WINDWALKER

I just came back from the video store and went to see how many Serenity videos were out and they are ALL there sitting on the shelf while other videos released the same time are gone for the weekend.
What's up with people out there? Don't they know Serenity is one of the best Scifi movies made?
We must organize and create a mission to help spread the word of FireFly

Serenity Prayer: God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

went recruiting Browncoats in St. Charles, Missouri (just visitin' mind you) and got them to go to blockbuster to rent the thing and EVERY SINGLE ONE of the DVDs was GONE!!!

We went to Target and bought the damn thing. Count one more convert.

I am hoping that WINDWALKER's experience is the only one?

My daughter in Santa Ana, CA went to Blockbuster last night to rent a movie (she owns Serenity, Browncoat of course) and she checked just like she always does and all the copies were rented. She asked the clerk ( who she knows) if they were still flying off the shelf, he said yes and that they were having trouble getting them back to rent again. So... hope it is that way for other places.

It's still renting well here in my little hometown.

WHITEFALL

Of course I ordered it ASAP, but my friend who saw it with me in theaters was trying to rent it since it came out... he finally got to see it again only when i brought over my copy. So, I dunno.

I survived a day in Whitefall and all I got was this lousy signature!

Anyone know how much Serenity has grossed so far including DVD sales?
We need to make enough for a sequel!!!

Quick Question - does rental revenue 'count'? I mean, is anyone high up keeping track of figures?

Sorry, it's just my day off work today and I don't particularly feel like looking it up.

Yeah,
I live in Laguna Niguel Ca, and everytime Ive gone into Blockbuster since Serenity was released every copy has been rented out. So its seems they need more copies in so. calif. to rent out.

Whereabouts in the Upstate New York are you in?

I'm in the Albany area.

DVDs seem to be selling well around here. I'm not sure of renting wise though.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

Don't bring up those guys. They couldn't review their way out of a paper bag if their life depended on it.

Ah, I see. Whereabouts in the Capital District do you hail from? I'm finding it hard to find Browncoats around here. There are a few but not as many as it seems other places have.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

Underestimating demand seems to be par for the course with all things Serenity related. Hopefully all the people who miss it will buy it instead or rent it later when it's back in.

I was afraid of something:
A person who rents the movie pays again and again to watch it, a person who buys the movie pays one time, and one time only.

Think about what we've been hearing, people who see the movie buy the movie, if Serenity really is as good as we all say rentals aren't going to be good, at all.

-

On the other hand we are also hearing that the rental places are constantly out.

This means that there is non-browncoats willing to see this movie. This is the market Joss wanted to get at. This can prove very very helpful in the long run.
