I'm sorry, guys. I know you all really want to continue this, but honestly, I'm not having fun with it anymore.
All we're doing is re-hashing the film, and frankly, Joss Whedon already did it, and did it far better than I ever could.

I'm bored. This isn't original story telling. We've all done really well to create characters who are fun, interesting, and challenging, so why are we forcing them to wade through someone elses creation this way? I was totally against it to begin with and now I feel like I'm stuck doing something I really don't want to do.

I'll try to get Mal, Inara, and Sammy back to the ship, but then I think it's time for Sammy to move on.

By "move on" do you mean gone for good or gone until she remembers who she is? RE: Doing the BDM: I don't like it either, but it's a must to get the movie out of the way, so we can continue to have more original adventures.

"Pulse beacon." repeated the Operative.

It didn't matter if the hacker was in league with Captain Reynolds are not. She'd get her compeuppance sooner or later and just maybe by his sword. Yes the death of the hacker would certainly please the Operative and get rid of an annoyance.

"Advice from an old tracker: you wanna find someone, use your eyes." replied Mal.

The Operative's voice remained calm, coll and collected as he said "Captain Reynolds, I should tell you so that you don't waste your time. You can't make me angry."

"Oh please, spend an hour with him." commented Inara.

Sammy giggled at Inara's response as Mal smiled, then glared at Inara, mouthing "Hey."

The Operative spoke, not carrying about the squabbling between Mal and the Companion "I want to resolve this like civilized men. I'm not threatening you. I'm unarmed."

"Good!" shouted Mal, as he went for his gun.

Mal unholstered his sidearm and brought it to bear on the Operative, shooting the man in the chest. The Operative fell to the ground as Mal grabbed Inara's arm and headed for the doorway.

If we aren't enjoying it, then why are we doing it? Maybe it's time to change the course of history...

Sammy moved when Mal and Inara did, but she wasn't ready for what happened next.
With a speed she hadn't seen coming, the Operative bypassed her, attacking Mal from behind.

"I am of course, wearing full body armor."

Go se.

Inara launched herself at the Operative, but Sammy was faster, the marble candlestick slamming into the small of his back. She was rewarded with a flying roundhouse kick to the head that knocked her through the doorway into the corridor.

Somehow, she rolled over, ducking again as Inara was slammed into the wall in front of her. "MAL!"

Sammy's scream was lost in the hail of blows that rained between Captain and Operative. She pushed to her feet, scrambling to regain her grip on the candlestick. Somewhere, she vaguelly remembered that she'd Malcolm Reynolds take worse beatings and come out on top... or had he?

She flung the candlestick with all her might, hitching the back of the Operatives legs, buying Mal a moment of time. Inara attacked from the side, but they were both rapidly put down again.

"What? No back-up?" Mal was on his feet again, obviously in pain, obviously struggling.

Sammy couldn't see him.

Her face had planted into the marble floor, and blood was flowing into her eyes.

"Captain? What do you think is going to happen here?"

Sammy threw the candlestick blindly towards the voice.

"E!" Mal's dismayed bellow let her know she'd missed her mark.

"Ooops!" She swiped blood from her eyes.

"Nothing here is what it seems." The Operative was moving, but Sam had been hidden in the tapestry, she knew what he wanted.

Memories flooded back, sweet and dark as the blood that poured down her face. Sammy pushed to her feet, swiping away the blood as she rolled and beat the Operative to his objective.

"He's not the plucky hero..." The Operative's words faded.

Turning on him, his sword held in both of her hands, Sam grinned, feral and dark... "Oh, but I think he is. Were you looking for this?"

"I am Samantha Ertia Diggory of the Clan Diggory. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

JOHNTHETHEATREFREAK

I know it's not the most fun but I offer a suggestion. We skip it. We move to the rebuilding Serenity scene and during it we remember what's happened and our part in the events as part of the post. I was for it because I wanted to move the ship past the BDM. I think that Book and Wash's deaths are important changing them is not giving justice to their death canoncaly. Tell me what you think of my skip to the end idea. Welcome back Ertia I've missed you

"There's no time for this, Kitten." replied the Operative looking at her with deathly cold and emotionless eyes.

Before she could react, the Operative rushed her, blocking the sword with his wrist, the sword cutting his shirt, but not the armor he wore underneath. He punched her in the throat and as she staggered back, he roundhouse kicked Sammy in the head. The impact sent Sammy flying into the wall, knocking her unconscious. The Operative then picked up his sword and returned his attention to Mal and Inara.

"As I was saying, he's not the plucky hero. The Alliance isn't some evil empire. This isn't the grand arena."

"And that's not incense." replied Inara.

The Operative turned to look. The stick of incense burned away just like a fuse. Before he could react there was an explosion of light and sound, the force sending the Operative flying through the air and landing hard on the ground. By the time he came to, he was surrounded by four armed Feds.

"Just a flash bomb. Go! Go!" shouted the Operative, a little deaf and dazed.

Interior of the Companion Training House - Continuing

Inara leads Mal (who has reholstered his weapon and is carrying the unconscious Sammy) down some steps and along a corridor. The sound is still tinny and weird.

"I had him." replied Mal, as he followed Inara.

"What?" asked Inara, not really able to hear him.

Mal replied loudly "I think that I was winnnin'!"

They come down the shallow stone stairs. Inara presses a hidden lever and one stone landing slides under the stair above, revealing a trapdoor. Thet hurriedly start down it.

Exterior of the mountain, by Mal's shuttle - Day

Mal and Inara move quickly down the mountain. They look to see three Feds on the ground unconscious near the shittle. Standing patiently near the shuttle's door, is John.

"How'd you get here so fast?" yelled Mal.

"I took the lift. Why are you yelling?" replied John.

Mal couldn't hear him and yelled "What?"

John rolled his eyes and said, in a raised voice "Nevermind lets go! The effects of the stun grenade I used will wear off soon! The faster we get on the shuttle, the faster we can get out of here before they wake up!"

*well i was thinking of changing the wash death scene quite a bit, but that dosent matter, the end result was that he survived. plus wouldent skipping to the re-building serenity part kinda need some explaining of why it needed re-building?*

It'd be explained in the epilogue that I was thinking of doing in the new thread. Of course I was also thinking of skipping the last half of the movie and moving ahead two months into the future. Would that be ok with everyone or not? I'm all ears.
