37 Palestinians killed in Gaza protests ahead of US embassy opening

At least 37 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces during clashes at the Gaza border on Monday, the largest number of fatalities suffered in one day since the latest round of protests began more than six weeks ago, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced.

The demonstrations were taking place hours before the new US embassy was due to officially open in Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said more than 1,600 had suffered injuries, and that many of the dead had not yet been identified. CNN journalists near the Gaza-Israel border heard gunfire in spurts and saw a tank moving towards the fence in the border area of Malaka. Israeli drones also dropped tear gas over a crowd of protesters.

Israel operates Gaza like the Nazis operated the Warsaw ghetto. What they have created is the largest open-air prison in history, and what you have now is in essence a prison riot. But all of those concerned about human rights in RUSSIA!!! seem not to notice the human rights violations in our biggest buddies, Israel and Saudi Arabia, who (btw) have openly teamed up recently.

"Those provoking problems like we see today in Gaza are part of the problem and not part of the solution." - something Jared Kushner actually just said during his speech at the US Embassy opening in Jerusalem. Pretty sure he wasn't talking about Israel or his father-in-law, but he should have been.

These are usually the very same people who will claim to be Feminists out of one side of their mouth while being extremely outspoken about their support of Muslims. The hypocrisy of the 2018 Leftist knows no bounds.

So radical Islamothugs bring their explosives to riot and attack Armed Defensive soldiers, as pretext of "protest"?
Are the dead from themselves detonating their own explosives?

I'm sorry, I can't do a linky right now.
I checked at DuckDuckGo for "new embassy Palestinian explosive dead" and got plenty of hits, most of the valid ones dated 14 May. The Bloomberg link looks certainty like what you are looking for.
If that is not adequate, I might be able to post kinky tomorrow.

Looks like at least one explosive while being deployed was disrupted by the IDF.

Whoa! Classy!

No doubt you approved of the "pastors" that Trump picked for the opening prayers:

https://bit.ly/2GhWJ8p

Pastors who said 'Jews will go to hell', praised Hitler, lead US Jerusalem embassy prayers

Two American pastors with a history of anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and anti-gay remarks were invited by the Trump administration to lead prayers on Monday at the inauguration of the US embassy in Jerusalem.

Robert Jeffress, a Southern Baptist preacher in Dallas, Texas, has been a staunch Trump supporter since the billionaire businessman's 2016 campaign.

His past comments, in which he has said Jews will suffer for eternity in hell, were being seen as a rather extraordinary position for someone offering such a public prayer in Israel.

"God sends good people to Hell. Not only do religions like Mormonism, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism - not only do they lead people away from from God, they lead people to an eternity of separation from God in Hell," Jeffress said during a lecture in 2010."

What message were "we" sending to Israel? How backwards and upside down is this administration?

Which time? When Trump picked pastors for his opening prayers who had said bad things about the Jewish religion, and about Jews?

Or when Trump moved our embassy to Jerusalem?

It's no secret that Israel has an outsized influence on USA foreign policy, AND on our media. I, for one, can't figure out how the Mossad wound up on the same side as Harvey Weinstein*

Quote:

The-mail containing an unusual proposal. Norris is married to Ben Rhodes, a former foreign-policy adviser to President Barack Obama and a prominent advocate of the Iran nuclear deal. In the e-mail, a woman who introduced herself as Eva Novak and claimed to work for a London-based film company called Shell Productions asked Norris to consult on a movie that she described as “ ‘All the President’s Men’ meets ‘The West Wing’ ”: it would follow the personal lives of “government officials in the positions that determine war and Peace” during times of geopolitical crisis, including “nuclear negotiations with a hostile nation.” Recalling the exchange, Ann Norris said that she found Eva Novak’s request “bizarre,” and that she “never responded.”

