That's the problem with you. You don't understand what evidence looks like, so you keep falling for bullshit over and over.

You don't understand perjured testimony, do you? What happened is that Trump's lawyer told Mulvaney that he was now the star witness in Trump's impeachment trial and therefore Mulvaney must immediately retract his "quid pro quo" statement. Once he did that it becomes very easy for Trump's defense to handle:

1) Mulvaney refuses to testify at both the impeachment trial and at the House of Representatives.
2) If he is somehow forced to testify after taking the case all the way to the Supreme Court, Mick Mulvaney merely has to commit perjury on the witnesses stand. He does that 10 times a day in front of the media. It won't be hard to do it in front of either the Senate or the House of Representatives.
3) Trump's lawyer refuses to confirm or deny that he told Mulvaney to retract his "quid pro quo" statement. The lawyer cannot be sworn in to testify about what he told Mulvaney to do.

The joke is the American legal system. If you have enough money for good lawyers, they can cause gridlock for your case. Remember the Teflon Don? Trump does. That guy was acquitted many times, but he finally got convicted based on tapes from FBI bugs. Trump controls the FBI. And Trump learned the hard lesson from Nixon's Watergate Tapes, the ones where he talked himself into trouble. Trump records no conversations, except for the ones required by law.

Speaking of the legal system - has anyone been following the college admissions 'scandal'? Not that I have a lot of sympathy for privileged rich people bribing colleges ... but as far as I can tell, 12 people plead 'not guilty', and so of course the prosecutor is threatening them with harsh sentences unless they confess their sins and admit that they're witches in congress with the devil ... oh, I derailed there a bit.

But doesn't it seem odd that the justice system would be allowed to extort people, as a normal procedure, because those people exercised their constitutional right to a trial by jury of their peers? Basically the prosecutor's saying, confess, or we'll make you pay a huge price.

And if rich white folk with pricey lawyer$$$ are subject to that - can you imagine being a poor person with only a public defender on your side?

... back to your regularly scheduled slug-fest ...

Because Mulvaney said there was "Quid Pro Quo", it follows that Mulvaney would be a star witness in an impeachment. But then Trump's lawyer told Mulvaney to get back in front of the cameras and retract his "Quid Pro Quo" statement. Trump's problem of having his Chief of Staff being the star witness against Trump was very easily solved by lying on camera. If the House tries to call Mulvaney as a witness, he will refuse to testify. If the Supreme Court requires he testify, then Mulvaney merely has to lie to protect Trump. That's easy for Mulvaney. He does it 10 times a day to the media.

It does not matter about Mulvaney because Alexander Vindman will testify. He is doing it tomorrow. He is a lieutenant colonel who currently serves in the White House as the top Ukraine expert on the National Security Council. FOX News is already calling Vindman a traitor, even before he speaks.

Don't worry, 1kiki. About 53 of the 53 GOP Senators will vote Trump "Not Guilty". They signed a pledge to exonerate Trump, no matter what he said, what he did, no matter how many witnesses say Trump is a liar and crook and more than half crazy. Your man Trump is untouchable by the American legal system so long as he is President. Once he retires, he is still untouchable because he can hire lawyers to stall his cases until the day he dies. (He is old enough and fat enough to die any day now. The fattest President died at 72. The next fattest, Trump, is 73. https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Howard_Taft#Death )

I'm not worried at all.

My favorite daydream is that Trump implodes right after he takes down the Deep State. Problems solved.

YOUR problem is that you're such a dickwad, you think any kind of un-democratic (small d) efforts are completely justified. I bet you'd approve of a junta taking over ...

... because ... Trump !!

Do you really think history is one number per President? That Zachary Taylor's weight is known? Even my weight drops by 7 pounds between morning and afternoon of a hot day.

You do realize that Trump lies about everything, including his weight? Nothing he claims in writing or by speech is believable until he step upon a weighing machine, one he has not tampered with, in front of an audience. He can fake all his numbers: blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, but he can't hide how his clothes are getting bigger and bigger, year after year.

They're not trolls, any more than you or I are trolls, Kiki.

They're sheep. T and Captain are just too stupid to realize anything about anything and would start drooling all over themselves if you unplugged them from their smart phones.

JO is smart, and he's a great guy, but he's hurting pretty bad these days and he drank the Kool Aid. You might be able to say the same things about SGG. Some of them for sure.

Wishy's got a ton of malice inside of her, but she's stupid like T and Captain, so outside of her nasty behavior and inability to temper her impulses, she's not really responsible for what she posts.

