Ah, good that someone else found this. I've been getting the word out for the last couple of weeks, but not too many hits on any of the forums I posted to. Thanks for the update regarding online ticketing; I had someone ask about that. See you on the 10th (I'll be wearing the cunning hat; so will my girlfriend, if I can convince her to).

Tell your girlfriend that if she goes to see Serenity with you and wears a cunning hat, you will take her to see Waitress a comedy/romance film that just premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

oh, so awesome! I will look for the cunning hat :-) At the moment I have no serenity/firefly wear, but I will be bringing one fellow Browncoat and another Browncoat that I converted! (which is the ultimate Serenity wear, in a way!)

must see if I can get a firefly t shirt or something by next week...

Not sure that'll be her cup of Mudder's Milk, but I'll bring it up. I was thinking I'd just pop it on her head when she's not looking. Although, if it's cold out, she may want one anyway, it being rather warm and all. If not, my mother will wear it (she being a massive Firefly fan herself)

Someday, we'll look back on all of this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

Well, she's more of a Wash gal (think that's why she's dating me; she being a warrior woman...me...being a massive geek...), but perhaps she'll be interested in Capt. Tightpants.

wants to know where to buy the tickets online.

So do you know how close they are to selling out?

Honestly, I doubt it's gonna sell out. The crowd's reaction to the announcement of the BDM has been less than enthusiastic (the cheering at the prospect consisting of myself and my brother). I've never seen the theater completely fill up, even with the more popular movies (the most I've seen were Pulp Fiction and the Big Lebowski; the theater was about 2/3 full for them).

However, if he's really set on purchasing online, here's the link to the site:

Gillacatan,

Thanks for the link. I've posted it overthere.

Ravenshadow said "I got a crew of about ten coming and def want to make sure I have tickets."

Well, the guy will definitely have more people than he was expecting (I think his target number was about a dozen), so it's a good thing

exactly - when I phoned the theater to ask when the tickets would be available online the guy on the phone sounded really surprised that I would want to buy tickets ahead of time. So, I explained that I was coming from the Pomona area so wanted to have tickets in hand (and was a little concerned giving the Browncoat community that it could sell out) the guy was surprised and said "wow, i didn't know this movie had a cult following" (!!!!?) HOW is it people still don't know about this movie, this series and this movement!!?

Anyway, I really have to give the guy kudos for saying he would put the tickets online. Especially as he said he would do it in the next 10 minutes and when I tried about 5 minutes later it was all set up. He is my new BDH.

The guy who is showing the movie knows about its cult following, but he leases the screen from that theater every week (he's not the owner). I imagine you got the owner, or the manager or something.

So hmmm, maybe the owner or manager will take a gander at Serenity and we will then have another Browncoat theater owner/manager!
