“Let’s go out with a bang. Let’s have a laugh at your expense,” said the snarky British comedian to the crowd of A-listers who’d looked eager to get the party started until hestepped onstage. “Remember, they’re just jokes. We’re all gonna die soon and there’s no sequel, so remember that.”

The 58-year-old former Golden Globe winner (“The Office”) and five-time host also flippantly reminded the packed room that, “No one cares about movies anymore,” and advised, “If you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world.

Meryl Streep shook her head. Eddie Murphy refused to smile. Quentin Tarantino looked more disturbed than usual.

I posted an article of this by a lefty shill. It's funnier watching them whine and complain about losing the culture battle than it is to hear the winners gloating about winning.

#BoycottHollywood

P.S. "hestepped" is not a word, Mrs. Ali. If the L.A. Times can't afford a copy editor, I'd suggest you hire your own. You look like you're garbage tier media when you make mistakes like that.

I was watching Wild Card football, but I did tune in to see Gervais' opening. Not quite as biting as previous years, but still pretty hilarious. His comments about "Cats" were almost as funny as what was posted here on FFF.

Your SJW idiots in the Legacy Media seemed to care a great deal, and they were none to pleased.

Have a nice day.

You're the SJW on this one, pal. OMG! Eddie Murphy didn't smile!

I can't remember the last time I watched or cared about any money grabbing award show - what a joke. Stupid people watching rich people get awards and paying for it by buying those commercial products... sad as f*ck.

He should host every awards show, I love that shot he took at "Cats". If you want to see "Cats" really trashed go to YOUTUBE at type in "Screen Rant Pitch Meeting Cats", it's gut busting funny.

Did you even read the article or my response, dummy?

I'm making fun of the woman who wrote the article. I laughing at the fact that Eddie Murphy didn't smile. She's vindicated by it, and the rest of the article goes on to praise these rich idiots for ignoring Ricky and talking about politics again all night while blowing themselves and each other on a show that nobody but the rich left wing idiots gives a single shit about.

Well... on this one thing we actually agree.

You couldn't pay me to watch one of these things, but it is funny listening to lefty SJW idiots whine about Ricky Gervais and him standing up there with an empty bag of fucks to give.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Far more people have watched this 8 minute opening monologue than tuned in for the actual show.

America loves a winner!

Best 8 minutes of any award show I've ever watched.

And the YouTubers were loving it too. RG absolutely torched Hollywood on all the key points... phony virtue signaling, palling around w/ pedos and praising each other for their wokeness while all these big companies rake in obscene profits from sweatshops in China and other 3rd world counties.

I figured Dim and Dimmer would like his set. Rethugs thinks it's popular to run around insulting everyone at every possible venue, but if someone did the same to a room full of "family values" rethugs they would be screaming bloody murder. Gervias is pandering for a paycheck. Sad that he would stoop so low.

I can't wait until the dirt rolls out on Gervais. It always does with that type. See if he takes it so well.

Again, RG is far from being any sort of conservative. He's a liberal, from the UK. Similarly to, I suspect, Terry Gilliam. So all this whining about ' rethugs ' is just too precious!

He'a pandering to US CONSERVATARDS, O dense one.

There's not a whole lot of Rethugs that are entertaining because they lack imagination, so he's looking to fill a nitch and get $$$paid$$$.
