I had to find the tape, but yes, I have you giving them the shirts. Because of my location, you can only see the side of your face for a split second, but I figure everyone knows it was you.

If you want to wait till this weekend, I should have most of the Firefly-related DragonCon stuff transferred and transcoded. I'd be happy to mail you a DVD, send you a file via GMail or AIM, or set up a torrent for you, your call.

p.s. Seeing as I'm in South Carolina, maybe I should join the Seebkuh ranks?

Hey, here's hoping. I'm just trying to help you refine your arguments, because going from 'I haven't heard anything' to 'I've been told that if there is a movie, Book and Wash will be in it' is not an advancement in their position. It's merely a different way of stating already known information. It's no different than if _I_ said both that we don't know anything yet, and then later said that Tudyk has said that if there was a next movie, he would be in it. It doesn't mean I've come into more information, or that I'm slipping up and releasing information that I'd previously been tight-lipped about, it's merely me saying things that have already been said.

So if you use _that_ to advance your argument that there's something brewing, you're doing yourself a disservice, because it means nothing, and so convinces others you're talking to that you're making a lot out of nothing. The NDA argument is much stronger, so you should stick with that.

Star Pilot Grainger

You're "Pretty Sure"? We need to know "FOR SURE", because if that's the case, it has meaning.

OK, You want the long version.. Fine.. Grab your favorite caffinated beverage...

At the start of Dragon*Con, Alan was SAYING he knew NOTHING about further books/novelizations/movies continuing the 'verse", even going so far as saying "Am I in them?" about the books/continuation-of-the-'verse. Anyone here that was at the first Q&A session at Dragon*con disagree with that summary?

Why this sudden denial of knowing anything about ANY of this, or knowing anything about future movies at The start of Dragon*Con, if he already said he and Book would be in any future movies? Does that make ANY kind of sense to you? And IF you are correct, it only further proves that there is PURPOSEFUL disinformation being put out. Why?

AND notice Summer has said NOTHING on the topic.. Did anyone that was actually at Dragon*Con hear Summer say ANYTHING AT ALL about Future movies? One way or the Other?

As *I* remember it, ANY time someone asked about future movies, Alan IMMEDIATELY took over (Which is believable because Summer is Shy) and Summer backed away from the Mic.. she only talked again AFTER Alan had got the Subject Away from the "Grey areas" (Covered in NDAs), and then discussed her Role in Wash's "Planet where I'm a hero", etc etc (Depending on the panel that day).

Same again when we asked the question privately.. "Alan said" "NDAs", Summer didn't say a WORD on the subject, but talked for quite a while on other topics.

In Hollywood, when something is dead, they SAY "It's dead".. it rallies the "Fan Base", and the last sales of the merchandising, Video sales, etc, spike for a while (To squeeze every last drop of money out of it), and then that drops off as interest wanes because there is NO more news "being leaked out" AT ALL... and then it's over except for small market spikes as something brings the Movie up again for a SHORT time. Hollywood rule of thumb, "don't string the fan base along if there is no hope of further movies/series"... an Angry Fan base is not a good thing.

FireFly/Serenity fans aren't the first Fan base to do "Guerilla Marketing" and won't be the last... But in EVERY documented case we've found, the shows that they said were "Definitely dead", Died.

MANY of the Shows that they pulled this EXACT same stunt of "Dribbles of information" came out again in some form or another.

These "Games" are one of the reasons George Lucas HATED production companies... But BELIEVE they DO play these games, they DO "leak" information, and they DO create dis-information to keep people talking/discussing, etc (Sound familiar?)

Tremors started going "Direct to DVD" after YEARS of rumors, hints, dribbles of info, etc, about it coming back... it got a brief TV series also (Even though fewer and fewer original cast were in the Movies until it was just Bert Gummer left)... and if there was EVER a case study in "Borderline monetary re-coup", Tremors is it.

Point being, This is the EXACT same ploy that's been pulled any time a movie was "Borderline" and then brought back in some form a bit later (and Serenity is now WAY on the other side of "Borderline").

