Okay, so no offense to "Surface" fans, but I thought "Threshold" was better written/more suspenseful, but it's getting axed while "Surface" is getting another season. In fact, CBS pulled a FOX and pulled it one week after shuffling the schedule and not advertising about the fact that they changed the day it would be aired on. So I'm wondering why shows like "Firefly" and "Threshold" don't get as many viewers as some other SciFi shows (i.e. "Surface" and "Invasion"). Anybody got any ideas? Or am I just like the only person who liked "Threshold" better than "Surface"?

Easy for me: It's on CBS and I just ain't old enough to watch CBS. I've never seen Threshold.

Could be I'm wrong, but I assume everything on CBS is written for the Geritol swilling crowd.

Threshold had the best pilot of the three new sci-fi shows (surface and Invasion being the other two), but things never developed past the pilot. Each episode was self contained and didn't advance the plot. Also the acting wasn't very good, especially Dutton and Dinklidge. The subject matter is for the 18-35 set, but like said above, CBS still films and produces it like all of their 35-64 aimed shows instead.

Surface may not be great, but at least things are happening and the story is progressing.

Invasion has easily turned out to be the best of the three, and that is still continuing

Ha! The age thing...that makes sense. I never thought about the fact that it was on a network that usually does shows for older age groups. I am still glad "Invasion" is on, but I was hoping that "Threshold" would continue, I thought maybe it was just building up to something. I agree the shows were kind of self contained.

You might want to look at NUMB3RS, Friday night at 9:00. David Krumholtz (Mr Universe) is one of the stars of the series, and while I'm much more a Rob Morrow Fan, there is a huge high school/college following of the show because of David.

I never watched Theshold, Surface or Invasion. The alien invastion everyone is gonna die plot line just didn't appeal; that and I got my fill of alien and government conspiracy stories with The X Files.

No, you weren't the only one who really liked Threshold. There are others here, too. I know Patsrule and I disagree, but I thought it was the best new show this season, and the biggest cancellation disappointment I had felt in several years.

There's a thread on it with interesting details here:

The topic of cancellations has been brought up before, but I personally don't believe it's because we're a small minority taste-wise. I think it's just because many of the shows (including Firefly and our BDM) don't get as much exposure. The comments in this thread seem to bear that out.
