n-in-official-unpaid-position

WASHINGTON — Ivanka Trump is officially joining her father’s administration as an unpaid employee, after her plans to serve in a more informal capacity were questioned by ethics experts.

The first daughter announced Wednesday that she will serve as an unpaid employee in the White House, saying she had “heard the concerns some have with my advising the President in my personal capacity.” She added that she has been “working in good faith with the White House Counsel and my personal counsel to address the unprecedented nature of my role.”

The news about Ivanka Trump was first reported by The New York Times. A White House official said her title will be Assistant to the President.

In a statement, the White House said it was “pleased that Ivanka Trump has chosen to take this step in her unprecedented role as First Daughter and in support of the President. ”

Trump previously announced she was getting a West Wing office and a security clearance, but would not officially join the administration. That decision had drawn criticism from ethics experts.

Several attorneys and government watchdog leaders last week wrote a letter to White House counsel Don McGahn asking him to reconsider his approval of Ivanka Trump serving her father without becoming an official government employee. Such a designation carries with it the requirement to follow an array of transparency and ethical provisions, including a law prohibiting conflicts of interest.

Trump had said she’d voluntarily follow such provisions.

Norman Eisen, who was President Barack Obama’s ethics counselor, was among those who signed the letter. He said that “for a change in what has largely been an ethics disaster, the White House came to their senses. Let’s hope it doesn’t turn out to be an isolated moment of sanity.”

Fred Wertheimer, president of the government watchdog group Democracy 21 and a co-writer of the letter to McGahn, said he commended Ivanka Trump for formalizing her status. “Democracy 21 praises Ms. Trump for her decision, which recognizes that it would have been wrong for her to function as a White House employee and not be subject to the same rules that apply to other White House employees,” he said in a statement.

Ivanka Trump’s attorney Jamie Gorelick said she will file the financial disclosures required of federal employees and will be bound by official ethics rules.

“Ivanka’s decision reflects both her commitment to compliance with federal ethics standards and her openness to opposing points of view,” Gorelick said.

Trump had already sought to distance herself from her business interests.

She continues to own her brand. But she has handed daily management to the company president and has set up a trust to provide further oversight. The business cannot make deals with any foreign state, and the trustees will confer with Gorelick over any new agreements. Ivanka Trump will also be able to veto proposed new transactions.

With the Trump Organization, Ivanka Trump has stepped down from a leadership role and will receive fixed payments rather than a share of the profits.

So there was a jew. silly of me. How did I not jump to the conclusion that he was the problem?

Actually, the Jared reference was directly on topic, silly me.

Actually, that was just two, repeated. It's true, but they're both unofficial. The thing is, Trump has a limited number of people he trusts, and the list looks like this: {His Family} but can you blame him? It's not lik the GOP was on his side during the election, and since they? There's been a hissy fit.

Who knows, about any of this, which is really where I am on Trump. I don't know. I just think the freaking out is childish and unwarranted.

Ivanka was appointed to an invented position, which is lower I would assume than Jared's nominal one, of Senior advisor (he's what, some months older than she is?) Then Jared says Ivanka is "the CEO" in his household. So, it's a power struggle.

But Jared wasn't the news item, Ivanka was. Jared already happened. Is this Trump sexism? Not sure, because he gave Ivanka the empire to watch, and it wasn't until she had to have an official position that he gave her one. She declined it initially, so she could empire watch. Now Idk what happens to it, maybe Melania. Or Barron.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

John Kennedy had Bobby Kennedy. Ronald Reagan trusted Nancy. I think it's common for Presidents to reach out to people that they trust, and since embattled Trump has few allies in Washington (including the GOP ... the "Freedom Caucus" hates him and so do the deep-state/establishment apparatchiks of both parties) there's really not a lot of people for him to rely on.

I just hope that she's good at giving really sound advice!

Nepotism at it's finest. Trump is old enough to have taken lessons in good old-fashioned, Third World country dictatorship ruling.

Maybe you could enlighten us on how this admin could be described as "when the jews get in." How do you measure that? I have to admit that I'm lousy at spotting Jews.

I think it's mainly because I quite frankly never try or really care. Should I start caring? Is this something we should be worried about? You seem to know these things, so thanks for any help.

Fwiw, I feel like Trump and family are doing everything they can to give off the rich WASP image, like a bad copy of the Kennedys.