Maybe the Cast IS "Just good friends", but again, in almost every other instance when cast kept in close touch with each other, there was something else in the works.

The Actors took a Monetary Cut in Serenity to allow the Movie to be finished within budget... Maybe it IS a genuine love of the Movie, but the other times this has happened, it was made up to the people that took the monetary cut in the Next movie.. they were Gambling they'd get another movie, and if ALL the actors agreed, you can bet they are pretty sure they'll get another movie to have done that... It happened in Star Wars, and MANY other movies that had sequels.

It's a pattern that's seen over and over and over. It's SPECIFICALLY why I went to Dragon*con, and I saw EXACTLY what we've seen before in Movies that had a GOOD chance of coming back... And (again) Serenity is WAY over the "Borderline" compared to MOST movies that "came back/Continued".

You're talking about a few specific words, I'm talking about patterns in the movie industry spanning YEARS... This is a pattern that has been seen before, MANY, MANY times.

Joss is working on "Wonder Woman" right now and "A few other projects" (Although exactly what those "Other projects" are, is fuzzy).

Universal is handling this BRILLIANTLY.. they are not only holding a fan base, they are increasing it. They are dribbling out hints and "slips" and "Possibilities", and pulling in more money from DVD sales Each month than they did the month before... HOWEVER, Movie producers like Universal don't like "Making money back slowly", they want to see a movie in the black in the First 2-3 weeks... I have NO DOUBT at this point, after hearing what I heard this past weekend, that Universal is doing this ON PURPOSE so that the next movie goes into the black within the first few weeks.

We, As fans that are working hard to smooth the road out for a return, like to believe *we* are directly responsible for "Another Movie" (or whatever).. and that's true to a point, it DOES have a positive impact... BUT, Production companies ROUTINELY seed Fan Sites with the "Dribbles of information" we CONSTANTLY see. And the UP side of that for a production company is that it saves them Money because the FANS do the Job of Getting other Fans interested, something a HUGE advertising budget wouldn't pull off as well.. in ANY business another rule of thumb, "Your best advertisers are your customers".

But, C'mon, OJ Simpson was found "Responsible" on MUCH less evidence "As a whole" than this.

Market research is ONE of the things we do. I've seen all I need to see to be convinced it's coming back, Every person has to make up their own minds with ALL of the information and research before them to cut through production company games. I've done MY homework, I've produced my Evidence with Pictures, Audio, Links, etc, in this, and other, threads... HARD evidence. Not "I think", or "someone said", or "I Heard"... Hard evidence, bought with MY OWN sweat and money.

I love FF/Serenity as much as anyone, but I am also a realist and businessman, if I wasn't "Sure" another movie was coming, I wouldn't be wasting *my* time and money on this.

Hi, I spent 3 days at Dragon Con, saw all 3 panels (will link to photos soon after sorting them and uploading them). I also uploaded photos of the Shindig (albeit around midnight since it was really tough to get into at the start of it around 10 p.m. on Saturday night), and here is the link to the Shindig photos:

Bad2Verse,

First, I want to say thank you for sharing your d*con experiences. And thank you even more for sharing your insights and experiences with the business end of things re: work we can do to get more of this 'Verse. In the short time you've been here, you've made tremendous contributions to the community, and I hope you stick around.

I do want to clarify, as StarPilotGrainger has, that it is old news that Alan and Ron would be included in whatever future Serenity project comes. Joss declared this very, very early on, as there was quite a bit of unrest in the community in the wake of their characters sudden, unexpected deaths. The details of what Alan said - that he wasn't sure how, exactly, they would come back, but that they would - are exactly in line with Joss's earlier comments. (And when I say 'early' I mean prior to Serenity's Box Office being totaled.)

The point being, much of what you're presenting seems reasonable and valid, but not that point. Alan's early 'no news' comments were likely in the specific context (at least in his mind) of the business end of it, while the later 'if there's a movie we'll be in it' comments were more of a creative, story-line pondering. As fans we've heard and seen so much of how well the cast get on together, that Alan and Ron's possible exclusion from any future films left many people distraught. That is what those comments are really addressing. These same types of responses to questions about the future of the franchise have been pretty consistent over the last year, or so.

