And guess what movie this Browncoat is gonna mark the day with?
Hint: Jayne's in it, and he gives us a 'crash course' in modern avionics.

Duh! Chrisisall

So what did all of do on the 4th? I went to a really fun (and rather long) parade in Plano TX, where I was visiting a friend. It rained for about the 1st hour and then the sun came blaring out and we got burnt. It was mighty fun.
My favourite things were:
1) The marching bagpipe players. Men in kilts!!
2) The marching golfers. Hi-larious. They had a golf bag on one shoulder and they carried a club like a rifle and would twirl them and do various things on command. The best part was when they shot (plastic) balls into the crowd. It was very funny and such a neat idea!

BATMARLOWE

I saw BATMAN BEGINS, watched some poker on TV, went online, and watched 4 episodes from Season 6 of BUFFY starting with OMWF.

The SERENITY trailer was shown before BB. I'm trying to remain spoiler-free so I closed my eyes and plugged my ears and I'm sure it looked strange to anyone who noticed. The crowd was pretty sparse (matinee) and there was no reaction when the trailer started. But the bits of trailer I heard sounded cool and part of me wished I'd watched it. It's definitely leaning toward the action end of the spectrum and hopefully that will attract a more mainstream crowd.

I know this is a big "duh" but we really need to grab anyone we can and show up on opening weekend. Hopefully there's enough character development (which we don't need as much of because we already know them) so that some of the "more important" critics will get on board and help with the positive word of mouth.

I want to go see a movie this week and I can't decide between Batman Begins and War of the Worlds. Was BB good? Have you seen WotW? I may just end up seeing the one that has the most convenient show times...
That sounds like a nice, relaxing 4th.
I didn't mention the part of mine where I spent 3 hrs in the airport because my flight was delayed, and an extra hour in the air because of a storm and then 1/2hr at baggage claim because they sent our luggage to a different conveyor belt thingy and didn't tell any of us. And 20 minutes in line to get out of parking, and the 3 hr drive home. Got home at 1am as opposed to the 10pm I had expected to be home. Oh well. Listened to my new CD several times on the drive home and passed several firework shows. And a huge thunderstorm which was prettier than any man-made fireworks anyway.

CHRISISALL

In addition to watching Independence Day, I watched an episode of Lois and Clark, that is, after taking wifeisall and sonisall to the fireworks here in Amherst, MA.
Big (almost) 4th PLUS! I showed my wife her 2nd episode of Firefly (we don't watch TV too much at the same time; work schedules intrude), she already saw the pilot a couple of months ago, so for her 2nd ep I chose Our Mrs. Reynolds to really hook her! She said it was really good, and she laughed quite a bit while it was on. She's finally on her way to being a Browncoat!
(She also saw Saphron being bad coming! Is it just me? I didn't originally. Or is it a guy thing like my wife said?)

P.S., heard good things about both movies.

BATMAN BEGINS is pretty good. IMHO it's better than the two Burtons. I haven't seen WotW. I'm waiting for my meds to take effect after I see my therapist :)
