Trump impeachment vote fails overwhelmingly

House Democrats overwhelmingly joined Republicans on Wednesday to defeat an attempt to impeach President Donald Trump. But 58 Democrats supported the bid to consider impeachment over the objections of House Democratic leaders, who viewed the measure as a distraction in a Republican-controlled Congress.
The motion to sideline the measure — killing the effort — was approved 364-58, with four Democrats voting present.

The vote was forced by Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), who introduced articles of impeachment. “Now is not the time to consider articles of impeachment,” Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer said in a joint statement, shortly after Green introduced his articles of impeachment.

At the very least, it's not going to bode well for any Democrats who voted for it that aren't in strongly Democrat districts that never swing the other way.

We already know that the Democratic Socialists that Primaried their way in will end up losing hard in their next elections, even if it's only in the next primaries and to the non-extremist Democrats that they suckered. (I'm looking at you, Joe Crowley).

But you can bet that any Republicans running close races against any of those who voted for impeachment are going to have that brought up every single day during their next race.

In the mean time...

The Hollywood cultural appropriation to the extreme of 2019 is going to lead to the worst summer they've seen in a long time. DC Comics has downsized drastically, removed some of their lines such as Vertigo comics and some are saying will eventually shutter their doors as comic book publishers completely within a few years with Marvel soon to fall behind them. Both of them leaving the industries they created to focus only on movies that nobody is going to see.

The pendulum will swing the other way, just as it always does, and history is going to look back on the 2010's as a very strange time indeed.
