Trump could prove he is honest by making his tax returns from the last 5 years available. Since he won’t, he proved he is dishonest. God could prove real, but since God won’t make proof available, God is in the same trouble as Trump. Trump and God are believed despite the trivial effort neither will give to prove themselves.

The electoral college favors Trump, so that would be your unstated reason for favoring the electoral college. The actual guys who added the electoral college to the Constitution saw that it was a mistake, but one that could not be removed because of politics. Politics of 2020 still prevent the mistake from being corrected. Now, as in 1787, it’s seen as a critical way of preventing large urban centers from dominating the political process at the expense of rural areas.

a) Do you still believe that the Vietnam was was winnable, or even worth "winning"? what would "winning" have looked like, anyway? Originally it started out as Vietnamese war of independence from French colonial masters. How did we wind up on the wrong side of that fight, anyway?

b) Did you not notice that more young men were persuaded to fight by Kennedy (a Massachusetts Democrat) and Johnson (a Texas Democrat) than by Nixon (a California Republican)? IT'S TRUE! Under Kennedy, total armed forces increased from 2.4 to 2.7 million, and under Johnson it jumped from 2.7 to 3.5 million, almost a million-man increase. The VERY FIRST year that Nixon took office, total armed forces dropped from 3.5 to 3.1 million, and by the end of his Presidency fell to 2.2 million - lower than when Kennedy first took office.

I guess that you didn't realize that you were coming in on the tag-end of a pointless conflict that was already winding down.

What Second seems to want is a God that intervenes and micromanages constantly in every single affair and decision that 7.5 Billion people make on a daily basis. Or even better, a God that created man to be perfect and always make the correct decision that is right and good not only for himself but for every other single person that exists and will ever exist in the future. (Which, lets face it, would have resulted in mankind reaching some equilibrium with the planet at some point and never coming close to reaching 7.5 Billion people in the first place).

What that would require is a complete and utter lack of free will.

We would be nothing more than preprogrammed automatons that are just carrying out our code, giving even less meaning to what in all likelihood amounts to a pretty pointless existence in the grand scheme of things already.

Why am I not at all surprised that a Leftist Authoritarian would want humans to behave in such a way?

How about God showing that God exists by handing down a third copy of the Ten Commandments? Moses broke the first copy. The second copy is in a Government warehouse, at least according to the movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark". It has been 3,400 years since God carved the second copy and it is about time for God to carve some more stone tablets. That would be proof God exists. Humans would remain free to disobey those latest commandments as they have disobeyed the previous two sets of commandments.
