I've been looking around for cosplay options, and haven't found much what ain't gorram expensive. If any of you have links or ideas or the like, I'd take it as a kindness if you'd share them with me.

Many thanks!

Goodwill, ARC thrift store, Salvation Army thrift stores....

You will end up finding a piece here and a piece there. Do not expect to get a whole costume in one shot. You might have to do a little bit of sewing, but if you can sew on a button, you should be able to sew a strip of bias tape down the seam of some tan pants for that Cpt Tightpants look :)

BELACGOD listen to the companion. To piece together a decent looking costume it's going to take a few tries. It should be really easy to find a red shirt and tan pants at a thrift store. The hardest part will be finding the coat probably. The rule about costuming usually is:

I want it now!
I want it cheep!
I want it to be perfect!

You only get 2 out of 3!!!!!! Pick carefully.

If you can't sew a stripe down your pants then look for somethng called Heat n' bond. It lets you stick one piece of fabric to the other and iron it down permanently. You can find it at any sewing store.

Holsters can be found on ebay for $5-$125.

Jason, here's my halloween costume.

My little Kaylee costume. It wasn't cheap and it took a good amount of work to put together, but it was all fun! =)

I still need to distress it a bit more and find a more suitable top to wear under the coveralls, but it turned out pretty good I think. =)

Eien! I love the Zoe costume!

You guys look great!

You even got Zoe's "look" down! Hee hee hee

Great patchwork Calistah...now you just need to do your hair like Kaylee did in the pilot and start carrying around a paper umbrella :)

Eien, Calistah, you guys are awesome!

I've been carefully going through and cataloguing everyone's outfits, so I was looking on with a critical eye, and you guys are so impressive. Eien, I'm especially impressed with how well you did Zoe's vest.

Early: Where'd she go?

Simon: I can't keep track of her when she's NOT incorporeally possessing a spaceship, don't look at me --

EngineAngel, I am not sure Calistah is still around. According to her profile, this was the first and last thing she posted...back in Nov of 2005.
I just finished a Kaylee outfit for the wife. I was not able to find a teddy bear patch I liked, so I made my own. If you are interested, I may be able to help; not looking to sell anything, but I do have paper drawings and close-up photos.
Let me know.

poplollies sells a Teddy Bear patch and
a hand-painted parasol. I just purchased Serenity Trading cards and Firefly trading cards from them recently.

Here is a thread on how to make your own Parasol.

Thanks! I found the applique on EBay but wasn't able to relocate it again after a quick search.

Looks like someone else posted a link that may work though. =)
