NEDWARD

I opened up my latest DVD set last night and tried out Serenity on my housemates (two rather discerning, cricket-loving English gentlemen). As ever, Firefly was a hit. I asked their opinion afterwards and the first thing they said was, "Isn't that the Head from Teen Angel?"

Anyone else get any obscure or amusing reactions from potential converts?

LTNOWIS

My friend's conversion was just run-of-the mill appreciation and love of Firefly. He liked it, saw all of them, and now is gonna see the movie.

Here's another vaguely related story. I play a ton of online Halo. I usually sign on as Browncoat, or sometimes LtNOWIS. I've played in hundreds of 16-player games without anyone asking about my screenname. (2 people made dirty alusions though.) So I was surprised and delighted to find 2 Firefly fans in a small 6-person game. I ended up enlighting one of them about the 3 never-aired episodes and another about the upcoming movie.

I don't know how interesting this anecdote is, but it's in your brain cells now so you're stuck with it.

SOUPCATCHER

My first, and simplest, convert was my sister-in-law. As soon as she saw the picture of Nathan Fillion she was talking about how hot he was and how much she loved him on One Life to Live (which I wasn't aware of) and in Two Guys, a Girl. We weren't even halfway through the pilot and she was already in love with the show (or was it Nathan - hard to be sure). Before I left I told her to give me a call after she watched Trash. You can probably guess the rest... she was appreciative ... and later on my brother was probably more appreciative .

Hey. The things we do for family.

I shaved off my beard for you, devil woman!

GAVIDA

Well, I have a friend, who is slightly crazy (in the positive way most of the time ) and talked about Firefly to me, my brother and another friend every time we talked to him.
A while later the other friend he talked to ordered the DVD-Set, watched it and talked to me and my my brother about it every time we talked to him.
So I borrowed the Set from him and watched the whole 14 Episodes on one weekend, watched the episodes with the commentary during the week, ordered the DVDs and talked to my brother about Firefly when we phoned.
Then my brother said "Ok, I heard from you three now that the show is good, I guess I have to watch it, I will order the DVDs, because when you three love it, I will love it too"

And I remember my first time watching it :)
(mouth open, goosebumps and eyes open in awe hehe)

Keep flying,
Gavida
