(just don't ask...our minds tend to drift!)

Thought you were at Glastonbury that weekend?

i had no intention of asking i can hardly hold onto my mind long enough to know where its off to - let alone worry about anyone else's - but i will never be afraid to go off topic while posting here

not at glastonbury but half the people who work with me will be as we have a pitch there so i'll be the responsible (tee-hee) one around and might get dragged in to work at the last minute -
if i don't make it and people stick around afterwards i'll probably track you down

Whilst on about the subject of chocolate - must remember that at Serenity2 everybody mus bring a different type of chocolate to share around and maybe some fresh(?) strawberries?

We can blame that on Cap`n Eric about his Hersheys addiction

Darin (Zol.)

p.s. If we are going to stick around till late, I`ll need some prep time - getting up at 5am and returning early the following morning is not a good combination (last coach is 1130pm, the previous to that is 7.30pm)

Have decided to go with my Sin City-esque Jayne poster. All printed out and looks like pretty shiny! If anyone wants to use the Mudders Milk one they're welcome.

How come we have to wait another 3 weeks for this?

Isn`t it the longest day that Saturday too?

I know a lot of the day will be non-scheduled stuff, but is there anything anybody wants to do?

Does anybody know if they will let you back in if you go out of the areana?

I am definitely looking forward to this, don`t think I`ll bring too much with me, there will probably be a few things that`ll follow me home

You were allowed to leave & re-enter at Wembley last year, am sure it will be the same at Earls Court.

That will be great if it becomes too hot in there - could be an idea to scout out a meeting place outside (café or other) which would be a designated meetup point if anybody gets distracted from a group and also a place to sit & chill out. I know these sort of events normally have a small cafe but it will be busy at all times, but it willbe good to get a little distance away for a breather.

Next question - Café nearby? (without strying too far)

OK, having decided what picture I'd like Adam to sign, I read over at the Starfury site that at their conventions, you're not supposed to take "unlicensed" items, which would seem to include images created on a computer.

Anyone know anything more about this?

I think it all depends on the type of contract that they have setup - maybe worth asking on the Organisers forum for LF&CC though, just so you don`t have to carry an A1 size poster around all day. I have one or 2 items that I`ll have with me (something to handout to those who waant it & something else I would like Adam to sign for me (even if he signs a blank sheet of paper [I have purose to my mission])

Darin (Zol.)

p.s. I have my new shiny camera and it`s got a beast of a lens (so watch out at the conventions, I can Stalk from afar )

Although I haven't had an "official" response, those who've responded to my post at LFCC don't seem to think there'll be a problem - although as you say, it may vary from Guest to Guest.

Still, I reckon I can cope with carrying 2 pieces of A4 paper around with me. No big deal if they won't sign - will just pick up the freebie.

Someone's also advised that you can only get 5 items signed per guest. But at £15-20 per item I don't suppose too many of us were planning on exceeding that number!

By the way, PR, I may have mislead you slightly - the exhibition's on at Earls Ct 2, which is not the one you see as soon as you exit Earls Ct Tube. It's kind of round the back. Anyone with any travel queries just check out the official webiste - prettyy much any queries already been answered.

If anybody wants to meetup & hasn`t met any of us before (& survived !), you can PM me to exchange mobile numbers so that we can all meetup at the same place & time.

p.s. just checked with National Express - If I get the 6.30am() coach, I can be at Earls court for 9.15am

I would be probably wanting to leave on the 8.30pm return coach (from Victoria Station) otherwise it`ll be 11.30pm (no other return coach trips until the following day!)

Does that sound good, I can still fit a meel in there towards the end of the day, providing I can get back to London Victoria or Heathrow.

Oh please, I laugh at your 6.30! I live considerably nearer, but was looking at a 6.19 train to get me to Earls Ct in decent time to get in the queue! Have managed to push it back to 6.45 now - far more civilised!

Will there really be a big queue for the earlybird tickets?

Really have no idea how many people will get there for early bird tickets - can only try and judge by reading comments in the forums. But having spent hours waiting around for my number to come up last year, I'd rather get there early, get my tickets (got three queues to head for!) and know I won't be doomed to wander Earls Court for another 5 hours.

Would one of you early birders be willing to pick up an 'Adam autograph ticket' for me? Due to the appalling public transport system locally I can't get there until after 11 am and I will have to leave at 4pm to get the train back. I am really concerned that I might travel all that way and not get his autograph.

Hiya,

I've really got to check this board more often you all post so much I can't keep up!!!

PR it wasn't sarcasm I do have to sell my house to afford it (it's not the reason I'm selling my house tho') and if I do (sell my house that is) I will definitely be going!

I'm assuming when you say Serenity 2 you mean Serenity in April cos Serenity 2 is not till November and no I didn't go - previous appointment!

I really wouldn't worry to much about this, basically what it means is you can't print a picture from the net and try and pass it off as 'official' (i.e. putting the fox or say the WB logo on it) and as long as it's the pic your asking someone to sign isn't offensive then most guests respond postively to stuff you've 'made' yourself.

I don't know if you can tell but I've been to a few of these things!!!

It sounds good to me as I'm planning on going home the same day as well, I'm not on quite as a tight schedule as you are but if I can be back to Waterloo for 9.30pm then I can get a train all the way home instead of having to get a cab from Southampton.

The Brooklands Museum is not too far away by Car and is a exhibition place for old vehicles, planes & Concorde etc.

War of the worlds reimagineered (as they like to call these things, it`s a cool word) doesn`t look too bad, Spielberg has said he has had enough of the cutesy aliens and now wants to do the other kind - my only wish is they kept to the original HGWells story or did a full blown music video for the Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds Album - there was rumours years ago that there was some animation done for JW`s version, but I`ve not seen it, just the artwork form the album (which I original had on LP, then on minidisk & then CD (with the remixes which are cool)

My trip will be focused on the Martian, so I will probably take many shots to pick from, although I won`t be able to get there really early in the morning to catch the 1st rays of sun on the piece of art.

Darin (Zol.)

p.s.If you can, have a listen to the Orsen Wells Radio Show - I don`t know where you can get it from, but I have a version on the PC in MP3 format.

As I understand it, there are two War Of The Worlds licenses that can be bought. One is for the book version (a film of this is coming out in the next year or so, I think, and promises to be very faithful to the book) and the other is for the 1953 movie version (which the TV series was based on, incidentally). It's the 1953 version the Spielberg film is coming from.

Zol, you might want to check out http://www.thewaroftheworlds.com/
That's the website for the musical version, of which apparently there is a 'Collectors Edition' coming out, as a SACD with lots of added goodies.
There's also some test footage from the CGI movie of JW's version, which looks like it's still very much in production.

P.S. I had immense deja-vu when writing this post, so apologies if I've posted it somewhere else.

I had seen some of this, and as I write, the advert is on the TV - I would love the Collectors edition with 7 disks but at £79.99 it`s a bit expensive - I would be able to pay about 1/2 that - still I can wait for the CGI Movie.