The only one you could argue is an actual Deep State Troll would be Second. But that's only if you take on face value that he is rich and powerful. Otherwise, he's just an asshole and a liar. He obviously has a brain on him, but he neglects to use it half the time in blind devotion to his cause.

Marcos... well that guy really isn't even worth mentioning.

I kind of hate that word Troll.

It's become very ambiguous as to how it's used these days, regardless of what urban dictionary says the definition is.

Based off of the actual definition there, I'm certainly a troll. So is President Trump. So is nearly everybody who posts here regularly in the RWED.

But the word has been weaponized, and it means a lot of different things to different people. It only needs to have a slightly different connotation attached to become a completely different meaning.

I see it used often against you and Sigs with the adjective "Russian" before it. When I see you use it by putting the adjective "Deep State" before it, I honestly don't see any difference to how they abuse the word.

I'd be fine if everybody here just called each other Trolls without putting any unnecessary prefixes on the word. Then nobody would be being hyperbolic with their insults.

People who live in a world of reconstructed reality. They see all events through the delusional lenses of conspiracy because the world has crushed them and their spirit. Everything is bad and the truth is false. Designed, shaped and manipulated by the main stream to take advantage. To corrupt how we think. It's sad...

Hey kiki, here's a description of a troll that describes you jack and sig to name three. You know this type of troll. They're the people who always have to tell other users that they have misspelled words and grammar mistakes. Sound familiar kiki. It should, you guys do this. Even though it's you guys who make the most errors.

Let's see, can we describe one of the many ways sig trolls. Exaggeration troll, she can be a combination of know-it-all, offended and debate troll. She takes any topic or problem, implies her complete understanding of the topic, on occassion imply she personally knows someone who's expert, or lived through said event, then completely distort and or blow it out of proportion.

Well, you all do that. That's how you justify the constant criticisms you direct at others. That's how you justify going after your imagined deep state. And that's why the rest of us have had enough of you stupidity and bullshit.

I guarantee that not one of the deep-state trolls here is going to answer YES, because the "military-industrial complex" is the deep state v1.0. And if they answer YES, they cede the topic.

In fact, I guarantee every single one of the deep-state trolls here is going to avoid this question completely, and if they post al all, they're going to personally attack me instead of addressing the topic.

And THANKS THUGGER for stepping up to the plate first!

Anyone else going to take a swing at me instead of answering the question?

LOONEYTUNES - "So let me ask you - and everyone - do you understand that there's such a thing as the "military-industrial complex" as identified by Eisenhower? It's a simple yes / no question about a documented historical term."

Who doesn't? We also know a weak-ass deflection when we see it.

So let's try again. I guarantee you won't answer because you have no answer:

"Who's on your deep state list? How would Trump do this (get rid of them)?"

Is it just second, T and myself that make up your Deep State?

That's spot on, T. "My friend in Canada... Makeupistan...." makes me laugh every time.

I think there are a few categories of Trump supporters here:

1. plain old, garden variety idiots - the type you see at his rallies.
2. people who hate Democrats (not real life ones, the cartoon villains the GOP and Fux have created). Ok, Hillary hate is real.
3. people with alternative political agendas
4. egocentric douchebags
5. people who are emboldened to be contrarians just because of the anonymous nature of forums. Life is not good for them, so why should it be for anyone else?
6. True believers - they just love Trump. Whaddya gonna do?

Looking forward to 2020!

Trump was not justified in how he handled his decision to pull troops from Syria. He not only failed to notify the Kurds, but he also did not inform his British and French allies who have troops in the region. His own Defense Department appears to have been caught off-guard. Whether he explicitly told Erdogan that Turkey had a “green light” to attack the Kurds in Syria, it is hard to imagine how his decision to withdraw troops could have been understood any other way by the Turks. His failure was to create a perilous situation without any effort to thwart foreseeable harm.

At any rate second tomorrow the dems will vote on the inquiry into impeachment. Since the supreme court has already determined the president has to fully cooperate in these inquiries, the shit is about to hit the fan.

On the first tomorrow, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman testified that one example of his attempts to change the transcript was to include Trump telling Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky there were tapes of Biden, which The New York Times reported occurred where there's an ellipsis in the transcript that was released. The change was not made. The assertion that some portion of the conversation was replaced by an ellipsis contradicts the White House's statement in September that the ellipses in the transcript did not represent missing words or phrases. It also contradicts the President who has insisted the transcript the White House released was an exact depiction of the call