At these cons, the actors are often put in a position where they don't want to say anything too disappointing, but they don't want to say anything too promising, either - NDAs or not. So there has always been a whole lot of studdering. The actors are not given lines, and are not lawyers or execs, and hard-to-kill rumors have been started from innocent remarks at cons in the past.

I agree with your overall optimism about the future for FF/S, but only based on some of your arguments for it. I agree that it is important to refine your arguments to the indisputable truth (if there is such a thing), because those who can discount part of your reasoning with their own personal knowledge and experience of the saga of this franchise, will simply discount the rest of your arguments as similarly misguided. I encourage you to tap the resource of your fellow Browncoats to help distill those truths.

Again, your argument is not wrong, but it is based on a limited context at the con, and lacking the broader backround of the ups and downs and cryptic answers to the same questions since before Serenity's release.

Thank you for your efforts, and please do keep up the enthusiasm and the fight!

Universal put too much faith in this approach with the marketing for Serenity, with less than stellar results. While I am sure that the fanbase is larger now, we still suffer from the fact that fanbase runs deep, not wide. Universal misinterpreted our intensity as breadth, and basing an assertion about our numbers on the size of Browncoat turnout at Dragon*Con is making the same error.

Why this sudden denial of knowing anything about ANY of this, or knowing anything about future movies at The start of Dragon*Con, if he already said he and Book would be in any future movies? Does that make ANY kind of sense to you?

Absolutely. It makes perfect sense to me. People aren't robots. People forget pertinent information for a while while they're talking. People interpret questions in ways that might lead to giving two different answers to very similar questions. People make jokes that don't hold up to avanced scrutiny, to get a quick laugh. All of these can lead to two different answers to the same general question, especially when both answers are things they've already said long ago.

You use the knowledge that humans aren't robots when you discuss stuttering and such, why not take it to the rational outcome instead of dismissing it and assuming people do behave like robots when it serves your argument?

If someone says they haven't heard anything about future movies, it doesn't mean that they're lying, if it's actually the case (and they reveal it later) that they've heard from Joss that if there was another movie, he'd be in it. It could mean he don't consider what he heard from Joss 'hearing anything about future movies'. Maybe he felt it was important not to (from his perspective) lie to people and he wanted to set them straight that he hasn't heard anything about a movie. Then, later, once his conscience was clear from that, he felt more free to answer hypotheticals and say again about how Joss told him that IF there another movie, he'd be in it.

Again, I'm not discussing the argument as a whole, and indeed some of the rest of it sounds like it could be plausible (I still refuse to get my hopes up, just on general principle- that way I can only be pleasantly surprised, not disappointed). I'm saying this particular point of it is nonsense. And, people being as they are (not robot-like), a nonsense point is liable to make them dismiss your WHOLE analysis, because they figure, if you make one nonsense point, or making connections that clearly aren't there, or making too much of information that was already known before Serenity's box office was known, perhaps you're making other ones that they just didn't spot. So I'm suggesting, if you want people to believe your speculations, you don't include that particular point in your argument, as it's a nonsense point. IMHO.

Man does this thread bring the emotions up and down. I hear what everyone is saying and being more optimistic I want to believe Bad2 more.

I will agree with a lot of what has been posted about the feelings some ppl are left with from the D*C is the same "song and dance". Why would an actor with any heart at all want to be the one to get up in front of thousands of fans and say "That's it! There ain't no more!" Don't think that statement would make them very popular.

Bad2Verse, I like that you are quite an informed browncoat. If there is a line drawn in the sand about the info coming out of D*C I will gladly stand on your side.

