I keep having flashbacks to last week's Arrested Development...

It's all a little disturbing. Shall return when we're back on to safe, cuddly things like chocolate! (What? Who says chocolate isn't cuddly?)

Back to normal AND on topic!

Good question about the chocolate sharing. If people get there relatively early on Friday, maybe we could do it before everythign kicks off?

I'll get there around 4:30 or so, depending oon the cheapest way i can get there.

Will head straight to the bar after checking in, assuming their is a bar we can use at that time - very strange place.

The problem with choco-tasting on the Friday is that Friday is catching up with friends time. Maybe Saturday afternoon or something when there is a lull?

Morning (for me) Randomites!

I'm so sad TLAP day is over. I was having so much fun.

And now you're all discussing plans and making sense and at least there's chocolate.

I'd eat a chocolate Ron. He's quite fit and he gives lovely hugs.

Morningness here, too.

Yesterday my wife came home from work with a list of top ten pirate pick-up lines, I think done by Dave Barry. Quite rude and funny.

"Hallelujah" is perhaps one of the coolest songs ever written, at least IMO.

I'm all for chocoday! At the front desk there's one of those fund-raiser boxes with big honkin' chocobars for a dollar each, and I'm twitchin' to go get me one.

I took all that chocolate I bought yesterday and hid it in the back of my closet. I can't have any till tomorrow. Because I have to go to the Dr tomorrow and he's going to weigh me and I have to weigh less than I did last month. And I will NOT if I eat chocolates today.

I am very tired of being on a diet.

Also, Spinny-your wife sounds like a blast.

It sucks how one's body won't just let ya indulge whatever ya want without consequences. That seem fair to you?

I envy my 17-year-old son, who can pull my old stunt of eating everything in sight and staying thin as a rail. Now I'm in the midst of battling middle-aged middle-spread, and some days I can tell I'm losing. *sigh* More miles on the bike and fewer treats, but it's hard to make the time for exercise when there always seems to be a ton of things going on to interfere.

Yeah, my wife is a real riot, a ball-buster of the highest caliber. Her whole family is acerbic and witty and you take your ego into your hands any time you weigh in on one of their "sessions." I dip my oar gingerly and mostly listen and laugh.

Genes are so unfair. My father & brother can eat what ever junk they like and stay skinny. The women in the family are less fortunate (she says, hastily hiding the bar of Galaxy...).

I see everyone's Team Random orders have been dispatched. I shall expect reports shortly! Unless you don't like them in which case, what do I care?

I'm expecting mine any day. It shipped over the weekend. Last time, my shirt came surprisingly quickly. Cafepress really does a good job, I think (with that exception of that one order of yours they botched.)

Genetics stink. My family's the same way, Hilary. The women are all short and VERY fat. But that's why I've been on this diet for so long. I'm raising my metabolism and getting down to a healthy weight so I'll be able to consume more calories and indulge myself occasionally and won't have to worry about ballooning. But it's just boooring and monotinous. And I'm sick of always feeling hungry.

In my case it's definitely health related. My family has a long history of heart disease; my dad is the first man of our lineage not to die of heart attack before age fifty. Now he's 64, but has had one mild attack and a mild stroke and has to take stringent restrictions of diet and exercise to keep himself going.

My doctor got tetchy with me when I started thickening around the middle, showed me the direct links to weight gain and all sorts of badness right in the zones where I'm genetically vulnerable--and he got my attention. I want to still be able to ride my mountain bike when I'm my dad's age, not have to walk a treadmill every day just to keep things pumping properly. Break the chain, and all that rot.

Ugh, the pictures of the Reavers in the VC. I couldn't look at them.

Spinny-ditto with the genetic health problems. Heart, arthritis, diabetes, thyroid, strokes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure. We got it all. And I don't want any of it. It's a good incentive to keep fit.

ok, the Netherlands has great beer, good chocolate (ignoring the lack of cadburys), fantastic licensing laws, great houses, but why on god's earth do they not have a health service? My free UK cover has run out and I am looking for cover here - no NHS! I have to pay a lot of money every month just to be sure i can go in an ambulance. God only knows what would happen if i fell pregnant (please no) - i haven't paid for that option. I suppose I'd have to move back to the UK cos I sure as hell couldn't afford the doctors bills!

Emma, for whatever it's worth that's the problem everyone faces here in the US. Health care coverage is ruttin' expensive, and more and more employers are reducing/dropping what they offer their employees because of the cost. An embarrassingly large percentage of the population has nothing at all to fall back on.
