Yes, busy folks that we are, time for ANOTHER thread. Jeez, do we ever shut up?

Expect the expected. Maybe even a bit of the unexpected too. Tales of, maybe. Complete with ladies dancing superimposed over flames.

Hmmm, bit of an obscure reference there, eh? Any guesses what the good gorram I'm yappin' about? Answers on a postcard, or you could just, y'know, post it here.

Welcome, by the way. Don't forget to wear your sanity protectors.

Can never have enough Dahl my boy, especially made with red lentils and coriander - hmmmm tasty

oh, how i love food

I am not sure I love you guys though. You posted a new thread before I had become accustomed to the old one and Fray didn't even notice my post.

Is there still a sulking corner? Is it free from noise? We have builders grinding metal and walking around in space suits - very annoying!

Are we moving too fast for you, Em? Perhaps you could make up a quick Grolsch-style "Shtop!" parody advert thing...

There is most definitely a sulking corner. It tends to be very quiet, apart from all the mumbled complaints about a general lack of Creme Eggs.

FRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Need your help / input (again today)!

Remember our good friend Norton? The guy that pinched all the photos and posted them as his own on the UB board? He has joined the Londinium Crew that Im a member of. StevieB has just pointed it out and informed everyone else of the situation. It could all kick off on our thread if he turns up. Just thought you might like to get in on the cat fight...

Butt - grrrr, I had thought of posting something to the effect of "noone hire this guy" but didn't bother...at least you & Stevie B are aware of the situation and I shall definitely keep an eye on things (Carol & I were saying how we really should have joined that crew coz it's local - ah well...).

Haven't actually seen Norton around since that trouble all kicked off - am a bit annoyed that the photos are still in the gallery as Serenity_LEADER said it was being dealt with.

Does a captain have the right to kick someone out? Coz that guy's a cheater and should be made to walk the plank pronto!

Is it me or do they seem not to have a clue what to do with this whole Crew idea? There's less than two months before the movie launches so this is the prime period to get word of mouth out there but there's been no challenges, no rankings, no word on what it is they are actually for.

*quietly hopes the whole thing implodes very quickly indeed*

SP, if my mother thrashed me at a videogame, I don't know if I could have showed my face in the house again. I've also sent you a PM. That's personal message, Sir John Major isn't about to turn up at your door.

Well, he might turn up at your door (were you expecting him?) but if he does, it's nothing to do with me.

I was thinking more of something like whinging or whining or whatnot. I don't think I could go as far as to compare our dear Dr. to a Chav. That's quite an insult.

I'm currently eating leftover easter m&ms. Some of the m's have little bunny ears.

Haven't been to the m&m store in Las Vegas, but I've been to one in Orlando Fl that has a bazillion colours of m&ms. My brother in law went to the one in Vegas and brought my sister home a big bag of them in various shades of purple (her favourite colour). She was thrilled.

Grumping? Bitching? Heathing (named after another Prime Minister in the UK for the bitterness he retained for a good thirty years)? I just don't see the point of any of this crew malarky. If they come up with something intriguing or positive, great but as it is we have the umpteen crews (one of whom is named after the religious schools that educate suicide bombers, another of which after a mediocre sitcom) just randomly chatting to each other which is exactly what we were doing before, only we didn't feel the need to exclude anyone, nor be in competition with them.

This is why I like FireFlyFans.net so much better, it doesn't feel the need to steer members in one direction or another, it just lets us get on with it. Take this thread for example. How would people like it if twg or anyone else not planning to attend S² were made unwelcome because they're not part of the gang? It'd be stupid and yet that's exactly the road the movie board is heading down. Plus the official board is beset with cockups (how many had the movie spoiled by the front page showing subject lines with no warnings? 5,000? 10,000?) and downtime.

Wait a minute. Why am I suddenly covered in green fur and living in a garbage can?

Until they actually do something with this whole crew malarcky we'll not know if it's worth the effort or not. I don't really think it's bringing people that much closer together or anything... those going to {insert event name here} are pretty pally already.

