If you don't know, FOX cancelled Family Guy awhile ago, but due to record DVD sales they brought it back for a fourth season.

This is the opener to the first episode of the season (titled "Un-cancelled).
--------------------------------

Peter: “Everybody, I’ve got bad news: We’ve been canceled”

Lois: “Oh no—Peter, how could they do that?”

Peter: “Well, unfortunately, Lois, there’s just no more room on the schedule. We’ve just got to accept the fact that Fox has to make room for terrific shows like Dark Angel, Titus, Undeclared, Action, That ’80s Show, Wonderfalls, Fastlane, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Skin, Girls Club, Cracking Up, The Pitts, Firefly, Get Real, Freakylinks, Wanda at Large, Costello, The Lone Gunmen, A Minute With Stan Hooper, Normal Ohio, Pasadena, Harsh Realm, Keen Eddie, The $treet, American Embassy, Cedric the Entertainer, The Tick, Louie and Greg the Bunny.”

Lois: “Is there no hope?”

Peter: “Well, I suppose if all those shows go down the tubes, we might have a shot.”

My show is too pretty to die.

I go to college at what we refer to as a "geek school," so my entire dorm was watching that season premiere of Family Guy. And I gave out such a yell when he said Firefly, that I think the whole dorm heard that too.

Hi,

I'd like to say that the Lone Gunmen, a spinoff that held great premise, was marred by horrible writing.

It was a show that needed to go.

If only it had been as well written as the episodes of X-Files where the Lone Gunmen appeared, it might have had a chance.

(I still remember fondly the episode that revealed the first meeting between Mulder and the Lone Gunmen. It made me laugh often, with gestures as simple as Mulder pulling out a giant sized cellphone.)

I never watched it (or X-files much unfortunately) so I'll take your word for it.

But there is definetely more than a couple tv shows on that list that deserved to be cancelled.

My show is too pretty to die.

TENTHCREWMEMBER

Could you please just make it stranger? Stranger. Odder. Could be weirder. More bizarre. How about uncanny?

I personally would like to see The Tick reborn.

Warburton was PERFECT as a live-action Tick. I bought the entire season DVD, which seems to be a lot rarer than some other cancelled shows.

If you can find it, I highly recommend it. There is some humour in there that is off the scale! Such as Captain Liberty accidentaly killing the IMMORTAL with sex, and the cover-up attempt by the rest of the gang is Hi-larious.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

God I love this show. I watch every so often (b/c I'm usually watching Aqua Teen, Harvey Birdman, and Reno 911).

Hey no argument there oREAVERo.

In most cases, nothing is better than the original. But it was still a good enough series that got the shaft from FOX.

Man, and to think at one time, FOX was the only network I watched...what sad little kings of a sad little hill...

I went to one of those. Full of Comp Scis and engineers. Guy to girl ratio was like 8:1.
All we did was geeky stuff, but man, it was fun.

I just mentioned this to someone the other day! I too had hoped the Lone Gunmen would last. Alas, I only have the memories of their work on X-Files.

Exact same here, only it's 7:1 ratio. Too much fun - I take advantage of the boys all the time, heehee.
