2 18year olds for Port Alberni on Vancouver Island suspects in 2 murders in Northern BC. They have also been charged in a 3rd murder near Dease Lake in Northern BC. Suspects were last seen in Gillam Manitoba but a new sighting places them in York Landing Manitoba.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

I've been seeing that on the news. It's gotten a fair bit of air time here since an American was killed. (I think if no American was involved we probably wouldn't even hear about it. It's all about us! after all.)

Sigh.

At this point I'm provisionally assuming they did it, though if they're caught, charged, and tried we'll find out more. I wonder what went wrong with their heads.

No, the murders were in the North and I am in the South. Also Manitoba is 3 provinces away from me.

I always keep an eye open when I am out and about.

Yeah, I was listening to some news from the US Saturday night and it got some air time.

Charges have been laid in one of the murders. The older man from Vancouver. 2nd degree.

The tip from York Landing was a dead end and there has been some pull back to Gillam.

Myself, I am wondering if they haven't backtracked to maybe Saskatchewan. They were spotted in that province before Manitoba.

The father of one of the kids said over the last week that he thinks his son will end up dead. This could happen if they decide to go out in a "Blaze of Glory" when found by the RCMP.

Oh. That's good they're not by you. I know Canada's a huge place. I figured since you mentioned the story it might be around you.

Do you keep anything on you for protection? Pepper spray? Something that makes a loud noise?

Better to have it and never have to use it than be without.

Nope not near me. Yes, Canada is a big place and lots of very remote areas too. Story is getting a lot of air play on the news because manhunts don't happen that often, going across country.

No, I don't. But I'm not out in the evenings alone. If and when I work late in the winter, I get a ride back usually from my boss.

I am now wondering if the suspects have crossed the border into Northern Ontario from Manitoba. RCMP have help from Ontario.

Course they could be deeper in the bush around Gillam and 'copters can't see through the bush. One of the suspects sounds like he might have some wilderness skills but not the other one.

Though army and police going deeper into the bush is dangerous for the officers and army. They have to keep in tight communications with each other so they don't accidentally fire on each other. Don't need friendly fire along with 2 probably armed and dangerous guys.

They are backtracking. They got a ride from someone who didn't know they were wanted. Last seen in Cold Lake Alberta. There is or was an air force base in the town.

It is in the northeast corner of Alberta and about an hour or so drive away from Edmonton. I have a lot of friends who live in Edmonton. I hope they stay in the city.

Looks like they could be heading home to BC.

You're welcome Kiki. But the trail has gone cold up here. There have been no new sightings. So, cops are warning people to be vigilant on their surroundings and stuff.

I wasn't kidding about the bears either. Looking at the calendar, the bears are starting to get real hungry about now. No expert here, but I recall the guy who lived w/ the Grizzlies and stuck around too late in the season , and it cost both him and his g/f their lives. Grizzly chow.

Teen fugitives 'unlikely' to survive in Canadian wilderness

Hunted by police, low on supplies and running the gauntlet of bear and wolf attacks in the mosquito-infested forests of central Canada, two teen triple murder suspects are unlikely to survive much longer, say experts.

2 bodies found in dense brush near Gillam Manitoba. These bodies are believed to be the suspects.

The Nelson river was dragged last week after a boat was found damaged and abandoned. Also personal belongings were found.

The bodies are being sent to Winnipeg for autopsies and see how long they have been dead.

So, it is over.

I doubt that we will kiki. Families aren't talking to the media and I don't blame them. And the two don't seem to have left any writings or anything behind.

Sorry AU. They shot themselves. 2 guns were found with the bodies. Ballistics will now see if these are the weapons used in the murder of the couple.
