I am guessing that many browncoats have visited the site. But it is still impressive.

It is number one is popularity, meaning what movie is being visited on Box Office Mojo the most.

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/mostpopular.htm

It is also number one all time in how the registered Box Office Mojo visitors rank movies.

It is also number one in popularity for the last 7 days, for the week and for the month.

STARLET

Did anyone read the review associated with the site?? It was so crap, I am wondering if the reviewer actually watched the movie...

Don't let it put you down. He's just a crotchy old critic that's peeved that he can't create anything funny or impressive in print. So he takes it out on our cinematic crack. And besides, everything he know's is stupid.

I read the review Starlet. To love Firefly is to have seen it. This guy obviously hasn't seen it.

HOWEVER... (playing devil's advocate)...

That gorram'd heretical piece of bottomsludge only reviews movies. Can't love Serenity the way we do till you've seen the Firefly eps. That's just the butt-ugly truth.

Get the signal out. Lend out them frakkin DVDs and convert convert convert. It sells itself.

No such thing as gravity. The "Earth-that-was" just sucks.

I disagree. I know a few people who really liked Serenity who have never seen the series.

The idea that you would have to see the series in order to love the film would be a bad thing. Sure, it'd be great for the film to boost DVD sales and vice versa, but the movie must stand on its own. IMO, I think it does so quite well.

Sure, people who have seen the series will get more out of the film, but that shouldn't mean that the film must rely on the DVDs, and in no way should the series be a prerequisite for seeing the film.

It is obvious that the reviewer mentioned above has not seen the series; but that really shouldn't be taken into consideration for his review of the film. Not everyone is going to like a film.

I think too many people here read reviews through obsessed-fan-colored glasses.

Hi guys .. first post here :)

I have to comment about seeing the movie first. I saw it with some avid Firefly fans the first night it opened, and I'd never seen the series. I *LOVED* the film, and am now watching the DVDs of the series. I'm on episode 10.

Anyways, wish I'd found out about this show back when it needed more ratings :( I just don't watch that much TV. Well, cheers.

Welcome, welcome! Enjoy the rest of the series; my favorite ep is the last one, "Objects in Space."

If you want more, though, be sure to recommend Serenity to everyone you know. We're kinda on the bubble financially when it comes to greenlighting sequels, and every little bit helps.

Whatever happens, hope you'll stick around and discuss the 'verse with us.

Thanks, StakeTheLurk :)

Yep, I'm committed to spreading the Firefly love, I showed my buddy James the first ep of the series, and now he's going to see the movie with me this weekend. I'm talking with a couple friends at work about it too, so I think I can turn one new fan (me), into 5 or 6 more at least ;)

My experience so far is that people who didn't watch the series liked the movie more than those that have. This critter might do very well in DVD or even in it's last few weeks in the theatre. I wonder if an Oscar mention for effects or something even better might give it a few more sales.