Seems it's coming into a numbers game.Well it has been all along.IMO the numbers are there. If not a movie then why not a mini-series. That would show how much generated interest there is in a new FF/Serenity re-awakening.If a new movie were made I would be sure to go see it(I didn't last time. I didn't even know of Firefly then). Not one time but several and the family would go too. I'm talking extended family here.Brothers, sisters, cousins. I'll even take my dog spike and pay for him a seat. Browncoats do know that any sequel would have to do very well. Therefore this time around we will come out in force. Hell I'll even pay for friends of mine to go see Serenity2 for free. Now that's a deal. What I do believe is somebody somewhere is watching. The browncoats at D*C were many and I am proud of each one of them. But for every browncoat on a web fansite there are 30,40 or more that just won't join a fansite of any kind. They love FF/Serenity and they'd go to see a new movie but their coat is a little dusty and they sit back a little. I know I'm married to one.

I'm with you Bad2. If you feel the info coming out of D*C is a positive sign I am hopeful. I know sequels to other movies have been made that have a lot less going for them that this one.

I've gotten a little long so I'll end now. But just as I've said before, there's money to be made. And lots of it for smart ppl.

WINDSTRUCK

I am agreeing with BAD here.
There are indeed signs as to a possibility of another movie made. And the signs are indeed there and cryptic as to "other irons in the fire" message by Joss.
Universal is still making money on the DVDs. As to SEEDING the fanbase, YES, I recognize the strategy. Maybe the execs are fishing.

I also have to agree on the possiblity that: I don't want to be the actor to tell the fanbase (my fanbase) that what they are fighting for to keep alive is already dead. That there is nothing more.

But I believe there will be more movies. I'm thinking dominoes (not the pizza).

Another thing:

Alan and Summer maybe reading this, I hope they don't think that these little arguments means that we are losing faith. Coz' we aint and we'll keep shinin'.

Plenty more pics coming from Friday and Sunday. Jayne hats galore, browncoats, and the other crazy costumes we've come to expect from Dragon*Con.

I just had a blast seeing how many browncoats there were. The ranks have grown so much since last year. And the Jayne hats were multiplying like so many rabbits! Firefly was easily the biggest draw at the con.

RIMGIRL

I'm another recruit from after the first movie came out. There are a lot of us who are kicking ourselves that we weren't signed up in time to swell the Serenity box office (and I see that you do too). The deep fanbase gets wider every day. I think Universal has twigged to our breadth and large disposable income.

Nobody has mentioned De Candido's about face. In earlier interviews about future books, he said that the ball was in Joss' court because he was sitting on several proposals. At D*C he says NDA. Are some of those proposals being considered as future film plots?

Maybe books, maybe comics, maybe a mini-series, maybe direct to video, maybe a new BDS or BDM. Whatever irons Joss has, I will buy anything, even phantom tickets for opening day.

Stop trying to bring logic to my faith.

I prefer to have hope and be dissapointed, then to think a sequel is unlikly and then suprised.

Well, concerning the sequel. By God I hope Bad2verse is right. But being from Boston (aka Red Sox fan), I'm naturally more of a pessimist. Here 'round these parts, we say, "hope for the best, expect the worst" So I'm gonna play this careful. Cautious optimism, shall we call it? Also, the arguement about Alan's talking. Who would wanna say 'no' to a bunch of Browncoats who don't know the meaning of the word? If anyone were to say 'no', it'd be the producers or the execs, and they haven't said no yet. So yeah, hope for the best.

P.S. Any Yankee fans, even though I'm a die-hard Sox fan, I'd like you to know I fully appreciate and respect the Yankees. (We don't want Browncoats fightin' against Browncoats, now do we?)

I got the same impression you did. He was more confused by the question and was thinking that there were Firefly novelizations out there that he was unaware of (because they do not exist).

I'm hoping the non-Browncoat people at these conventions notice the Browncoats and decide to check out Serenity/Firefly. Even from a library.

I read somewhere that there were 30,000 people at this convention.

Hopefully, a few of them saw that person dressed as Serenity and realized Serenity IS A SPACESHIP--not some movie about a woman named Serenity who has something to do with that guy in the blue poster.

That is some costume...even have the cargo bay door open with a picture of the crew in the doorway.

That is intensity!

First, I want to say thank you for sharing your d*con experiences.