The e-mail appears to be part of an undercover campaign by an Israeli private-intelligence firm to discredit Obama officials who had been leading proponents of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. The campaign was first reported, on Saturday, by the British newspaper the Observer. However, sources familiar with the effort and pages of documents obtained by The New Yorker reveal that there is more to understand. Two of those sources told me on Sunday that the operation was carried out by Black Cube—a firm that was also employed by Harvey Weinstein and that offers its clients access to operatives from “Israel’s élite military and governmental intelligence units,” including the Mossad.

but Israel and its secret and not-so-secret agents have infiltrated our government since whenever.

*BTW it's "Wiynstiyn" not Wiynsteen". Weinstein means wine-stone.

It's hard to say. You can be Jewish and not be a Zionist. You can even be a Jewish Israeli and not be a Zionist, altho that's fairly rare. Even rarer, you can be a Zionist and not even Jewish, as some Armageddonists believe that the rapture will come only after Jerusalem becomes fully Jewish (or something like that).

To me, the problem isn't Judaism per se, or being Israeli, the issue is Zionism. Zionists, as far as I can tell, are almost as fanatical as jihadists, and they don't mind using their historic tragedy to justify their own barbarism. In their mind, they can shoot unarmed civilians and create open-air prison ghettos and creep into genocide because, yanno, Holocaust!.

As far as I can tell, Netehnyahu isn't even particularly religious, so any aspersions cast upon "Jews" just rolls off of him like water off a duck, as long as the Greater State of Israel get support.

Trump is transforming America’s Israel policy into something new: completely unconditional support.
www.vox.com/world/2018/5/15/17355628/gaza-embassy-jerusalem-trump-poli
cy

There was a striking moment in Monday’s White House press conference when deputy press secretary Raj Shah was asked about the Israeli military’s killing of dozens of Palestinian protesters in Gaza.

Shah said that Hamas, the Islamist militant group that runs Gaza, was responsible for the Palestinian deaths. That’s incomplete given that Israeli soldiers appear to have also shot civilians who did not pose an immediate threat.

Reporters kept pressing Shah on whether Israel bore any responsibility for its soldiers killing protesters, most of whom were unarmed, and Shah kept denying it.

The conversation culminated in an incredibly blunt admission. The Trump administration is essentially fine with Israel responding in whatever way it wants to.

This “blank check” approach is not normal.

Past presidents, Democrat and Republican alike, responded to outbreaks of Israeli-Palestinian violence by urging restraint and calm — typically putting more blame on the Palestinians, to be sure, but also working to try to limit the Israeli response.

President Trump is different. He is pioneering a new, hardline pro-Israel stance — one that fits comfortably in today’s Republican Party and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.

Even Reagan criticized Israel. Trump seems to be in lockstep with Netanyahu. The Trump policy is clear: Israel will face no pressure from America to moderate its aggressive response.

This kind of position, acting as Israel’s advocate rather than its ally, is the emerging norm for Trump. His ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, is a hard-right pro-Israel advocate who once wrote that the two-state solution is “a suicidal ‘peace’ with hateful radical Islamists hell bent on Israel’s destruction.”

Trump is bringing American policy in line with the position Republican donors and activists have held for quite some time. This is directly linked to the rise of evangelical Protestants in the GOP, whose beliefs about biblically granted rights to the Holy Land make them inclined to take a strongly pro-Israel stance.

Evangelical conservatives tend to frame the conflict in religious, rather than national or political, terms: The land is Jewish by divine right. Evangelicals interpret the Bible literally, so God’s biblical promise to give Palestine to the Jewish people — that’s an eternally valid promise.

Because many evangelicals believe God promised the land to Israel, they see Israelis as unerringly in the right in their conflict with the Palestinians, Iran, or other Muslim neighbors. The Israeli occupation of the West Bank and blockade of Gaza are less of an issue for them than they are for many Democrats, liberal Jews, and even many Israelis.

Trump came to power in a Republican Party where hardcore support for Israel is a matter of faith, literally and figuratively. Trump is merely bringing US foreign policy in line with Republican partisan rhetoric.

Here is a question: How many of the Journalists are reporting from Gaza? Why are they all hiding behind their desks in NYC, DC, London? Or at the nearest, inside Israel? Why won't they wander into Terrorist Group Hamas controlled Gaza, where the peace-loving denizen terrorists (aka "protesters" and "demonstrators") will immediately hang them by the neck?

