Here it is 2 weeks from them playing Firefly as part of the Friday line up, and I have yet to actually see them advertrise the fact. Has anyone seen a scifi add? You can find it on the schedule but you have to dig. Looks like they will play the pilot "Serenity" as a two parter.
And since Scifi is owned by the same outfit...with Universal blah blah yada........does this mean we can expect this same type of incredible media blitz for the BDM? Oh I hope not, so everyone keep getting the word out. I converted 2 new people at work just the other day, and if they tell 2 friends ....and so on.

It's a nothing part til you don't got one, then you have to go to ebay.....aaaaagh!

I was starting to wonder about not seeing any ads yet either.

But maybe (to either play devil's advocate or give them the benefit of the doubt) they're pushing "their" new season of shows hard right now, and then they'll push Firefly during ads during those shows. Maybe?

I was wondering that a bit too. Granted, what sort of $ are they going to spend on advertising for a show which is already cancelled? It's not like Buffy or Angel, where there are several seasons they can put into rotation for a year or 2.

I didn't expect a great deal, but 2 weeks out, I'd have thought there'd be SOME mention. Even reworked ads from when it first aired, would be nice.

You're probably right. I'm ready for new BSG eps my own self. But if all they do is hype SG - Atlantis and then only say... " but first, watch FIREFLY " , or some lame intro like that..I'll be quite put out.

I don't know. I sat through 2 1/2 hours of SGA last night and didn't see anything about Firefly. They even had a promo for the return of Tripping the Rift.

There is nothing about Firefly on their official website either, even if you look up the list of TV shows they have, not listed. I'm hoping that they will give Firefly a big push on the night that they premier SG1, SGA and BSG.

Of course, no matter how much or how little SciFi promotes Firefly, every browncoat has a huge opportunity here to get their stubborn co-workers or friends without DVD players to watch the show. Let's get cracking, people!!! :)

Jayne, your mouth is talkin. Might want to look into that.

My sister and bro-in-law are psychology majors, she has her Masters and he's working on his PhD. And they refuse to buy a DVD player. Maybe they need therapy . And I know a of few Amish who have them - battery powered 12-volt models, like in cars.

Sci-fi rarely advertises shows that aren't SF originals or movies. I don't remember any ads for Andromeda (which Firefly is replacing in that slot), for example.

But hopefully it will get at least a few ads during next weeks premieres.

Isn't SciFi under the same big umbrella as NBC and Universal ? NBC ran BSG on Sat night, and then a preview of BSG. So, it seems like as part of the 'versal family, SciFi could do a BIT of advertising. Or maybe they think merely running Firefly is promotion enough. For which, I AM grateful..of course.

I saw an ad on the season opener of bat-gat. Is this new stuff or are they just gonna play reruns? it'd be a short run.

Ok Here we go, firefly fans!!! I don't know if this posts or if it just replys(if it doesn't post please post it for me). Sci-fi is bring ing the reruns back to boost the movie. Go see the movie lots of times fans. Email, write and generally reek havoc to get hi series abck. They got the whole cast back for the movie and NONE of them have anything better than this vehicle, so I'd say they are ready as well. Scream, holler, write, call, email, blog and generally bring attention to one of the best shows, sci-fi or not, that I have ever seen. Someone tells ya to stop like last time don't listen. If they tell ya there is no hope. That's because we are causin a problem and they want us to shut up, don't. I want to see this series back in action. It won't be the first time it's happened by a long shot. Take me where I cannot stand YEEHA!!!! it might actually happen