It seems pointless because right now there is no point. Hopefully it won't stay that way, and it won't promote antagonism either.

I didn't get a very warm reception when I first tried posting at the UB. I was mostly ignored. And then I tried the chat and was treated very rudely. Called very unbecoming names by people I'd never met and I left when the discussion turned to Inappropriate Subjects. Note the capital letters.

Just the other day I decided to give the UB chat another try and was almost immediately driven out by insults about my name. TWG went back there with me and they were pretty nice to us then (part of the TWG charm, I guess) but not nice enough to make me want to return. Not nice like all of you were to me when I first got here.

So, yeah, not very fond of the UB. But Soul has a ship, so I just HAD to be on it. Now I just go over there to collect credits and check on my crew and that's it.

Things do seem to take forever to happen over there, don't they? We seem to get the "Exclusive" breaking news before they do.

Wipes away a small tear....

and then confesses that she only joined Sean's crew coz Carol did! Frankly, I agree with Rel & SimonWho (and some other wise person who complained on the UB about how it was causing divisions and was promptly hung drawn & quartered by rogue pirates...) - possibly a good idea but the execution is lacking somewhat...

(mmmm, never mind M&Ms, have just ordered the complete Robin of Sherwood for £29 off Amazon. Ah happy memories of Saturday evenings spent lusting after men in tights! I even pulled out of a schoool musical because I'd miss an episode and we didn't have a video recorder back then.)

Hurry up DVDs!!!! Need to see my boys!! Never bought the videos so it's been 20 long years since my last fix!

Sorry, just read CallMeSerenity's post about the UB properly and am most disgusted - and a little surprised. For the most part I find myself talking to the same people over there as over here (although some go by different names, which is confusing...) but I only post the odd thing here and there. Some threads seem a bit cliquey - have never bothered with Chats so can't comment. But shame on them.

And it has to be said, it's not a great movie website is it? The film's less than 2 months away and well, for those not interested in the forum there's not much to hold your interest, is there?

I go to sleep and go to work and eventually go to FFF only to find ANOTHER thread. Man, you type fast!

1. There were indeed monkeys.
2. Creme Eggs = $50 (off season you see) That makes Simon the richest FFFer.
3. Your crew has a thread, Serenity? Mine has an entire Message Board. Course we just goof off. I'm certainly not going to earn any silly points. If I haven't in the last year, why would I in the next two months?
4. Yes, the UB people do not like me...but in Chat I can charm anyone.
5. Thai. Pizza and Chinese are lovely, especially the next morning, but I think Thai would be excellent.
6. What is an AS party. Is she a slut or something?
7. I'm eating PB&J...oh I wish I had some chips and vinegar.

That's all.

I think it's great that every time somebody new posts in one of these threads, one of you guys sets them a challenge or task to properly welcome them in. Of course, it's entirely their perogative to run screaming from the room but at least we tried to make them feel welcome.

Apparently Auntie Beeb is bringing Robin Hood back next year (although it'll probably be a complete reboot, Jason Connery's busy schedule not withstanding). Never got into it myself and when I heard there was a new Robin Hood, that completely freaked me.

Oooo, guess who I've just thought of for the "best villains" thread?

Oh, and Ann Summers is a sex shop of sorts. It mostly sells exotic outfits and accessories. It also has a very popular line in having parties where one woman gets all their girlfriends over to her house and they try different Ann Summers items, laugh, drink, talk about sex and buy the things they like.

Mmmm....Thai!

When I worked in London we used to go to the most wonderful Thai restaurant. But I'd always have the same thing - chicken & cashew nuts! A load of us are meeting up next week and that's where we'll be heading!

Hope I won't be too disappointed watching Robin of Sherwood again - I so loved it, but time can be cruel...not sure why I haven't got round to buying the DVDs before but couldn't resist at that price.

Some of its spicy, some isn't, its almost like a cross between indian and chinese food.

Had some great thai when I was staying in a hotel in Watford when I was working in Northwood... Best thing was because I was up there for work I didn't have to pay...

My Aunt's from Thailand too, so I've kinda been spoiled with the Thai, its niiiice.
