How many fans who visit this site and are worried that the show will be cancelled have actually written FOX to show their support?

I'll admit I haven't yet. But I have my postcards ready to go in the mail tomorrow.

Whedon says December ratings are imporant. So, if you're serious, get motivated.

Some guidelines I got from a SF magazine regarding the sending of letters:

No e-mail. Networks take mail sent via post more seriously.

No anger or threats. Sound calm and reasonable.

Keep it short and to the point.

Check your grammar and spelling. If your letter looks and sounds stupid it won't be taken seriously.

Also, write to the sponsors. Tell them your'e glad they support the show.

There are links on this site that will give you the addresses you need.

Hurry up. The clock is ticking!

Thank you, DevilSnake, those were good guidelines. I have written exactly one postcard so far, before Ariel aired. I've written a couple of emails too, but like you said those aren't taken as seriously. I will continue to send postcards to both the network and the sponsors, and hope that the rest of the fans do as well. We must keep Firefly flyin...

Warrick: You didn't have to wound that man.
Mal: Yeah, I know. It was just funny.

I wrote FOX a letter 2 weeks ago and I also sent along 2 postcards with my home state on them. Plus, I sent postcards to all the sponsors (42 of them) listed at: http://fireflysupport.com/
I've gotten letters back from some of the advertisers already.

I think that one of the reason that we have gotten 2 more episode of FF is because of all the fan noise. Please don't procrastinate, write letters and/or postcards to FOX and the sponsors right away. Email, too, but do the letters/postcards first. They're more influential.

By the way, you can send real paper postcards without leaving your computer, for about $.50 each -- http://www.usps.com/mailingonline/postcard.htm

Their website isn't exactly intuitive, but if you're smart enough to love Firefly you're smart enough to figure it out. :D

I wrote an honest-to-God real letter back before the campaign even got started.

I've written to Fox and all the sponsors who were posted at the time (two weeks+ ago).

I'll check back at www.fireflysupport.com to see if there are any new sponsors.

Momentum should be building between now and Dec 6th. We fought and scraped and were rewarded with two more episodes. Now our goal is for a full season which gives us time to get more friends and relatives hooked on this fantastic show by season's end.

Cast aside your doubts and fears about Fox's dedication to the show long enough to write them (and the sponsors) a postcard letting them now about your dedication the show!!
