Twinkies are food for the gods. They are lovely little sponge cakes filled with cream - all of it is completely artificial of course. Xander used one to impress his Inca Mummy Girl.

Belgian chocs are very nice (Leonidas rum truffles - hmmmmm) but I have to say it, Cadburys is better. You can eat so much more!

I have no such regrets x10

Especially when compared to the glorious extravagence of Belgian chocolate... MMMMmmmmmmm... My (distantly related) countryfolk sure know how to make that stuff. Oh yes.

Apology accepted-ish. You don't have to like it, you just can't insult it in the presence of Americans. If TWG was here, she'd probably agree. It'd be like me saying I though Cadbury was rubbish.

Oh well, I have some Ghiradelli dark chocolate (60% cocoa)today, so I'm happy happy.

And I quite agree that Belgian chocs are fantabulous. A friend went last year and brought me back an Advent calendar with a piece of chocolate for every day. That was heaven!
And I'm also very fond of german chocolate. A friend just came back from there and I asked her to bring me some back. I hope she did.

all of this chocolate talk is getting me excited.

what do people want me to bring to the shiny shindig?

Milk, white, dark, alcohol, creams, toffees, pralines, cheap, posh, dutch, belgian, american (yes I can get Hersheys here - no sodding cadburys though)?

If you are very, very lucky I will bring some drop (pronounced drope)

Rel

Hersey's is a sacred American institution!! I am never so patriotic as when my chocolate is insulted. If I had a little American flag I'd be waving it.

Where is TWG when you need her?

You get all angry and patriotic, and then bomb me with little silver kisses?

If you actually mean kisses, that ain't so bad. If you mean Hershey's Kisses, then that's a fate worse than death.

Institutions aren't good places to be, y'know.

Yes, I was pelting Rel with Hershey's kisses. Bwa ha ha ha.

But I've had enough of defending my country for one day (I've only got so much patriotism to go around) so now I'll turn a deaf ear (blind eye) to further insults of my country/chocolate and pelt Rel with real kisses now. Mwa!

Emma-would that be a chocolate werewolf? yum.

I've never been to the US. Went to the American PX at JHQ Rhindhalen, but they wouldn't let me have hardly anything cause I didn't have my military ID...
I managed to blag a few cheap things tho...
The Hersheys were expensive, and i'd heard they weren't very good so...

Just thought of something - if anyone's interested in trading cards, The Cinema Store on Monmouth Street is selling the Serenity Non-Sport cover (or whatever it's called!) for the princely sum of £9.99. Little pricey IMHO but thought I'd let you know.

(Where's everyone gone? So bored... But, ooh, BB eviction tonight - hurrah!)

Thanks for the hugs, Dr. Dear, but we don't need your sympathy. Remember, we have Reese's cups and junior mints and kitkats and almond joy and 3 musketeers and whatchamacallits and heath bars (my personal favourites, chocolate and toffee)and goobers and raisinettes and sugar babies and all sorts of confectionary delights. Plus all the non-chocolate stuff: smarties and nerds and sweet tarts and all the wonka stuff. And we get cadbury creme eggs at easter. They've come out with caramel filled ones, too, that are quite nice.

I'm feeling quite nastalgic now.

Anywho, I just wanted to say that 100 days from today, it'll be Serenity² time. Sweet!

Okay, I could do with some advice. I'd like to get one (and probably just one) chat programme like AIM or Messenger. Which one would people recommend? Bear in mind I am on the computer all the time so I can't keep stopping when people beep me or otherwise I'd get nothing done so is there something with a nice "disappear from view" option and other good things?

This is a very easy question to answer.

Trillian - http://www.trillian.cc

With this nice program (Windows only) you can connect to AIM, Yahoo, MSN and ICQ (oh, and IRC) all at the same time. One set of options, once set of controls, one window with all your contacts on every IM network on it. No spyware or adware. The Basic version has more than enough options to satisfy the average user, even audio and video messaging. You can set away messages, be invisible (on some of the IMs anyway), and all the rest.

I've been using it for years and I'm very happy with it.

Um, I'm not a big Hersheys supporter. I use them on my smores. And that's about it. It's not my fault though Serenity. I was corrupted by Belgium chocolates and Swiss chocolates and German chocolates and of course Cadburys. But I do not regret going to Europe. I do however regret the Irish/Italain guy, just not his family becasue they gave me all the cadburys i could eat.

I love Twinkies. They are nothing like Tooties rolls. Twinkies are like ambrosia. They are food of the gods...mostly because there are so many preservatives in them that they'll last until the end of the universe.

Darn it....i'm gonna ahve to run ICQ if i'm ever gonna talk to the Doctor aren't I?

strange.
I have MSN instant messenger. But I don't remember for the life of me what my address is. Every once in awhile a friend or family member pops up and I'm forced to chat with them for awhile, and it really annoys me, because if they wanted to talk to me, why don't they just CALL ME. We all have cell phone and free long distance and all that. It doesn't cost them anything and it's so much better to talk than type.

Sorry. Done ranting.

TWG,
Very disappointed in you!

Regardless of your personal feelings, I'd think you'd at least support them in being an American institution. Where is your patriotism?

It's very hard being the lone voice of the American chocolate.

P.S. Irish/Italian is never a good match. You get a really great looking guy with a horrible temper and guilt issues who likes to drink too much (well, from my experience anyway).

I'm all for patriotism....otherwise I would have moved overseas a long time ago. I did briefly consider it actually. I had gotten most of the paperwork but in the end I couldn't give up being an American. I would have always stood out like a sore thumb....and possibly caused some politcal riots. I do riots all the time here, becasue it's my home and I'm allowed to upset it if i want. That would have been awful. I wouldn't want to cause trouble in someone else's home. So I stayed (I can still travel!). Because I'm an American. I did say I liked Twinkies!

It is an interesing experience to watch a man finish off a few pints then throw back seven or twelve shots of ouzo. Reach for you and try to roughly kiss you in his most 'manly' fanshion...TRY being the important word in that sentence. Accent aside, one can only hear so many curse words before it's not cute anymore.

P.S. I didn't give back the ring. I figured if i was going to cancel my World Cup tickets I was going to keep the ring.

While pubs can go for 24 hour opening, I don't think they have to; I think they can go for less than that, or not change their hours at all if they want.

I really don't think it'll make that much difference. Or maybe it's that I hope it won't....