No Problemmo.. Happy to do it, I was feeling sorry for those that I KNOW wanted to be there SO BADLY, and just couldn't for whatever reason... I've been on the other side of that fense MANY times.

Quote:

I do want to clarify, as StarPilotGrainger has, that it is old news that Alan and Ron would be included in whatever future Serenity project comes. (Snipage)

The point being, much of what you're presenting seems reasonable and valid, but not that point. Alan's early 'no news' comments were likely in the specific context (at least in his mind) of the business end of it, while the later 'if there's a movie we'll be in it' comments were more of a creative, story-line pondering.

OH, Now I see where the confusion is coming from... I see that some people (Not knowing about NDAs) assumed I meant "Alan made an Official announcement saying that Universal was committed to making the next film".. I'm sure that's what everyone wanted to hear very badly, so some folks jumped to that conclusion... But No.. that's not what I meant to imply...

So PLEASE allow me to go into some detail to explain it, Now that I have time and am not strung out from the Weekend and the road...

I "Ass-u-me-d" that everyone was reading ALL of the various threads on the whole site (Especially the G-Marketing threads) and that everyone was on the same page.. Mistake on MY part, I "assumed"..

Anyhow, At the start of Dragon*Con when he was acting like he didn't know anything about it, I was thinking "It's dead, The Actors haven't been told anything" (Even if some are right that the cast already knew about Wash and Book Being in another Possible movie months ago... If that's true, it's reason for MORE hope, not less!)...

HOWEVER, when he did his second quote (The one I taped and posted), it was EXACTLY (and I mean so close as to be almost a script) his reaction AFTER FF (the series) was canceled - and just as the actors started finding out that there was a "Good possibility that a movie would be made".

I WISH I had recordings of Alan and the other Actors Stuttering and diverting from that time period... They went from "Don't know anything, Haven't heard anything new about anything", to Almost EXACTLY what Alan said above.. and we found out later that at that point in time they were already informed that Joss was pretty sure a MOVIE was in the offing (and were, as now, covered under an NDA)...

What I was excited about is (Let your minds drift back to that time period after FF but BEFORE the movie announcement).. this is almost EXACTLY word for word, same stuttering, same wording, etc, that Alan used when he found out about the good possibility of a MOVIE being made, but was bound by an NDA... If we had a recording from that time period and compared it to the one above, you'd see what I mean.. and now that I've clarified what I mean, as you start to remember his quotes and manner and stuttering from the old time period (We need a name for that time period), you'll see what I meant.

Bottom line, HE KNOWS SOMETHING.. this is EXACTLY what he did the last time he knew something and couldn't talk about it.

And During that SAME time period, Morena Baccarin was VERY down beat about even the POSSIBILITY of ANYTHING further happening in the 'Verse.. which simply turned out to be her way of getting off the subjects that brushed against the NDAs.. and in another thread here, I saw where another member said that she's doing EXACTLY the same thing again!!!!! "Down beat", "our contracts are just about up" (or words to that effect)... That actually even adds MORE fuel to the whole thing... again, she's doing EXACTLY what she did before when she KNEW there was a good possibility of a movie coming.

Also, Think about Her statement... The Cast from Lord Of The Rings had a Trilogy Contract also, AND worked on all three movies Back to back to back (And overlapping sections) and didn't have to re-build sets, etc.. and THEIR contracts were for MUCH longer than a YEAR.. yet Morena is saying after only a year that their "3 movie contract is about to expire"? You could not POSSIBLY make 3 movies in a year! She's proven in the past that "down beat" is her way of warding off "NDA territory"... and she's DOING IT AGAIN! There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that they could make 3 movies in a year, or even START a second movie within a year. Can we ALL agree on that?

MY point is, During the time period when FF was canceled, and when the Cast started getting information that a movie was in the offing, they Acted the EXACT same way they are acting RIGHT NOW, and said the Same things they are saying right now...

Apologies if anyone thought I meant "He made an official announcement at Dragon*Con about the movie being imminent"... I was Ragged out, and rushed, and didn't give a detailed explanation... I know that's what everyone WANTED to hear... But it was NOT my Intent to imply that.. but I see how people WANTING SO BADLY to hear that would have thought that since I didn't take the time while AT Dragon*Con to explain in detail.

