Wouldn't Morena make a great Wonder Woman?

She certainly looks the part. Anyone know if she's in the running?

I seriously doubt it considering I read somewhere on the net in an interview with Joss that Wonder Woman will be "younger" in the movie. So probably a 20 to 28 year old (the 28 year old that "looks" like a 22 year old). So yeah I doubt it, but yeah I agree, she looks the part, if he wrote the part older (not that she's old ^_^)

Morena looks younger than any of those choices.

Yeah, but does she look as athletic? Graceful, maybe , but could she be believable in the role? What about Summer ?

I like the idea of Gina as Wonderwoman.

Joss himself hinted strongly at one point (at a convention) that Morena was in the running, but I suspect she was always a dark horse, and that her chance was contingent upon "Serenity" making her a bigger star. I feel that Morena looks the part and could train her body, but that she probably lacks the star power to carry a superhero blockbuster.

It was Lynda Carter (TV's original Wonder Woman) who said in an interview that she'd like to see a very young successor, around 20. I guess that would depend on when the storyline begins in the movie, but I always thought the comic book Wonder Woman looked to be around early 30s. My bet is that they'll go with late 20s so that the actress is seasoned enough to carry the role of a wise and powerful woman, but young enough to do sequels. (By the way, just because someone listed those women's names on IMDB doesn't mean they're actually in the running. I seriously doubt Lucy Lawless is a consideration.)

I think Baccarin's agent gives her age as 26, but I have always believed that she plays older and probably /is/ older.(Most women in Hollywood don't tell the truth about their age, and I don't blame them.) I don't mean that as a slight; she is possibly the most gorgeous woman in Hollywood, in my opinion.

No offense, but Wonder Woman will be a very physical roll and I don't think Morena is the most physical of actresses.

It's a real pet peeve of mine when they get beautiful yet fragile women to play strong physical rolls. Sci-Fi series are chok full of beautiful women in strong rolls that have never played a single sport their entire lives, and it shows every time they have to do anything physical. Yuck! The women of Star Trek? Please.

You need an athlete in the roll of WW. I know Mila Jojovich is not right for Wonder Woman, but at least she is convincing at being physical. Even Angelina Jolie is fairly convincing at being physical. She's not right for the roll either though. Jennifer Garner isn't right for the roll either, but there again is a woman capable of being physical - she's an athlete, a black belt. I have no idea who Joss will cast, but lordy lordy if it's someone who can't be absolutely convincing in the middle of a fight then the movie will be cheesy. It seems to me that Joss is aware of this though, so I have some faith that he'll get it right. I hope...

I mean look at Summer (River) - he got that one right. She pulled it off quite well, being a dancer and all. Her fight scenes did look a little dancy at times, but really she got into it and they came off looking good. She could still learn how to hold a gun better, but that's a little thing.

I've never watched Buffy (although I'm about to start), but I'm guessing that Sarah does a decent job. Dunno, maybe I'm setting myself up for dissapointment. Hopefully not.

Maybe it's time for a new star to be born, although I doubt the studio will allow that - I think they'll demand an established name to help get people into the theatres. Ugh. I wish him the best of luck. It will be really easy for this to come off looking stupid. I think Joss is the man for the job though - he's a great choice for writer/director.

Let's get Linda Hamilton back into the shape she was in for T2 - now we're talking! OK, not really, but that's what I mean by an ass-kicking heroine. She's got to actually be physical. If Morena could get to that place physically then maybe she'd be great for the roll, but even if she did I think the studio would force Joss to get someone more established. Did I say "ugh"? Ugh.

I'm holding out hope though, 'cause it's Joss.

All this talk about Morena not being physically fit enough for the role is incredibly niave and silly. SMG did 7 years of physically demanding action scenes on Buffy, and she's not some super athlete. Did anyone expect little Amy Acker (Fred) to kick ass as demon goddess Illeria? Please! It's called acting people!

Morena is in incredible shape, and I'm sure with a few months of training, she would be more than ready to tackle the role of Wonder Woman. Bigger hurdles have been accomplished. The W Bros. managed to turn bean pole Keanu Reeves into an action star in The Matrix!!!! No small feat!!!

Some of you may be too young to remember, but when director Richard Donner cast Christopher Reeves as Superman, he was a scrawny soap opera actor. 6 weeks of training in the UK with body builder David Prowse (Darth Vader) and he was buff enough to play the role.

If Morena is the one Joss wants for the role, he should be allowed to cast her. Casting an relative unknown in the role makes sense. Leave the big star role for the villian.

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.