Ivanka and Jared, who seem to really be running the country, first.
Second, Trumps repeated statements about how he likes, trusts and relies on Jews. Some of which were clearly not intended for public consumption.

Next, the competition. Obama's disparaging comments about Jews and Israel, and then there's Hillary's outright anti semitism, like her quip in the emails about getting the "grimy jew bastards" out of washington.

It's not that I think jews (or scots) are more valuable people, but that people who oppose us, now as always, are actively kicking us.

It's not a loan platform point. and okay, i'm okay with Trump, but hated Bush, who was very pro-jewish. (Sig felt similarly)

Also part Czech. like Ivanka. Czech jews. We love Russia.

Seriously, I think about things based on issues like everyone else, it's not a programmed bot thing. I don't download my ideas from FOX news or MSNBC. Or Russia.

There's not a lot to complain about with Trump. Yet. But I'm willing to let the good times roll and not don a pink hat until he really fucks up. If that happens, there won't be a lot of credible critics, because most of them started whining as soon as he won the election.

And even the sexism thing is a sham, because most of these people who oppose Trump supported Bill Clinton, who is objectively a rapist, and many worse things (Anyone remember Rwanda?)

All of this strikes me as a media created populist manipulation because their fave lost the election. Meh.

It's not a set up, Trump isn't the NWO. They're in on his admin, the same as they always are, but it's really a decent break form business as usual.

Also, what's up with the Russia hating? Russia is really our ally. For some reason we've been trusting our traditional enemies a lot, and ignoring some very obvious internal enemies, but I'd be fine with no enemies. Sounds an awful lot like morw new world order is against him than for him. They hate Russia, and always have.

Ivanka @ CBS in Time. Note, both CBS and Time are incredibly hostile towards Trump, and even this interview was edited to favor that position, but it gives you a much better idea of where she is coming from. (note the complicit in the link name, and also how they dutifully record each stammer she makes, a common propaganda technique. Friendly and neutral interviews are edited into sentences, not away from them.) Also note the prodding to try to make her a wedge in the administration. Of course if she gave in to leftist demands, she'd soon be out of the administration, and the left would never offer her any position of equal importance, or any at all probably.

Another of the greatest concerns resulting from the election of RINO Trump (meaning: why I didn't vote for him): I feared he would install a pile of Liberals in his administration, and boot out any reasonable, conservative people.

So now I'm asking for clarity.
What is the difference between RINO Trump installing ultra-Libtards like Ivanka and Jarrod, and getting rid of Mike Flynn, compared to the Libtards burrowed in for the last 8 years?
Is there a difference?
Will this be the downfall of Trump?
At least the DEEP STATE Libtards seem to think there is a difference, because they seem to be feverishly bent on having the new Libtards removed. Then they would get Pence in charge, and he would seem to swap out current Libs with more reasonable appointees.

It's not on the left-right continuum. The Trumps represent a threat to the status quo in a way that Pence, like Bush, doesn't. A conservative who will tow the globalist agenda, hand trade to China, fight for Israel and the Saudis et al, oppose Russia and support the EU, etc. Which side of the political perspective someone is form does not seem to be a predictor of whether or not the constitution goes through the shredder. I'm okay with Ivanka and Jared. I'd kind of like Bannon to stay around. All the unorthodox Trump people are a refreshing change from what's been in power in DC since the 80s.

How many of Trump voters would have changed their ballot if they had been informed that they were voting for the Ivanka/Jarrod crowd to be installed? For many, they thought they were voting OUT that crowd.

Unless they start courting Jon Stewart, I dont' see anybody they could run that would really stand a chance other than Michelle. I don't think she brings anything to the table other than having Obama back in the white house for another 8 years, but I think given the craziness of the left that she would be almost impossible to beat.

If they actually do run Michelle, I can almost guarantee a loss for the Rethugs if they don't run somebody like Ivanka against her.

It's turning out that Sig is right about the deep state. Which means they're going to apply the same pressure to anyone. Even to get elected you'd need a serious organization outside the machine, and you'd need to keep that when in office. You would have to keep them guessing, and try not to follow that path any more than you have to, to not be impeachmed. Jon Stewart would be a good little liberal for them for a while, but when it came to foreign policy, he would end up on the wrong end of the propaganda machine. They'd paint an image of everything is a joke to our prez. We'd see terrorists torturing children intercut with Stewart making some joke about that terrorist group. Pretty soon no one would take him seriously. T would be calling for his ouster.
