitting image is nothing but a hoax, things like these make them more believable today.

I think any judgement about this should be reserved until we actually know what the trip is about. I think it's safe to say that we won't have pictures of Trump bowing before foreign leaders like Obama did.

“Okay, he fired Comey,” the official conceded. “With a semi-competent comms operation, that would blow over in 24 hours. And that’s the worst part: he has a competent comms staff. But they can’t do their jobs because he keeps running his mouth.”

....Trump’s repeated media missteps have frustrated even longtime supporters. “Every day he looks more and more like a complete moron,” said one senior administration official who also worked on Trump’s campaign. “I can’t see Trump resigning or even being impeached, but at this point I wish he’d grow a brain and be the man that he sold himself as on the campaign.”

Asked whether an administration staff change-up would ameliorate this latest crisis, a Republican source formerly involved with a pro-Trump political group told The Daily Beast, “yes, if it comes with a frontal lobotomy for Trump.”

Remember, these are people who are on Team Trump.

I am so hoping that Trump sends written orders to his Attorney General and his temporary head of the FBI to open investigations into the crimes of Hillary and Obama. That won't get Trump into any more trouble than sending written orders to the media and the CIA to, say, waterboard confessions from his political enemies.

....Trump’s repeated media missteps have frustrated even longtime supporters.

I'm personally loving all of this. The big shots in politics on both sides are pissing their pants right now because they don't know what to think or even if they'll have a job tomorrow.

It's nice seeing them get a taste of what most of us have at least had to go through once in our lives when the company we worked for was going out of business or jobs were being slashed and sent overseas.

I don't think there really is a "Team Trump".

I believe that the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller is actually great news for Trump in the short and medium term. If he plays it right, he can do what Bill Clinton did, which is to say, ‘I want to talk about the investigation, but we have to wait and see what the investigators come up with.’ That would give Trump some breathing room.

The problem, of course, is that Trump is going to be Trump. He will probably fire Mueller and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller, which will pour more gasoline on the fire that is burning Trump at the stake. He is already tweeted about being burned at the stake in a witch hunt.

Trump doesn't actually feel any fire. He's writing that for the pro-Trump nuts that read all of his tweets and take them at face value. He's probably writing that for all of the Anti-Trump nuts that read all of his tweets and take them at face value too.

He's the "Howard Stern" of the Presidency. Whether you love him or hate him, everybody is paying attention.

Just remember that the insanity of the Left over the last 8 years and the option of Hillary as the other candidate is what got him elected. It's kind of a "you asked for it, you got it" scenario.
