81 of the 375 hospital cases in Australia yesterday are in intensive care.

61 of the 375 hospital cases in Australia yesterday are on a ventalator

78% of the 375 hospital cases in Australia yesterday were fully vaccinated.

17% of the 375 hospital cases in Australia yesterday were partially vaccinated.

95% of the 375 hospital cases in Australia yesterday were at least partially vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Australia has been under totalitarian house arrest that makes them look more like China trying to stop this.

There IS NO STOPPING IT.

Everyone will get Covid. Every single person. Just like I said from the beginning.

And your vaccines don't do shit to stop Covid. (What do they actually do?)

Also, just like I said from the beginning.

Australia has 102,723 total confirmed COVID-19 cases out of a population of 25,875,975, or about 0.4% of the population. For every Australian to get COVID-19, there's roughly 99.6% of the population to go.

Australia has 1279 total COVID-19 deaths.

Australia has 10,861,999 people who are fully vaccinated or roughly 42% of the total population (though not everyone in the total population is eligible for a vaccine). Since partial vaccination counts for nothing, those figures are ignored. Of the 10,861,999 fully vaccinated, ~ 293 are in intensive care.

Yep. Australia is a failure when it comes to dealing with COVID-19 (as compared to the US's appx 700,000 dead).

Only fully vaccinated people have any meaningful protection. So why do you even blab about partially vaccinated?
Quote:

17% of the 375 hospital cases in Australia yesterday were partially vaccinated.

A lot of countries have vastly limited COVID-19. So if you really think that
Quote:

There IS NO STOPPING IT. Everyone will get Covid. Every single person.
then why is Australia 99.6% away from that prediction?

And if Australia is such an vivid example of policy and vaccine failure why does it only have 1279 COVID-19 deaths in the entire country?

You know, I could also explain that you completely failed to think about confounding factors in your numbers, for example that the elderly and at-risk are the ones that could have been targeted for vaccines, meaning they were most at risk anyway, and while the vaccines help they don't entirely erase the risk discrepancies.

In any case, I see you've given up on your 'Australia' example.

This link definitely needs explanation. These 'excess deaths' from average - it looks like they're from all causes - COVID-19 isn't listed specifically. So who knows what these people died from. Do you?

And what is their baseline? The say it's "% change from average". And that's the average of what? This year's rolling average? Multiyear average?

And what are the error bands? No one year is going to be exactly like another year. Even 'normal' years have excess deaths that go up and down year to year. So when looking at multiyear averages, one also needs to know what's the expectable variation.

Anyway, 'excess deaths' can be a useful indicator that something unusual is happening. But you need to know what are these deaths being compared to (what's the baseline) and what are the errors bands. Here's an example of excess deaths for the US, where error limits have been taken into account. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm

And just fyi your link doesn't actually include all of August, which is appx weeks 30-34 inclusive. It only goes to week 32.

That aside, there are other problems with your figures. For example, did you know that if you start with one and add only one more you increase by 100% ???? It's true! If you start with a very small number and add a mere one extra your percentage increase is HUGE!! So while Iceland for example had a large increase in 'percentage' excess deaths', in real numbers they were 9 "excess deaths" in week 31 and 8.2 in week 32 out of a total population of roughly 344,000. This is not exactly the Black Plague. And that's the problem of percentages of small numbers. It's also a problem of small numbers in themselves. Because a fluke can change the numbers. In Iceland, a bad car crash that kills 4 shows up as a serious increase of deaths.

Qatar isn't even in your link, so I have no idea where you're pulling your numbers from.

Spain's vaccination rollout peaked at the beginning of July 2021. Since then new deaths/ day peaked at 201 and are now at 39. To put that in perspective, before vaccinations, in April Spain peaked at 1623 new deaths/ day.

And so on. These numbers don't show what you claim.

Anyway, since

1) 'partially vaccinated people' is a meaningless figure, please don't refer to it again
2) vaccines weren't meant to prevent infections, please don't refer to 'cases' again (that said, the worst-case scenario at present is that vaccines prevent almost 2/3 of infections, so they're not useless, just not 100%
3) no vaccine is ever 100% (not even the lifesaving, highly effective, and extremely useful rabies vaccines), please don't declare 'failure' for figures less than 100% again.

These are all invalid arguments.

42% of Australians are vaccinated.

All but about 19 of the Australians who are hospitalized had decided to enter the vax protocol. That is 95%.

What a sales pitch.

And then kiki is also whining that Australia does not have an invasion of 2 million infected per year crossing their southern border, and shipped inland to infect everybody else. They need a NY, NJ, MA, IL, MI type response to help spread more death.

When I wrote about Australia's successful policies that kept COVID-19 at bay and prevented many deaths, closing the borders was certainly included in there. So why you think I'm complaining about their closed borders is beyond me.

Well that's a complete lie. I've posted I'm against them. Signy OTOH has posted that they're a valuable tool to halt runaway infection. And you don't have a problem with that. So maybe you need to stow away your distress over being shown to be wrong, and think a bit more clearly about what I actually post.

I only posted about Australia because YOU posted that they were a great failure. But they're not. Australia has done a great job keeping COVID-19 out and keeping it from spreading. I'm sorry that that facts don't back you up, but that's reality for you.

Other countries with other policies - that don't have the advantage of an ocean sized-moat around them - have used different polices and also gotten great results.

Sydney and Melbourne account for 40% or more of Australia's population.
So, 60% would be a majority. It could even be called a clear majority. But it is very, very far from being a "vast majority" in any sense.
I realize that at your old age is is difficult to learn new tricks like maths, but perhaps try to at least make friends with math, so you look less the fool so often.

40% of the population would be similar to saying America minus CA, NY, IL, and MI. The rst of America is doing well.

Outside? I've never once worn a mask outside. Not going to start doing it now.

Maybe on Halloween I will. I'll pretend that I'm an idiot afraid of Covid.

Lefty shill site The Atlantic asks "why don't we even discuss when we're going to lift Covid restrictions anymore?"

They don't ever give that authority back, bitch. This is our new normal now. Things will never be the way they were before April of 2020.

That's what you fucking get for celebrating tyranny.

Welcome to post-freedom America.

Pat yourself on the back.

Well, according to you 60% of Australians live in the desert. At least those 60% spread all across the Australian desert - and also in cities like Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart, etc and villages and town all across Australia - have no COVID-19 spike.

You were talking about geographically, after moving your goalposts a few times.
The Outback does represent about 64% of the entire landmass of Australia, so at least you got that part right. But the population of The Outback is quite sparse.

Southwest Airlines cancels 1,800 flights and blames the not-bad weather for it after air traffic controllers called in sick because they're not going to get vaccinated.

Legacy Media totally complicit and letting them get away with that lie.

Go figure, huh?

Huh.
The reports I saw said that the SW Pilots had a sick out due to Vax Mandates, as well.

Well of course your right wing sources are saying that. It just happens to align with what their audience wants to hear this time. Those boner pills and cell phone plans don't sell themselves.

Legacy Media refers to the Lefty trash out there. Righty trash is equally full of lies when it suits them.

Regarding this news story, Left wing news sources are telling you that it's because of the weather.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Well, you're so stupid you claimed that outside of Sydney and Melbourne Australia was a desert.

I was trying to point out that not only does Australia have major cities besides those 2 - some of which I listed, there's a whole shitload of Australia that's neither Sydney, Melbourne, nor Outback.

Try to learn something about the real world, will 'ya?

Or, keep posting your own brand of insanity and keep trying to pretend you're, yanno, smart. Or at least average! I don't really care.

JSF is an idiot. It's that simple.
