I'm interested in buying a case(10 boxes) of Serenity cards Here's the problem. There are 10 autograph cards. 1 auto card for each of the 9 characters, and the bad guy, and there is 1 auto card per box. If I buy a case will I be guranteed a full autograph set? I don't know how Inkworks is going to pack them. If they are half cool, they'd set it up so if you buy a case, you get all 10 autograph cards. I'm not expecting to get a full pieceworks set from a case, that's usually a different thing altogether. I'm going to sell half my dvd collection to buy a case, so for me this is sort of a big deal. If anyone knows, or wants to speculate, feel free.

Sorry to say, Odds are you will not get a full set, not even the peice works. I am a Inkworks Dealer. I am waiting on my list of what cards will be short printed. ( meaning inserted at a lower ratio) Odds are you will get a lot of Duplicate cards. Cases cost around $650-750 ea. Odds are better that you can put together a master set off ebay cheaper.

I will tell you one thing. If you wait and see what I do with the auto cards and the peice work cards you will be blown away and want to buy my sets instead. ( Its top secret right now) but worth the wait.

By the way I do sell, Mini master sets on my site. You get all the cards but the Autos and Peice works ( and case loader) + binder and some promo stuff for $100.

Thanks for the info. That's what I figured. I can't wait to see the deal you have for the autos, and pieceworks.

As a long time inkworks card collector I'd have to agree with the other poster. BUT I want you to remember with the pieceworks there are always variants, so while you may end up with 3 of the same pieceworks 2 may be different. As I did with my Buffy Big Bads Case of cards you can sell off all the excess or trade with others. As it stands I am only missing one pieceworks from that set and thats cos honestly I think Inkworks made like 5 of them.

The pieceworks system is pretty simple: The bigger the costume the less rare the card will be. A T-shirt is smaller than a dress so usually the T-shirt will be rarer.

The autograph system is pretty simple too. I have a feeling Chiwitel Ejifore (or however you spell his name, 'The Operative') will be the rarest of the autographs cards. Most of our BDHs are more than happy to sign whatever, as they are not crap heads. Alan Tudyk might end up a bit more valuable in the aftermarket because he's been in a lot of stuff. Seeing as Adam Baldwin, Gina Torres and Nathan Fillion already have autocards floating around I have a feeling they will be easier to get a hold of.

Personally, after my experience purchasing a case of cards I have to say don't. Its a lot of work, you end up with piles of excess that are a bitch to get rid of. I'm still dumping off stock over a year later.

By a master set off of eBay, or pick up a copy of Non-SPorts Card Update and call the different sellers in there to see if they can work you a deal. I am waiting to see what kind of deals are going to be trown out there. The MSRP seems artificially high on this, and it makes me feel like Inkworks is taking advantage of a fandom who is desperate to have just a little something to collect. Mind you an incomplete Mast set will probably still run you well over $75 (called a mini master you usually get the binder, basic set, all basic chase cards (puzzle cards, box loaders and the 6 card set) really nice sellers will also include one pieceworks and one autograph card(usually these run about $150), a master set for this might run you upwards of $500-700. So if you have the excess cash you could buy a case and sell off all excess (you have a market for it) and use that money to complete your set.

I dunno what I'm gonna do. I think I'm going to sell my Buffy and Angel collections off and use the money to buy into Serenity and pay rent for a few months.

This isnt the case. MSRP is on point with all of their Movie Card releases. Everything you said normally would hold true, but I have it on VERY good athoriry that Inkworks didnt have a great deal of faith in this movie and short printed the collection. Well if the movie turns out to be a hit and we get 2 more movies these cards will be worth so much. Just like trying to get your hands on Season 1 buffy cards or binder. They even made the Uncut sheet only 99 copies where they ussually do 200-300. Lets say the same holds true with cases. ( ratio wise ) and since they dont Reprint cards ( like the comics ) Supply and Demand will hold true with this collection. As my sister says " EBay is Evil" this will hold true for a lot of browncoats.
