I loved the movie, if I wasn't a poor teenager I'd go watch it again and again and AGAIN!! But I guess I'll just have to wait a few months until It comes to the $2 theater. The movie rocked my verse but left me with some questions.

Mal and Zoe always seem to be able to know when someone sending a message is setting a trap, look at Serenity the episode and in the movie where Inara sends them a message. They knew they were traps. So how come they didn't know that going to Mr. Universe was a trap?

Shepherd Book got a pretty good death scene. He got to take down an Alliance ship. Wash just gets shishkabobed...how come??

Where can I get one of those SWEET international posters? I thought the U.S. poster was cool until I saw the U.K. and Germany posters. eBay has like one regular U.K. poster and it's going for over $50. Can anyone help me out?

I have more but I think this post's gone on about long enough.

First, if you noticed they could tell cause they said something wierd, like on whitefall , she didn't haggle them down... thus... trap
and with inara they didn't argue... thus... trap..

and the Wash death scene... well he just landed the damn spaceship! i mean comon... its easier to kill shit then save it... and noone had died... from the landing of course..

and i wish i knew where to get the UK poster too

ZOE: ... They're going to see this coming.

MAL: No....They're not going to see the coming.

They knew it was a trap and brought some backup to deal with it.

They did know it was a trap. That's why they brought the reavers to the party.

Why did Wash die? Why indeed. Joss was probably going for ultra realism instead of the usual "go on without me speech." Call me a sheep but I would have prefered the later to the former even if it is uber cliched.

Okay, here's my question:

What was that shot that Simon gave Mal as they were arguing about River at the beginning?

Anti-Reaver immunization?

Mal-licious

I'm going to add cursing and the hurling about of things to my repertoire.

I've been thinking the same thing, Mal.

What was that...some kind of immunization.

I think the shot was just to reinforce the idea that Simon was, in fact, a REAL DOCTOR, not just someone dressed as one to rescue his sister- Since they didn't use him much in the movie in a doctorly role much beyond that, I think it was just a visual to make it stick in the viewer's memory-

I'm thinking the shot was some sort of stimulant to keep Mal WAY AWAKE during the robbery.

Or ... it reacts with heavy duty cotton to make the fabric weave grow tighter and tighter against the skin and *thunk*

What do you think Mal? I think Knibblet's hit it on the head.

On the official Serenity website, if you go to the infirmary and read the science blurbs, one says that Simon gives the crew immune-boosters when they go off ship to protect them from local germs. Makes sense, given that most of the places they go? Not high on the sanitation. So on one level, that little bit is an example of Joss having sooo much time to imagine the minutia of the 'verse. On another level, I agree with the idea that it also reinforces the "Simon is a doctor" concept for the newbies, and... come to think of it, is it the only time we even see the infirmary in the BDM? I think so, but since I've only seen the movie 5 times so far, I might have to go back to check.

*Sigh* Work, work, work...

See? Great minds think alike.

And the tight-pants theory is WAY more realistic than the immune-booster theory.

This is what it is referred to in the novelization, so that should be correct.