Are these journalists all cowards? Or merely paid agents of Terrorist Group Hamas?

Also, are all of Hamas terrorists cowards? Otherwise why do they insist upon pushing women and children to the forefront of their assault lines?

And who else do you expect to provide reports from the front lines of battle? Turkey? Libya? Pakistan? Italy?

Apparently not. The biggest issue is "burning kites", which cause brush fires when they land, not "firebombs". There was ONE instance, the military says, of a kite which landed with what APPEARED to be an explosive device, but they can't tell if it was a dud, a fake, or a test. (If this indeed happened, I'm sure they figured it out by now.)

Here is the linky I specified (from Bloomberg, not NYT):

Israel accuses Hamas of using the protests as cover to attack the Jewish state, and has vowed to prevent any attempts to breach the border, Hamas’s stated goal. The Israeli military said it stopped militants from laying an explosive device

Egged on by loudspeakers and transported in buses, Gazans streamed to the border with Israel, where some threw rocks, burned tires, and flew kites and balloons outfitted with firebombs into Israeli territory.

Quote:

More than 2,700 Palestinian demonstrators were injured on Monday — at least 1,350 by gunfire
What about the other 1,350 injured by something other than gunfire?

Yes, what about them?
Quote:

A mass attempt by Palestinians to cross the border fence separating Israel from Gaza turned violent, as Israeli soldiers responded with rifle fire.

Israeli soldiers and snipers used barrages of tear gas as well as live gunfire to keep protesters from entering Israeli territory.

Well, live gunfire in response to "motion" surely isn't proportionate.
Quote:

The Israeli military said that some
Two or three in a thousand?
Quote:

in the crowds were planting or hurling explosives, and that many were flying flaming kites into Israel; at least one kite outside the Nahal Oz kibbutz, near Gaza City, ignited a wildfire.
You would think that there would be evidence of such devices.
Quote:

Jared Kushner, who said: “As we have seen from the protests of the last month and even today those provoking violence are part of the problem and not part of the solution.”

The Israel Defence Forces said in a statement: “The rioters are hurling firebombs and explosive devices towards the security fence and IDF forces,

Evidence? Videos? Devices?

Quote:

Israel’s military said its troops had killed three “terrorists” attempting to place an explosive device adjacent to the fence in the southern area of the strip “under the cover of violent riots”.

Hamas has encouraged and funded the protests and said it would not stop people from attempting to break the metal fence. Loudspeakers at the frontier called for people to push through

OH MY GOD, THE HORROR! People pushing through with their bodies!! That DEFINITELY deserves live fire! [/snark]

JSF, by now you should be wary of allegations without evidence. From my long observation of the Israeli government, they - like globalists, neocons, and all manner of politicians, lie like a rug. I can't tell you the number of times they claimed something that wasn't true, or denied something that happened.

So your story is that the Terrorist Hamas webpages mapping out and diagramming how to breach the border and infiltrate to kill Israelis, and commit terrorism, is all Fake?
And that Israel should not be allowed to defend itself from Armed incursion of terrorists?
And you prefer to believe every lie from known Terrorists and proven habitual liars?

First of all, I haven't seen such webpages.
Secondly, assuming that they exist and aren't fake, who provided the translation for you? Israel?
Third, who said that those webpages, even if they exist and are at least approximately translated, have anything to do with THIS event?

Quote:

There were thousands of people there, MAYBE a few had actual weapons (yanno, besides stones, kites, and burning tires). But I doubt it, Do you want to know why? Because ALL of the deaths occurred on the Palestinian side.
This was hardly an "armed incursion" by Palestinians... if anything, it was more like the "immigrant convoy" that showed up on our border.

Quote:

The State of Israel also happens to be "terrorist state" but with vastly better weapons than anyone else around.

They killed unarmed activists who were in a flotilla heading for Gaza in 2010

They attacked a US Navy ship, the USS Liberty, with gunships and planes, and killed or wounded more than 200 US sailors
Quote:

The time Israel attacked a US navy ship and killed dozens

...Three days into Israel's Six-Day War, the Liberty was parked off the coast of Egypt collecting communication signals in international waters.

