MOUNT BENTAL, Golan Heights — The Israeli military said Thursday that it had bombed dozens of Iran-linked military facilities in Syria, as tensions between the three countries soared.

The army said in a statement that its fighter jets had targeted Iranian intelligence and logistics sites around Damascus, as well as munition warehouses, observation and military posts.

The attacks followed a wave of overnight missile strikes directed at Israeli territory — all of them apparently intercepted — that Israel blamed on Iran.

Fascinating.
What else would they expect after raining down missiles aimed at Israel?

Iran denies firing missiles into the Golan Heights (which btw belongs to Syria). Since I, for one, don't see the benefit to Iran of taking such action, this may very well be a yet another false flag. Or not. I'm waiting for more credible sources than Israel and the MSM to weigh in.

The way it looks so far, Israel launched rockets into Syria, some Syrian entity launched rockets into the (Israeli-occupied) Golan Heights, then Israel used that action to fire missiles into Syria. Still waiting to get a credible timeline.

Thanks for fixing the linky.

Well, this could be very much like the "Georgian invasion". Most people in the west still believe that "Russian started it" when in reality Georgia fired missiles into S Ossetia first. The difference in this case is that Russia did not rush to Syria's aid and obliterate Israel in response.

During the 6 Day War, Syria chose to ignore established borders and attack Israel, quickly losing the Golan Heights. After 14 years of Syria ignoring it, Israel annexed it to provide adequate governance, in 1981.

Does England still own America? Does Germany still own France, Poland, the entirety of Europe? Wartime defeat causes loss of territory.

Nope. It's all about water: The Golan heights is one of the few reliable sources of water. Everybody in the Mideast knows that, even the Israelis.

If so, then Syria should not have been so foolish to decide to lose it, by deciding to attack a Superior Military Force such as Israel.

Answering your Q: same thing as Silindra. Obama/Hilliary funnel taxpayer money into useless endeavors, in this case propping up Nuclear Weapons for Iran, in exchange for money deposited into entities like the Clinton Crime Family Foundation. Obama has become quite wealthy during his time on Government Pay Scale.

Some refer to this as Bribes. Or Kickbacks. Or Moneylaundering. Old hat, for Career Criminal Democraps.

Yes, let's back out of the Iran deal, and egg Israel on to do our dirty work for us.

I think this is being pushed forward 'cause NetanYahoooo has been approved to have corruption charges filed against him. So, best make haste.

And besides, who DOESN'T want a destabilized Middle East as a proxy war for nuclear powers?

So anyway ... anyone up for a rational, fact-based, and civil discussion about the topic?

A more local example is when some people refer to the Civil War as "the war of northern aggression", when in fact the south fired the first shots.

Correct. That's why Obama gave them the money to restart their Nuclear Weapons procurement Program, and then crafted his notions to pave the way and ensure their place as Nuclear Power, and called it JCPOA.

How Good Is Russia's Missile Defense?

Israeli strikes on targets in Syria last week took out several Russian missile defense systems and raised questions about the viability of Moscow’s military equipment.

Israeli fighter jets had targeted Iranian bases in retaliation for Iranian strikes on the Golan Heights, and they also hit Russian missile defense equipment during the strike. The Russian missile defense system that was hit combines surface-to-air missiles and anti-aircraft artillery. But Israel’s military released videos of the strikes showing the Russian-made defense systems getting hit by the Israeli missiles.

Speaking to Russian television on Friday, Aytech Bizhev, a former Russian Air Force deputy commander-in-chief, defended the system by alleging that it was either out of ammunition or was disabled. He argued that the missile defense system would never have been hit if it were working properly.

Moscow has long praised the advanced missile defense systems it has in place in Syria, and Russian officials have suggested that their systems could strike down any U.S. missiles lobbed into the country. Still, Russia and the U.S. have avoided coming to blows in Syria, even when Washington hit the targets of the Russian-backed Syrian government.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Somewhere, KIKI commented that it looks like Trump has delegated the anti-Iran campaign to Israel, which has caused Russia to back up (not give Syria S300s, not actively shoot Israeli jets out of the sky) in order to avoid a confrontation.

So I'm just going to pass along "Dave's" comments from his X22 report. In his view, the mideast is being actively divided up between Russia, the USA, Israel, and Iran. Russia will (he says) ask Iran to leave Syria, which will remove any excuse that Israel might use to bomb Syria, and Russia will protect the southern end of Syria itself. At the same time, Iraq will ask USA troops to leave, but Iranian troops presumably will stay in place. This answers Israel's security issues, at least as far as Iran is concerned. Qatar is nestled comfortably with Iranian gas interests, and still has a large American base on its soil.

I have no idea what Saudi Arabia's security issues will look like. As far as I can tell, Saudi Arabia is an aggressor state, but its real insecurity comes from its reliance on the petrodollar. It looks to me like MbS was trying to develop Saudi Arabia in a different direction; but I'm still not convinced that he survived the coup attempt.

If you want to hear what "Dave" thinks, you can listen for yourself. I should probably put this in the "predictions" thread, but ... oh well.

It's a way to deflect from the facts and is trolling comrade. It's done because you've already lost the argument and can't dispute the facts. Therefore, you post like a troll. And you post other trolls bullshit. Like zerohedge to name one. Dave's shit to name another.

