New Convert to the Firefly World

Hey all,

I just heard about Firefly and Serenity 4 weeks ago and now having seen the movie twice, watched most of the episodes twice and having beat up trolls on IMDB who were talking crap about the movie, I decided I should probably join this site.

I should start off by saying I feel bad I never saw this show when it was on Fox, but am not surprised they killed it off. Fox makes horrible decisions frequently. A show like Firefly would have been allowed to mature on stations like UPN and WB where instant success is not necesarily a prereq. But I still wish I could have helped its initial ratings.

But, I'm here now and rate this my favorite sci-fi/action show of all time. The dialog could entertain me even if they didn't do anything else.

As for the movie, well, I'm telling everyone I know to go see it. I dragged my friend to see it today and while he's not as crazy in love with it as I am, he did like it a good deal. I hope word of mouth keeps attendence steady though I'm afraid its getting eaten up by the bigger pictures right now and am not optimistic on its chances. Maybe the brits can save it. They always liked us yanks cowboy image,

Twice in one day, incredible.

Anyway, it's always great to have a new convert and we're always happy to welcome another into the crowd.

I wish I had something more deep to say, but I don't. Do whatever you can to get people to see the movie, of course, but also remember that no matter what we may get in the future we have this now, so enjoy it.

Welcome, Jubellate, here's a brown coat for ya.

There's a ton of great stuff on this site, but having seen the movie you may really enjoy some of the threads like "Things heard in the audience", "Silent moments", and similar. I'll bet they'll remind you of details you've forgotten and maybe point out a few you missed.

If you read them before your next viewing, you'll appreciate the BDM even more.
