I'd like to thank Ron Glass for appearing in the Twin Cities last night and watching the BDM with us.
*applause applause applause*
*clutching the swag tightly*

Wow, Amazing, Stupendous, Fabulous, Kick Ass, Gonzo, Ga Ga, Wowwwwwwwzaaaaaah!

No spoilers but this. Damn, that story is a good one.

It gives ya a shiver down the spine to hear a theatre full of folks singing the "The Ballad of Serenity".

*edited to add*
Don't forget the Browncoat Bonfire this evening in St. Paul

I think I might have shed a tear if we had done that. Oh, I did anyways, even w/ out the singin. Nevermind.

There were so many cool folks there - a couple of wankers too, but 98% cool folk!

We saw an array of costuming - including those who came dressed a 'normals'. We had Jayne hats and fighting elves. We had Kaylees and Browncoats.

Most of all ... we had fun.

And one damn fine looking Simon, don't forget - he was completely shuai!

Knibb - it was supershiny being able to sing with someone who understands WHY.

Everything else I had to say about last night just got poured out onto the MNIndy Yahoo Board.

Now all I need is a soundtrack CD so I can relive the experience musically until September... *sigh* Cuz that's the one major problem I have with the movie - that it's over now, and I have to wait until September for it to happen again.

Everything else was exactly what I've come to expect from Joss Whedon. Quality writing, masterful story-telling, exquisite exposition, and every plot twist you can possibly think of and then some.

And the BDHs? They did NOT disappoint. At all.

Okay, that's all I can say without revealing anything. I better be quiet and get back to work here.

I've always considered myself a fan of Firefly and all things Joss. My DVD collection containing his work probably bought him something nice. Like an Ipod. Ipod's are nice.

Anyhow, until I went to this screening last night, I didn't know what it meant to be a Firefly fan.

The tickets had sold out well in advance, so I took a chance, went to the theatre, trolled up and down the line looking for an extra ticket, and lo and behold, there was one.

The movie itself was friggin' fantastic, and better than I thought it could be, and I'm thrilled to have seen it last night with the fans. Someone mentioned something about it feeling like a family, and not officially being a part of that family, I had to agree. And it made me feel bad that I didn't know these people more, a mistake that I fixed by joining this board ten minutes ago.

So, while the movie is amazing, I want to thank you guys for making it the incredible experience it was.

As emotional as the movie was, and it is, hearing the theater sing not only the theme song, but Hero of Canton. Damn. Thanks guys.

Incidentally, Knibblet and I were the ones who kept on singing - like when the sound went out on the commercials? Yeah...

I had no idea Ron Glass was in the Cities at the screening Thursday. Now I feel even worse for not getting tickets! Gorram it!
I sure hope there are more screenings in Mnpls. soon.
Was he thrilled to be there and watch it with everyone?
I have to get tickets next time.

There are rumors of a showing on the 23rd? Someone help me out here ...

Anyway, if it does go down, it will probably be at Southdale(off of 494 in Edina) again.

The Shepherd was gracious, enthusiastic, funny, entertaining and a total delight.

Aw, you're so lucky to have gotten tickets. I don't know how they sold out so quickly, but if there are more screenings to come I will probably eventually get one. I hope there is one on the 23rd. I even heard of some [possibly] on the 9th but I don't know where they'd be. (at the same locations across the country, I mean)
