I just got back from Serenity and I loved it! I went to the 4:00 showing the theater was only half full. Then I went to the 6:45 showing and the theater was almost full (and for Vermont this is saying something.) I’ve never gone to a movie more then once but I thought that it was important to show my support (and it was a really, really, really good movie!)

I have a few little complaints though; not that it wasn’t the bestest movie in the history of the whole universe but…

First Serenity (the ship) it looked old and like it was going to fall apart any minute (which it did, twice). Sure, Serenity in the TV show was old and falling apart, but it did it with love. I just didn’t fall in love the ship and neither if appeared had the crew.

Kaylee- besides having arguably the two best lines in the movie, she was not a compelling character. She was boy crazy! Did you notice what she was doing when the crew was robbing the vault? She was fixing her hair! Now TV Kaylee tried to look her best too, but not when there was work to be done. Her ship is falling apart and she’s doing her hair! She came across as so shallow.

Music- I miss the banjos

Western- I miss the horses

Mr. Universe- I know he was an important part of the plot but he doesn’t fit with my idea of the Firefly universe. He was wearing modern clothes and what was with the Lovebot?

Now don’t get the idea that I don’t like any changes (though Firefly was perfect so I don’t see the point of changing it) I did like the new Mule. It was kinda cool.

And (big spoiler) killing of Book and Wash? Brilliant! I mean I’m not glad they're gone but it was so moving.

Wait. I read the shooting script. What happened to the lesbian love scene? I'm a heterosexual girl and even I think that would have been hot!

And what about the Blue Handed guys? None of River's doctors had blue hands. I thought that was odd.

Besides that, I absolutely loved it (both time I saw it yesderday )! Cried my eyes out for probably the last third of the movie.

No power in the 'verse can stop me!

I have to say I missed the western aspect of it too. I thought the western feel made the show a bit "charming" Other than that I loved the movie and have "NO" complaints

(I want Jayne on the Red Wings, he'd kick butt.)
