I was watching Serenity again for the 100th time and I just occured to me that the old battle between Ninjas and Pirates was happening right before my eyes. Malcom of course the Pirate and the Operative as the Ninja. This might have been seen before, but I thought I might just bring it up just in case.

The operative killed, but he didn't freak out, and we all know ninjas freak out and kill people ALL the time.
Maybe Joss didn't want to make it too obvious. He's subtle, that Joss guy.

Plus the operative killed all those friends of the BDHs off-screen, so we're left to guess if maybe he freaked out prior to the killing.