But the "Hope Factor" is up to "certain" in my mind (and will be in anyone's minds that remembers what the cast acted like before the first Movie was "officially announced").. I am sure we have people here that remember that time period, and saw and talked to many of the actors... and now that I have explained in detail, those pieces should "Click" for you too... Does ANYONE else remember what the cast acted like during that time period? It would help if we had SEVERAL other people's input on their actions, words, manner, etc, To compare against their Current actions, words, manner, etc.

But right now, The Cast (that ones I have studied) is doing a MIRROR Image of what they did before... and we got a movie out of it. And they have JUST started acting like this again. (Of course, keep in mind that Joss can't concentrate on another movie until after the whole Wonder Woman thing is finished, so we're looking at AT LEAST another year and a half before ANYTHING "concrete" starts coming out, even if his "Other Fuzzy projects" include writing a new Serenity script, Which is my bet because there's NO other reason for the Guy that does the Novelizations to be under an NDA). Let me also add that if Wonder Woman is a hit, then Joss will have Carte Blanche to do whatever he wants, and he's said MANY times that the 'Verse" has ALWAYS been his pet project since he began making films... He's no where NEAR giving up on it.

When I heard Alan say what I recorded above, I turned to Patience and said, "That is EXACTLY what Alan said, and EXACTLY how he acted, last time in MANY interviews before we found out about a MOVIE in the making"...

Sorry folks, I think "Over the long term", and I look at "Patterns over the long term", and "similarities"... especially in People, since we are ALL creatures of Habit.

If someone subconsciously rubbed their thumb against their nose every time they had a GREAT hand while playing poker, you'd soon know when to start folding.. this is the SAME THING... This is just the Cast's way of "rubbing their nose when they have a good hand"...Even if they don't realize they are doing it.

I hope this Clarifies what I "ass-u-me-d" (I know I know) everyone else knew also... but I realize not everyone reads ALL the threads, or researches and profiles for a living... The people I work with DO, and when they heard the recording, they were all Whooping and saying "That's EXACTLY what he did last time".

And one last point (with Audio Proof)... The Cast took a MONETARY CUT to keep "Serenity" within Budget.. George Lucas did the same thing, and Promised EVERYONE that he'd make it up to them with the next movie (Which some said wasn't ever going to be made after a while of waiting)... I doubt the cast gave up money JUST because of "their love for the 'verse".. that may have been some of it, but I guarantee they were promised that it would be made up in the next project... THAT IS COMMON IN HOLLYWOOD!

Future things to look for.. Forget Summer Glau.. She almost NEVER talks about these things.... and she's not this time either.. BUT when a project is dead, she says "It's dead".. She hasn't said that this time either.

Forget Ron Glass, He ALWAYS laughs at the end of everything he says.. It's simply his way of dealing with insecurity about his speaking ability (I don't know WHY he's insecure about it, He has no reason to be, but he Laughs his head off after almost EVERY statement.)

Nathan (During that time period between FF and Serenity) started Joking a LOT more when it was mentioned to him, and spent a LOT of time on the Phone to other cast members (Especially Alan.. and he's doing THAT again too) but he didn't give out ANY info either, and changed the subject (watch him do it, he's good at diverting direct questions.. does anyone know if he's acting like that again? If so, More fuel) whenever asked direct Questions about ANY type of "FF return"

Adam Baldwin, Got kinda quiet and didn't do a whole lot of talking about the "Future of the 'verse" AT ALL in public, and gave "Cynical funny answers" (That answered nothing) When asked directly last time... again, does anyone know if he's doing that again? It may be slightly different since his child is growing up, and he spends a LOT of time with his family, so he may have changed his habits a bit (i was HOPING to see his mannerism at Dragon*Con, But he had to cancel at the last minute.

I can't say anything about How Jewel Staite acts, I haven't researched her, or talked to anyone about how she acted during that time period... I'll try to get that information, but if anyone here has FIRST HAND knowledge, or opinion, or Memory, PLEASE let us know!

