Freezing my butt off- it's the right temp for snow, but there hasn't been any precipitation, which really sucks as we get the worst of both worlds- way below freezing but we still have to look at dead grass, and more dead grass, and more dead grass. I hate it here. I wanna move to a desert area so it's warm in the summer, but without the humidity we have here, and so I don't have to look at any more dead grass.

Interesting article Jstn. I even went to the US Patent office website & looked up the patent.
I've heard about such things for years, and knew they'd 'theoretically' work, but 'the story' always involves the patent being bought out by a either a big oil company or a car manufacturer (in conspiracy with big Oil) to suppress the technology.
Seeing as how nothing like this has made it to market yet (24 years later), I'll have to conclude it was either bought by big oil, or there's some sort of engineering problem (perhaps it requires excessive maintenance?).

What's happening with John Doe (Thanks for the stats Leopard)?

I Nom'd it once yesterday and but no one else did? I will throw my Moonlight Noms in that direction instead, as Moonlight is doing very well.

Yesterday we got 122 nominations. That's outstanding. Our record so far is only 8 Noms higher than that.
Superb job.

Road to Avonlea had better get a new map, because Surface is on the road to the top
And Big Wolf on Campus didn't get a passing grade, but Surface did as we passed them handily.

My father owned an aerospace machine shop during that period. He knew first-hand of several places and people who were inventing such things, as a side product to their regular business.

What happened to all of them was that the car companies got wind of them, and they would either by them out directly or they would buy their competition, then the car companies would produce the same regular products the "inventive" company did, sell the products at a loss and drive the "inventive" company out of business.

Like I said, my Dad watched this happen, personally, to a number of small companies.

This is where I first became aware of how evil oil and car companies can be. Later I learned about how Goodyear put Los Angeles Red Cars (rapid transit train system) out of business in order to sell tires.

And some fools think I'm paranoid. They are simply uninformed.
