Just was wondering about the name Early in the episode Objects in Space. If his name was taken from the vice president of Fox Programming...if so, is makes so much sense, any ideas....

Found the name Early in the book Finding Serenity: with letters he wrote Joss Whedon about Firefly and so forth...interesting reading

Actually, if I remember it correctly, Jubal Early was a general in the American Civil War. And, if The Signal is right, an ancestor of one Nathan Fillion.

Jubal Early was a Confederate general in the Civil War, leading important attacks at Chancellorsville and later battles. If I hear correctly, it was Fillion's idea that the bounty hunter be named Early, as he is a descendent of the general.
