Starting my own Firefly movie... of sorts...

My brother stopped by with a game he wanted me to check out today called 'The Movies'. It's an average sorta game as far as games go. It follows along the lines of a Sims game, but with a little more depth and a lot more "play around" feel. When I first started playing it, I tried going on the "story" mode which was a lot of click this, micro-manage that going on and quit after a couple hours. Then I started thinking about what could be and started checking out what people were doing online with the proggie. After watching a couple player made films, I decided it might be a hoot to do a Firefly movie.

Well, after a bit of tinkering, I found that a LOT of the scenes and animations are locked. It appears the game is too new to download a save that is 100% complete (again, the game itself isn't very interesting to me). So, until I can grab a saved game, or I bully though it myself, I've decided to start making my very own 3D Firefly Avatars in the game. I thought some of you might get a hoot over what I've got so far, so here's a pic. Please don't think I did these in something like 3D Studio Max, because I'm not nearly that good =) There is a Star Maker proggie that comes with the game that allows you to tweak a 3D model decently enough without giving you full control. Some things are very detailed and somethings are not. Prime example of this is there are only six selectable hair colors... Six.

I have the game too. i had it since it first came out. I thought of doing a Fireflt/Serenity homage/prmotional movie. I am not very gifted at using starmaker though.

The game is really fun to play after you unlock most of the goodies and make your own movies.

Your charaters look pretty cool. There is a good likeness there except for Nathan Fillion.

Yeah, it's because there's no option to pull the eyes apart more. I'm looking at ways of fixing it so he looks better though. He was my first. I took a stab at Summer last night... It went, um, poorly =)

Looking for suggestions to make the above models better. Very much preferred if you know the limitations behind StarMaker (for 'The Movies'), but any keen eyes would be nice. Also, please understand I'm working with a limited proggie. I know these aren't perfect by any means, but hopefully they're close enough to tell who everyone is. Thanks in advance!

I have the game and have used starmaker a little. Here are my thoughts.

Change's Mal's eyes to the darker blue
Make his lips shorter
Brings his ears closer to his head
Bring his eyebrows closer to his eyes
Change his hair style. There is another one in the game that better suits him.
Make his noses thinner especially at the top near the eyes

River
Make her eyes smaller more Asianesque Make the fold more noticeable
Make her lips fuller but shorter
Bring her lips and nose a little bit closer together

Inara
Change her eye color to dark brown
Take the arch out of her eyebrows a little
Make her complexion a little darker (there is an option at the bottom of the screen when you are changing hair color and such)

Zoe just start over again. Use any face you want don't worry about the skin color because you can always change that later. The most important thing is to get her eyes and face shape. You can change everything else.

I hope this helps. You did a good job on everyone esp Kailie. I think River looks pretty good too.
