I was just thinking as both a Firefly fan and a comic nerd, I really enjoyed the three part Serenity mini. I almost wonder if Joss should consider an ongoing? I'll take my Firefly in any form I can get it, and Joss has shown he is a talented comic writer. He actually made me pick up an X-Men book for the first time since Morrison.

Anyway, just throwing it out there. I'm sure there's a market. The mini sold way better than Dark Horse was predicting. I'd definately buy an ongoing.

who knows? I think that speculation for Firefly/Serenity projects are sort of on hold right now for the people pulling the strings. I don't think we'll really know what's going on until we get the green or red light for a movie sequel.

I'm sure that it is a possibility, at least with Dark Horse. after all, they've got tons of Buffy and Angel related comics, not to mention Fray.

This would be a cool way to keep the 'Verse going. A lot cheaper to produce than movies or TV, and did we mention the comics freakin sold out this summer?

Dark Horse, you listening?

This doesn't suck as an idea.

It's a good way to keep the fan base alive too.

Remember when star trek was killed, some seriously geeky people had to keep it alive for ten years before they got their movie.

It's not going to be that bad for us, because it's Joss. I don't see why people don't just recognize Joss as a genius and let him do whatever he wants.

But alas. Anyway. I like this idea. I think that you could actually start this in a fan fic way.

I mean serious stories. All apochropha of course. The they would create material for future shows/movies to draw on.

You can't of course replace the show, because there are nine actors and oops, well you know what I mean, and about a thousand crew plus Joss, who all need jobs.

But it would be good fodder. Also, it's better as apochrypha beecause then you don't know what of it might really happen, or get expanded on.

Tacit approval or allowance from Joss is probably possible as long as it doesn't represent a copyright violation.

For those who aren't familliar with copyright law, a franchise is not legally allowed to allow copyright violations, if it does allow it, it loses its franchise, therefore, no one can let that happen. But fan fic is by and large tollerated.

No power in the 'verse can stop me.

I'd prefer for the stories to be cannonical, which probably would require Joss writing a detailed story outline at least, as he did for the three-issue mini-series. Non-cannonical stories are what screwed up professional Star Trek fiction for me both in and out of comics.

Cannonical storylines would be a great opportunity to cover the missing adventures between Objects in Space and Those Left Behind. (Title of the 3-issue comic story.) And it would help Joss keep the fan base satisfied until Wonder Woman is finished; even if Universal greenlights a Big Damn Sequel, he's committed to the WW project first, y'know.

Think about it. More cannonical Book and Wash, and all the little stories F*X cheated us out of...