While initially some concern was given to the ship's getting too close to shore, or mistaken for an enemy vessel, those misgivings seem to have vanished when Israeli planes flew in for a visual inspection at about 6:00 a.m. local time — as the mist was still burning off the surface of the Mediterranean.

American sailors say the Israeli aircraft flew so close to the Liberty that they rattled the its steel plating while the ship's crew waved to the planes pilots, who did the same in return.

All morning and into the afternoon, the Liberty went about her mission unmolested when at 1:40 p.m., unknown to the Liberty crew, an Israel torpedo boat reported an "unknown vessel" traveling at speeds only attributable to warships.

Twenty minutes later a pair of Mirage II fighters rattled down over the Liberty and made two visual inspection passes at 3,000 feet. The Mirage pilots radioed command that the ship looked like a non-Israeli destroyer, and orders came back over the airwaves to attack.

The Liberty's command knew the planes were Israeli so the ship's crew were all on "stand down" mode, non-defensive, with no helmets or even life jackets at the ready. The twin Mirage's pounded the Liberty with all the cannons, rockets, and bombs at their disposal during three separate runs. When they depleted their ammunition they were replaced by two Dassault Mysteres filled with napalm bombs that tore into the Liberty, engulfing it in a raging inferno from the bridge to the deck.

They directed the Christian Phalangists to slaughter over a 1000 refugees ... like, in refugees tents in Lebanon.

They routinely kill civilians in the West Bank and Gaza, and control/ embargo the food, water, power, medical supplies, building materials, and other necessities of life for millions of people, treating them like rats in a deprivation experiment, shooting them at random, and stealing their land.

There are quite a few Israelis ... in government ... who will tell you that the solution to the problem is to get rid of Palestinians. Sounds like ethnic cleansing to me. So who are the terrorists here, JSF?

Geez, for all the whining and bitching you Densans go on about when links aren't spoon-fed to you, you don't even bother to look at the info when they are provided, even when just to disprove your denials.
At the minimum, the breitbart link had the details.

And BTW, the Sun Rises In The Orient.

I just heard the news report that senior Hamas Official confirmed that 50 of the dead were in fact Hamas militants, attacking Israel. He reported this to some Palestinian newspaper, but the name was not given.

Got lots of hits all over the interwebs.
Hamas Official was Salah Albardawil. News was Bladna Al Alamyia.

And already confirmed before were 3 Terrorists of Iran's Saraya-al-Quds wing of the Islamic Jihad.

So 53 of the 62 dead were confirmed Terrorists attacking Israel. But the IDF Defended Israel by stopping the enemy combatants before breaching the border fence (aka in Gaza), none died after breaching the border objective (aka in Israel).

But wait!!! If IDF tells the truth and Hamas are liars, then can we believe Hamas confirming what IDF reported - meaning both groups lied? Or if IDF lies and only the Terrorists tell the truth, then can we believe IDF reports - meaning they didn't lie?

Aaaaaaand the denials in 5...4...3...

JSF, the breitbart article that you linked is nothing but The IDF said .... the IDF said ... the IDf said Not a single piece of corroborating evidence from anyone else. Even the "Facebook page" was something that "the IDF said .."

And that article, supposedly by Hamas leader? It was translated by MEMRI, and I have long ago discounted anything that they "translate".

I think you're making the mistake of thinking that just because one side is "evil" the other side must be "good". That's like thinking that because Democrats are corrupt, Republicans must be moral.

Here's an another example of wrong binary thinking

Quote:

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also slammed Netanyahu, calling him “the PM of an apartheid state,” and claiming he has “the blood of Palestinians on his hands.”
This, from the guy who - until recently - actively supported ISIL in Syria and persecutes Kurds everywhere. A point that Netanyahu ... a PM engaged in slow ethnic cleansing .... pointed out
Quote:

“the blood of countless Kurdish citizens in Turkey and Syria” on Erdogan’s hands.

