The doctor turned out to be both serviceable and efficient. Hardly garrulous, though. Epiktetos did most of the talking. Not that he minded. "So," he started. "How'd you end up with this pack o' muggers?"

—"I embarked on Serenity a little over a year ago," the doctor said plainly. "Definitely tight-lipped." Epiktetos concluded. Not that it would prevent him from pushing the issue. "Good to know," he replied with a smirk. "But that doesn't answer my question does it?"

—"I'd rather not discuss it." "Hmm... Something to hide? Maybe?" He backed off, as the man was focusing on the gash in his forearm.

—"Ok then, fine by me." He thought a moment. "So what pushed you into becoming a doctor?" The other just gave him a stern look, then resumed his business. "Oh I get it, you're the secretive sort, all good. 'Just thought if we're to spend the next few weeks crammed in a flying trash can we could afford to get some dialogue goin'." He went silent for the next few minutes, leading the man to relent and, hopefully, lower his guard. He enjoyed poking at people's dirty little secrets. Call it a dirty pleasure. "So... where'd you study? Was it Ariel? Londinium... Osiris?" The man tensed. "Osiris? Interesting..."

—"I..."

—"Oh, nevermind. None o' my business. Sorry." He shifted his focus to the young woman sitting on the next bunk. "Ai ya... If they aren't related I'm a gorram belly dancer." He put on a casual smile. "And you'd be?"

—"Leaving," she simply said as she jumped to her feet and walked out, leaving both men staring after he in incredulity. "Delightful," Epiktetos said drearily. "So, doc, you got a name?"

Why the heck did John have to listen to her. He walked toward the group of feds and unholstered his gun. Firing quickly and with deadly aim he shot half the group just right of the heart. Jake had the common sense to drop as soon as the first shot was fired... Rolling over as he heard a voice, he looked between the guy that had first had him thrown off the ship, and the dropped feds.

"Well... that is a change of heart..." Jake said springing lightly to his feet.

Pausing only to scoop up two of the feds heavy .45 calibur pistols and slide them into the back of his belt after a quick check over, Jake followed the man to the ship.

Serenity he thought to himself Heres hoping this ship finds me some... with a smirk, Jake crossed the threshold of the cargo bay.

"Thanks..." Jake bites off

Epiktetos sighed in contentment. It felt good to be patched up, though the bruises wouldn't fade before at least a few days. Plus, the painkillers added a certain boozing. He slumped into on a cushion and let himself drift into a state of drug-induced doziness. ""One... odd... day..." he drawled groggily. When was the last time he'd slept?

He was on the brink of sleep when the kooky voice in his head started to yank at him again. Shots... Bodies falling... Get up... Now. "Ching wah tsao duh liou mahng... Who wants to die?"

OOC: Sure, Mob, get my hopes up that someone may join my little crazy arsed brain child, then don't go and get a character up Seriously though... I'd like to try and get started shortly... and for that I'll need more'n myself. There isn't that much to know, just that the world Changed, and that higher technology no longer works (guns, vehicles, computers, refrigerators, etc.) and the idea is gunna be finding our way in this new world, finding a way to survive, ya know?