"Dave" has been saying this, or some version of it, for over a month. Another (related) thing that he's said about the Mideast is that Trump is dismantling CIA operations throughout: cutting funding for the so-called "moderate rebels" and White Helmets, allying with MbS - who pulled the rug out from under the entire CIA-friendly coterie in Saudi Arabia shortly after Trump's visit, and making such a political row with Pakistan that they no longer protect CIA's running Afghani opium thru their territory. I honestly can't remember everything that "Dave" says, but he is adamant that Trump is NOT a neocon, and that all of the kerfuffles are mere distractions and attempts to trace which deep state neocon is pulling who's political string.

Quote:

Any thoughts, by you or others, if this might result in less Middle East bloodshed?- JSF
Supposedly yes. The most bloodshed comes in when there is a power vacuum. Saudi Arabia and the CIA and their jihadist proxies have been busy toppling governments throughout, but not able to establish new power structures. Once acceptable borders are drawn - for example, Iran withdraws from southern Syria (BTW there are talks going on between Iran and Israel right now) and the USA withdraws from Syria - then the Syrian government can get back to being a government under a new Constitutional structure (which is being discussed with the UN right now).

I have heard many times that Middle East Muslims are disparately Tribal, and fully resist regional coordination or national Unity. Are these all expected to work together with coalition or Allied groups? Is there an explanation of this macrocosm model? It just seems too unbelievable to gel in my head without further understanding.

Syria's crackdown on protesters becomes dramatically more brutal. Tanks and troops enter towns and villages for the first time as scores of people are reportedly killed across Syria

The Syrian government's brutal crackdown on pro-democracy demonstrations has escalated dramatically, with tanks rolling on to the streets for the first time and troops reported to have opened fire in several towns and villages across the country.

This is how it began in Syria. Let's not forget and get confused by SIG's pro Russian bullshit.

SOME governments ... like Libya's, Syria's, Afghanistan's (in the late 70s), and Lebanon's.... are/were primarily secular. Assad himself is a religious minority (Allawite) and has protected the rights of religious minorities - Orthodox Xtians, Druze, Yazidis, Shias etc. Also, there are many ethnicities there too ... Arabs, Turks, Assyrians, etc. Until the takfiri invasion, it was going about as well as can be expected. You will probably find the same in Qatar, since they seem to have to barrier to working with Shias.

OTOH, Saudi Arabia has been pushing its fundamentalist Wahhabism for over 40 years by building and fundings it madrasas all throughout the Mideast and North Africa (MENA), and by funding its proxy army of terrorists, and has seriously infected part of Africa, most of the Gulf states, and Pakistan. I remember, when I was a teen, that Pakistan was a modern secular state, and now its under the control of religious nutjobs.

Just as an aside, did you notice how WE managed to destroy MOST of the secular nations in the Mideast, and have fostered the most religiously intolerant? In Afghanistan we helped the "freedom fighters" aka "mujahideen" aka "jihadists", and we fund Israel and Saudi Arabia. What does that say about our goals in the Mideast?

*****

As long as the CIA is not attempting to destabilize the Mideast by fostering divisions within each nation ("revolutions" are their favorite tool, they leave "invasions" for the military) AND the leaders of these nations are getting their arms twisted into being leaders for the entire nation and not just for their tribe, they should do OK.

Russia: Syrian missiles shot down Russian aircraft in crossfire. Moscow says its plane was caught in Syrian crossfire after Israeli jets used it for cover during attacks in Syria.

A Russian military aircraft was brought down by a Syrian missile over the Mediterranean Sea, killing all 15 people on board, the Russian defence ministry said.

Moscow blamed Israel for the crash, saying the reconnaissance plane was caught in the crossfire as four Israeli fighter jets attacked targets in northwestern Syria.

The Israeli military said the Russian plane fell victim to the “extensive and inaccurate” firing of Syrian surface-to-air missile systems and that the Israeli jets — which were carrying out a raid against a Syrian government facility in another place — had already left Syrian airspace by that point.

Middle East is a cluster F*ck right now, I'm not sure how to fix it or if it will be ever solved. I hope the USA does not waste anymore blood and treasure here. Also US meddling and regime change policy sometimes could work but more oftentimes were often bad terrible ideas. I realize there are many bad greedy extreme players here each with their own agenda, bad intentions also difficult to paint an honest picture of the Middle East, Syria, Israel etc when there are so many dishonest players and disinformation in the area.

But wait a minute....isn't the Libtard Big Tech media narrative that Syria and Iran are NOT colluding to make War on Israel?
An unintentional and accidental swerve into reality and fact, truth?

Do you see Syrian planes bombing Israel?

Syrian troops in Israel? Iranian troops in Israel?

No?

Syria and Iranian forces are in Syria because of Syria.

Then how are Syria and Iran "colluding" to "make war on Israel"?

Dood, did I say I BELIEVED what Dave says? It's time to get out the (mental) popcorn, put your emotions on ice, and just let this all sift into the "interesting if true" pile.

Posting whacko shit and saying you didn't say you believed it yourself, is the same as Trump making false, bullshit and racist statements and saying he is only repeating someone else.

It's a way to deflect from the facts and is trolling comrade. It's done because you've already lost the argument and can't dispute the facts. Therefore, you post like a troll. And you post other trolls bullshit. Like zerohedge to name one. Dave's shit to name another.