Who's the good guy in that one? I'm not seeing any.

Yes, I did. What I saw was that it was "helpfully" tweeted by .... wait for it ... the IDF.

The official Facebook page of the riots in Gaza published these photos, directing rioters to breach the fence and infiltrate nearby Israeli communities

Also, if you "copy image location" as I did, you'll find that the image is from "pbs/twimg.com". Now, I don't know who THAT is ... PBS maybe? .... but it certainly NOT from anything that looks like a Hamas FB address. So I have no way of getting back to the original FB page (assuming that it even exists) to verify the information.

Did you know that during the "Arab Spring" in Egypt, roughly HALF of the tweets circulating through the protesters originated in Israel? Do you think that Russia is the only one with troll factories? Russia, Israel, China ... the USA .... are all disinformation experts. Be careful of what the Israeli govt/ IDF says. They lie even worse than the Russians.

Does IDF lie more than Hamas, Iran? Does this include before deliberative international bodies, or only when they are being attacked?

Washington post had already reported that the Sit-In Demonstrators had brought knives and fence cutters for their peaceful protest.

Is Facebook.com/GNNA.NOW/ a peaceful webpage.

On those videos of the Hamas leaders admitting that they are deceiving everybody with any talk of peaceful protests, if we assume the MEMRI translation is faulty, is there another source of translation which you consider reliable?

It is a long long conflict, there is no red and blue, no Yin and yang black white, no exact color, all of it different colors of gray or grey depending on your British American English spelling? No side is innocent each group connects to a longer complicated history

I don't see either sides truly wanting people, too many factions on both sides want the flow of high tech tanks and home made bomb missiles to continue.

With a pic going viral maybe Israel will seem to be the bully, someone shoots a firework, the Molotov a breakable glass bottle containing a flammable substance, they throw it at an Israel check point, the Jewish State responds with 'righteous' cause, hits them with high tech modern Tanks and Fighter Jets, a big hole in the ground a lot of people dead

both sides willing to take acceptable losses, the canon fodder quota in an endless game.

Do we need to ask a dumb question. Who will lose more the guys throwing fire bombs and rocks or the guys in Tanks and Aircraft? In the end Israel could lose simply because the Arab will out breed them, eventually other Arab maybe Persia Iran powers could get higher tech weapons, missiles even nukes
...will the sort sighted nature of the Israel State lead to its own doom? and wider politic, the globalist Israeli, the big money moving war monger, the NGO man who wants open borders for the USA, what happens when these same dual citizens spread their politics back home and create open borders for the Israeli, will it all come to an end?

More news more books will come out on an endless political game, the same old record player playing the same tunes but with new faces?

Screams of Racist, Racist or are you Anti-Semetic!! ??

Is this what happens when your tv programs you to always scream for team A or team B ...

Are these people free from criticism, should calling them out be banned?
Some like Wishimay think a special group of certain chosen people can not be criticized? A gay or lesbian person gets bashed in the middle east? Which side would dear tv's Jussie Smollett chose? that's simple he connects to the Israelite tribe or so he claims, so now you can predict which side he supports... but Anti-Fa a confused collective and other Social groups, they are on a quest to win the Social Justice Opression political Olympic politik game

this is where it gets confusing

On one side you have guys with the Jew-Cap, they might wear the Tallit and the traditional Hasidic garb, do all the rituals, claim to be special and blessed
and yet they can be extremists who would openly kick and punch gays in the street

On the other side
you have the islamo mob, idiots who pray to a 1400 yr old terroristic perverted moron named muhammed in that so called holy-book
the same mob who throw gays off the high buildings to screams of Al Lah is Greater!

What side to chose, when religion and foreign powers come to play it gets confusing for the world wide social justice mobs

Is the thing about Israel Palestine, this conflict has possibly gone on for one thousand years, maybe even longer. Outside interference like Empires such as France and the British Empire drawing up random straight lines across some map probably did not help in the long term, you only need look to Iraq to see a country kind of forced together by dictatorship but different people, different cultures who do not really connect to each other, maybe the new modern Iraq can hold together?
