Perhaps drifting a tad off topic here...but wondering if any folk had seen any Joss references (for any of his shows) around..

I'm pretty damn sure Charlie Kaufman is referencing him when one of his characters in Being John Malkovitch (names Charlie) says:

Hot lesbian witches! That's just genius!

Also there's a Buffy reference in an early Six Feet Under episode when Claire goes on a hiking trip and her youth leader has...relations shall we say, with one of her friends.

"This mummy hand has ceased to exist! It is an ex-mummy hand!"

There was a good one on "Gilmore Girls" earlier this season that surprised the hell out of me. Rory is talking to her roommate, Paris, who's getting ready to go out for the night.

Rory asks her, "Isn't it kind of late to be going out? Who are you hoping to meet up with, Spike and Drusilla?"

That may not be an exact quote, but it's pretty close. Shocked me out of my seat.

I believe in Farscape John Crichton has mentioned Buffy the Vampire Slayer at least once, but I can't remember the context... possibly to do with Scorpius, who looks sort of vampire-like.

I kind of remember that one. It was a season two episode and he was talking to somebody about how long it would take him to get back to earth (I think, memory vague here, if anybody remembers this better, please help). Anyway, he basically just started listing all of the people who would be dead by the time he got back to earth and Buffy was one of them.

Actually, that one's a reference to that famous Monty Python's Flying Circus sketch... The Pet Shop

Sorry, that wasn't a quote of what was said, that's just my signature.

The Six Feet Reference just described someone as a "Buffy" I think...

"This mummy hand has ceased to exist! It is an ex-mummy hand!"

Joss's Astonishing X-men comics were mentioned in the OC this season.

Oh, and speaking of comics...

In one of my favorite titles, Runaways, in one arc a character encounters a vampire. One of the traditional 'vampire killing' ways doesn't manage to kill him, and he says, "Sorry, kid, Whedon got it wrong."

(of course, Joss Whedon himself wrote into the letters page for issue #18)
