Hey, I was just wondering - are there any of us in Oklahoma? I'd like to meet a few Browncoats in person for once.

There's a fella from OKC over at www.cantstoptheserenity.com
There should be a Browncoats group in OK. Have you tried getting those folks together?

I've always wanted to, but never actually gotten around to doing so (financial complications force me to use 26.4k dialup, so I've never been anything approaching an active partcipant in the online community). However, I intend to start trying now. I'm doing what I can to gather converts, but if anyone knows of any more existing Oklahoma browncoats let me know here.

What area? There's a group in OKC region. There are folks in the Green Country region, but I don't know that they get together...at least they didn't when I lived there. Also try MeetUp. A good place to look are faires. The Bedlam Bards sometimes hit the OK Faires and often times Browncoats will come out to support them. Good luck.

I live in the southeastern part of the state at the moment (although I'm planning on moving to Broken Arrow within the next three years). The closest "town", if you can call it that, is Porum. I don't expect there to be many of us in this area, as things like "television" are a foreign concept to most of the people I've met here (apologies if there are any Porumites on the forum). However, I would be quite happy with joining a preexisting group in one of the more civilized parts of the state (or northeastern Texas or southwestern Arkansas) or trying to organize a group if one doesn't yet exist. OKC is simply too far away to be practical, but a group in Tulsa or Muskogee or somewhere similar would work. The only problem is, I'm sure there are tons of us who aren't involved in or simply don't know about the online community (I was in this category until, like, two days ago), so finding people might be difficult. I'll give MeetUp a try, and prowl some of the more active Firefly forums, but any more help would still be appreciated.

(edited to correct small typo; spelling errors annoy me)

There's a great Browncoat in Broken Arrow! Well, he was there two years ago, let's hope he's still there. Look up StillShiny. He checks in from time to time and should be able to receive PMs. There is a MeetUp group, or was, in the Tulsa area.

I think there is a Texas or Arkansas group in that area.

Good luck!

Thanks. By the way, just out of curiosity, where in this great state do you hail from?
