He doesn't.

I know - been watching this thread. What brains he hasn't flushed down the toilet are definitely not functioning properly, even for him. Try to have a rational discussion but he bolts or insults or both, just like many times earlier in this thread.

This is Trump's Amerika - lots of irrational, pissed off people all over the place. It's what he does - The Great Divider.

We'll see on November 4th.

In the mean time, we're long past the point I try explaining things to retards.

Like I said... no discussion, no logic, no thinking. You ever seen this country this divided and pissed off?

I wonder - do you suppose Putin is paying Trump a bounty for every dead American caused by Trump Flu?
Naw! He doesn't have to pay him anything! Trump is doing it for FREE!

All Putin has to do on any of these many calls they've had recently is butter him up, "You are testing so much, Donnie! Incredible! How are you able to do that? It's like a miracle! Pat yourself on the back!
Me? What are we doing? Ah, my best people say it will just disappear if we just wait it out. We're going to save millions."

Seriously, Trump is Putin's dream US president. Killing more Americans than any recent war - Putin couldn't have imagined how he could have inflicted as much death on America without even firing a single a bullet.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

JACK - do you really think the election is going to determine anything about the nature of COVID-19?

Yanno - it's a giant political poll ... and we know about polls. They measure people's opinions. But since when does political opinion determine the nature of reality?

I'm not partisan. I loathe Democrats in 2020, but they make it easy to do. I've always never been a fan of Republicans.

I'm 100% behind Trump though. Who is an 80's Democrat. Who is not loved by many Republican politicians and didn't get GWB's endorsement.

I posted farther back in the thread about sports.

Well, there is good news on that front. The Vancouver Canucks are the only Canadian team still standing in the Stanley Cup play offs. They just gave the boot to the Saint Louis Blues the reigning Stanley cup winners.

Vancouver has now moved on to the second round. Canucks Nation is on the rise.

Though there was an incident at a baseball game over the weekend.

I presume this is a real question that I'll attempt to answer.

1) Use the defense production act to ramp up masks and other ppe, ventilators, and especially testing, to adequate levels.
Now, in hindsight, ventilators weren't the dividing line between life and death for many patients. So that would have been a wasted effort. But AT THE TIME, it seemed important, and you can only go with the best information you have AT THE TIME.
AT THE TIME the testing failures were excruciatingly frustrating especially because there was a recognized international laboratory test available, as was the lack of ppe.
I would definitely have addressed all those ASAP, including using the defense production act to address supply-chain problems.

2) On a related note, I would have rolled out the SARS-CoV-2 surveillance system (that was supposed to come online, but never did, because of lack of testing).
Now there are all sort of technical and structural reasons why this would have been difficult, besides the CDC choking on test kits and supply chain issues - and that has to do with the US system being a hodgepodge of incompatible, competing, small-scale, siloed centers worried about profitability. But that's what the defense production act is for.

3) I would have shut down the borders more completely ASAP. Again, this is trying to place myself back when rather than use hindsight, but at the time I thought it was a good idea, underused.

4) I would have recommend a cordon sanitaire to highly affected areas and made available federal resources to any area trying to impose one.

Anyway, I need to get on with my day before it gets too horribly hot, and there are other things I recall being really frustrating at the time, but this is what I have for now.

Jacks taken a page out of sig and kiki's playbook. Jack suggests that because people die everyday for all sorts of reasons, people dying due to Trumps failures is meaningless. Not so moron.

Fallacy of Relative Privation

The fallacy of relative privation, or appeal to worse problems, is an informal fallacy which attempts to suggest that the opponent's argument should be ignored because there are more important problems in the world, despite the fact that these issues are often completely unrelated to the subject under discussion. A well-known example of this fallacy is the response "but there are children starving in Africa," with the implication that any issue less serious than that is not worthy of discussion.

It goes on but you get the point. Jacks an ass. He has no good argument so he resorts to a fallacy of relative privation. How many people die in this country every day. That's two separate issues dummy.

How many died from Hurricane Katrina? 1,833. But it was a big news story that got President Bush into big trouble. Maybe the hurricane should have been ignored as nothing compared to how many die per year. Republicans are ignoring Covid-19 as less than nothing:

Speaker after speaker at the Republican National Convention referred to Covid-19, if at all, in the past tense. Their not-so-subtle message was that the pandemic is over, but it keeps killing as many people per day as Katrina. It is a Katrina level catastrophe every day, month after month.

If I had to pick a single day when America lost the fight against the coronavirus, it would be April 17. That was the day when Trump proclaimed his support for mobs — some of whose members were carrying guns — that were threatening Democratic state governments and demanding an end to social distancing. “LIBERATE MINNESOTA,” he tweeted, followed by “LIBERATE MICHIGAN” and “LIBERATE VIRGINIA, and save your great 2nd amendment.” (That last bit reads an awful lot like an incitement to armed insurrection.)

In so doing, Trump, in his eagerness to see good economic numbers, chose to disregard warnings from health experts that returning to business as usual would lead to a new surge in infections. And while the Democratic governors he targeted mostly ignored his taunts, many Republican governors, especially in the Sunbelt, rushed to remove restrictions on restaurants, bars, even gyms.

The result was a vast national catastrophe as big as Katrina, but repeated day after day after day.

Coronavirus model projects more than 317,000 US Covid-19 deaths by December

A well-known coronavirus model previously cited by the White House forecasts more than 317,000 US deaths from Covid-19 by December.

As of Friday morning, the model from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington projects that 317,312 people may die from the illness -- marking an increase of about 8,000 deaths from a previous estimate the model projected a week ago.

Jack has the same problem comrades kiki and sig have.

As Trumps Presidency unfolds. They find different ways to deflect away from any and all, the tragedy created by Trumps failures regarding the virus. Any and all, mayhem in the streets due to Trump. Any and all, harm to our relations with our allies. Any and all, of his stupid foreign policy decisions and pandering to dictators. Any and all, of his attempts to dismantle our democratic institutions. Any and all, of his complete disregard for the rule of law. Any and all, of his trolling tweet attacks against good and honorable people. Any and all, of his thousands upon thousands of lies.

The list of Trumps any and all’s is endless. So I'll just say; all the different ways comrades kiki sig and Jack find to defend him shows who they are. It also shows the issues they complain about are completely and thoroughly disingenuous. They have no real concerns, other than Trump staying in the White House.

This post fits into any discussion as a response to the crap Trumps supporters post in any thread. This is it in a nut shell. This is the discussion. This is the point.