We're ALL creatures of habit, and those habits, once known, can be used to figure out what's on our minds (and MUCH more).. we need LESS speculation, and MORE audio, impressions, reports on how cast members are acting, Your memories of How they Acted during the "Old time period" between FF and Serenity, when they had found out that there was a possibility of a movie, etc.

There's a LOT of people on this site from all over the world that go to various conventions and meet the cast... so as you go to them, PAY ATTENTION to how the cast members are acting, and PLEASE report it back here.. that's "Intel" and it can be used!!!!!

Gimme a break folks, I wouldn't have posted the recording if I was trying to "Stretch the truth".. I would have BS'ed and said the recording didn't come out, or something... But I POSTED the Audio, and gave a brief essay on WHY it was important.... ask anyone that knows me, and they'll tell you I'm "as Honest as they come" and that I am VERY GOOD with Patterns... as I said before, I make a HIGHLY decent living from doing that (But usually about What Gov Officials are doing)... I just have a tendency to assume that EVERYONE understands things that are plain to ME. I'm used to working with the same people to crack open hard projects, and I forget you folks don't know me from Adam's housecat, Nor what I even Do for a living.

We need to "Look for Patterns", Establish HOW each actor dealt with their NDAs last time, and see what PATTERNS are emerging.. that'll even allow us to make a pretty accurate guess as to WHEN the next movie will be announced or released.

AND we can use that information AGAIN for the NEXT movie (after the Second Serenity movie) to determine if there will be a 3rd movie!

I see it like this, Joss went ahead with Wonder Woman to fill time (and make money) while "Serenity Sales" and Fan Base grew, so that when the next movie comes out, it'll make A LOT of money VERY fast (Which UNiversal WANTS, and would guarantee a third movie, or may even bring back a TV series)

We NEED info, We need impressions, We need memories, we need SOLID evidence to build up a study on how these folks behave so we can predict the future of the 'Verse More Accurately!
We need to put all this "Evidence" somewhere so it can be dug up again when needed, So we don't have to keep Starting from Scratch every time, and we HAVE to look for the patterns in Every SCRAP of info we find out.

Dong ma?

It was actually Alan who phoned Nathan. Here's what happened: Summer was joking in that serious cute way she does that she wasn't sad that a certain two characters had died. Alan put this hurt look on his face and took out his cell phone. He dialed Ron's number and was halfway into saying something like "Ron, Summer doesn't like us anymore" (I can't remember the exact quote) when he realized he had dialed Nathan by mistake!! When he tried to put Nathan on speaker phone he accidentally hung up on him, but through the begging of the surrounding browncoats, Alan called Nathan back up and put him on speaker phone. They proceeded to talk about things, many of which I wasn't able to fully hear because a speaker phone into a microphone doesn't exactly sound the greatest. Still though, it was way funny! They even talked about Summer some ;) Then there was a pause and Nathan asked, "...Alan, is Summer there listnening?" Alan said, "Yes Nathan." and in the funniest voice, Nathan replied, "...oh, this is awkward..." The whole thing was hilarious!

I vaguely remember Alan calling Nathan, I was pretty drunk for the entire first panel (though I did manage to stand in line, taking a swig right before asking a question about Summer and the Unit [I was the one who said I watched Dodgeball for Alan even though I hate Ben Stiller, if anyone remembers that]). I got a short video from that (I was actually trying to take pictures, again with the drunkenness).

Anyhow, I am kinda down that I didn't get to meet more of you from the site. The weekend when I have a chance I am going to read this entire thread and also post all of my pictures online (photobucket or flikr or something). You can get to the official board here: http://forums.prospero.com/foxfirefly/

As for the Nathan call, I was under the impression that Alan took out his phone to "call" Ron as a gag, and that Nathan happened to really call at the same time. I do believe our Cap'n asked something like "what are you doing" and Alan replied with "i'm still at the panel".

'Course, what I thought I heard and what actually happened may never cross paths.
