Maybe not, but if we could name our own beer might it be called Serenity?

Right, Serenity...
Helps you gain Serenity like no other beer can...

A: Kermit's undivided attention.

Well I was going to ask some nice fantasy/re-enactment types to teach me the olde craft of mead fermenting come autumn. Will surely give the first batch a Firefly name, if I ever get round to it.

My father used to brew his own beer, aparently it was very good, maybe I can coerce him in to starting again .

I used to have a neighbor that brewed his own beer and would proudly bring us mugs of his latest batch. I thought it was all quite nasty, but he was so proud of it. I'd sip it and try to think of something interesting to say about it and then dump the rest when he wasn't looking. It's hard to compliment a drink that tastes like gym socks.

Ow: gym socks. Must've been pretty harsh. My dad once gifted us with a case of his home-made mead but, mercifully, it was to take with us back to New York. I truthfully tried some, and it wasn't all that bad, just not my thing. It just gracefully disappeared.

Smooth and gentle. If I choose beauty and appearance

Hong Shun Rui

sharp and strong; if I choose mind and intelligence.

Hmm..I'm a regular yin and yang aren't I?

No precious tigers or bending willows for me.

Edited to say: I got one I like: Han Sheng Rou. It means "gentle voice." That's nice. Ths is fun.

too much to catch up on so summary:

Naming a beer - cool, I can top your photo with an anecdote. During a game of truth or dare one of the fools who chose a dare rather than lie had to down a pint through his sock - he was an american football player and huge. It was gross but very funny, ah, the heady days of youth.

Star Wreck is one of the funniest things ever but I must be an uber-geek because I kept thinking how cool it would be if it was an actual film. B5 would win every time. Loved the 'get the bastards out of the galaxy line' *titter*

My name in Chinese is:
rise, proud, dream, visionary, full, satisfied, love, pretty, peaceful, tranquil, wishful, kindness, mercy, desire, admire

Not really sure what any of that is meant to mean but there you go.

And last but by no means least Well done Rel Whoop Whoop!

Meaning bright, light, brilliant, clear, flat, smooth, and self-possessed.

But for personal character and skill I got

Zheng Mu Tan,

meaning long for, desire, admire, smooth, flat (huh?) and self-possessed (Is that like self-obsessed?)

B5 would win every time.

...grounds troops that are actually properly equipped and supported soldiers.

...warships with effective weapons.

...fleet tactics that extend outside the two dimensional model.

...leaders who will do Bad Things and make Hard Decisions to defeat a terrible foe.

...uniforms with pockets. Also, cooler uniforms, and better styled clothing generally.

Woo Becs!!

Hmmm, Klingon vs Narn...

Have to say Narn. They are much cooler than Klingons, if only because it seems Narns want to be things other than warriors. All Klingons seem to want to be warriors and nothing else. How in hell does their society work? And how could they possibly mirror Earth culture enough to produce Hamlet yet be as different as they are? Typical Trek stupidness.

Plus, Narn use swords that actually make sense. Y'know, straightish blade, sharp on one edge. Swing it around, stick it in someone. None of that daft batleth crap. What use is one of those things really?

Klingons would lose every time. Then Mal would shoot the Narn. Game over.
