Just got the Oct issue. Right, where to start:

First, there's a 4 star review (no spoilers), the final verdict being "Fans of Joss Whedon will love it and non-believers should also have fun. A seriously entertaining piece of sci-fi. A sequel wouldn't go amiss."

Readers of Total Film will be familiar with their "predicted interest curve", which charts the high & low points of the film (again, don't worry - nothing spoilerish and the film scores well on this too, with a consistent "Entertained/Thrilled" rating.

Next: a three page interview with Joss. Again no spoilers but some people might be disappointed that the article concentrates more on Joss than Serenity - and no, that doesn't mean Buffy & Angel. It's actually more about his previous film treatments, both real (Alien: Resurrection) and those on his wishlist (Return of the Jedi!).

Finally, this month's issue comes with a DVD of trailers, including Serenity. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, so afraid can't tell you which version it is, although assume its the international one.

Enjoy!

It might be a good thing from a marketing point of view. For non-fans it's probably worth letting them know that Joss has done more than a couple of TV shows that they never got round to watching.

"The cat talks?"
"The cat never shuts up."

I only skimmed in quickly but thought it was quite an interesting article - but am sure there will be some people disappointed that it didn't focus on Serenity. Excellent point though, although not sure bringing Alien into it will help sell the film....at least Joss admits it didn't quite work out right!

Still, a very nice suprise to come home to. Can't wait to watch the trailer on shiny DVD!
