Do you like fiefly, if you awnsere yes read on...

Things look bad, we have lost Fillian (atleast sort of) and Gina Torres sias we are done, but i dont think we are.

Who is firefly made for, in the end its made for us so we will go buy stuff. This show is MINE and YOURS we paid for it everytime we bought a coke or rented a movie at blockbuster. This show dies when we let it die

Why did fox cancel it becasue they thought nobody liked it, well if we sit here and bitch about how firefly is done and dont actualy do anything then we only prove their point. Remember for the networks to make money WE the buyer have to like the shows. They are there to please us. If we are big enouigh and loud enouigh they have to bring it back. The show will come back if WE want it to.

We know joss loves the show and would do anything he can to save it. The question is what are we going to do to save it. Work the problem people lets focus on what we DO have and what we do have is a show that is just... SHINEY

So any of you people who call yourselfs fans but are giving up the fight, well in my eyes your no better then the people at fox who canceled it in the first place. Its time we stop networks form humping our favorite shows

Stay fighting and we stay flying

Dear diary, Today I was pompous and my sister was crazy,
Today we where kidnapped my hill folk never to be seen again, it was the best day ever.

Dundee, I think you need to switch to Decaf. We did show Fox how much we liked the show. We showed EVERYONE how much we liked the show. We put out a full page variety ad that got noticed. The admission by the execs that they messed up the lineup and pre-emptions was in part due to our outrage.

Numerous people have noted our reaction, but Rome was not built in a day, and sacrifices are made to the folly of men. The fans want the show back, the creator wants the show back, the cast and crew want the show back, but there's no where on TV for them to go. That's the reason why the show is still up in the air, not because we didn't want it enough.

If you can come up with a plan to get the show back on the air, I'm with you. I won't do anything stupid or threatening though, that would defeat the purpose. We've done all that we can do as consumers, and now we are waiting for Joss et al. to think up the next step.

Gina says that the show won't be on TV. There are rumors about alternative venues, and I believe that when there are no more options, someone from ME will let us know that there are no more options. Please don't do anything rash that will ruin any progress that is being made.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

There was a thread over at the official site that was started by an "insider" going by the handle DB322 that knows Nola. She claims to have inside info that says Joss and crew are pitching Firefly as a movie.

According to some there, she has been a reliable source of info so far.

I am trying not get my hopes up, but it is hard not to grasp at straws when there isn't much in the way of hope.

Like you Dundee, I am a Browncoat. I will hold on until the last, and will only quit when Joss says he is done.

I'm not placing any faith in that rumor. The DB322 said that 2 other people knew him/her and when those people were asked, one said they didn't know him/her and the other thought they knew who it was but wasn't sure. Then s/he went ahead and deleted the first message that spilled the beans stating that it had confidential information that wasn't supposed to be leaked.

It sounds too fishy to be believable. Of course that rumor has gone on for a while now, and even Adam Baldwin hinted at something in his posts. I think I'd believe Adam Baldwin over someone that had never posted at the site before.

So I don't know what I did for your hopes or anything, but I thought I'd set the record a little less crooked before we have another wildfire on our hands.

FIREFLYPASSENGER

Dundee,

There is a thread at the Fox Forum title "Browncoats..."

Here is a link:

http://forums.prospero.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=foxfirefly&msg=6083
.14

Basically it is about keeping the spirit of the Browncoats alive. The following is the first post:

[Even if the show is over, does that mean we should stop doing charitable work? I mean, how cool would it be to have a charity organization/ charity worker people thinger in honor of Firefly?
We could have our own group, travelling the US and Canada, doing good wherever it needs to be done.

Take some metaphorical medical supplies to Whitefall, help the metaphorical mudders...

It could work.

And that would be cool.]

This would be a way of spreading Firefly awareness. It's taking action.

What do you think?

May Serenity Keep Flying.

2 things

1) decaf sucks

2) i am just sick to death of people complaining about oh upn didnt take it i give up, sci fi dindnt take it i give up. my cat wagged his tail so i give up.... ect ect ect

lets face it nothing is ever set in stone if we keep active we can bring this show back in one way or another. how meany series have been humped then came back. as long as joss is with us we have a chance.

All im saying is put your browncoat on sit down and wait for that miracle cure, and when it come you hit that red button as hard and as fast as you can. Hit that red button like there is no tomorow. its only a matter of time

Don't get me wrong, I agree that there is still a good fight to be fought. I just had read some threads on some other fansites that were a bit more aggressive, and they were thinking of some radical stuff to do, and it was kind of scary.

I just didn't want anything to happen that didn't show us to be the thoughtful, intelligent, people with disposable income *that we are.

No offense meant, just didn't want you going over the edge is all!

*that was a not so subtle hint to any advertisers that might have stumbled onto the thread.

STRAYCAT

Now here's the strange thing.

Intellectually, everything tells me that Firefly is dead, gone, no longer flying - that there is no hope.

My every instinct is saying the complete opposite - that Firefly will rise again...

And I'm not talking about the three unaired episodes (which, are you listening, Fox?, I want to see NOW, and having screwed up the show, the least you could do would be to give us what we haven't seen yet)

Firefly will be a success yet.

MISSFIREFLY

I love Firefly and I miss it. This is my first time on these boards. Most of the time I am on the official Fox Broadcasting Boards for Firefly. I hope others cross over between the two. There are some campaigns going on over on the Fox board. Maybe you already know about these, but if not, here's the info. There is a website for voting for tv programs to be made into DVD's. Everyone is voting there to try and put Firefly into the number one spot. (I believe the thread is called Vote for Firefly). Last I knew, it was number 13. Also, there is a campaign just starting to try and interest Merv Griffin in resurrecting the show. (Thread name, None ever thought of it or HIM). Will it work? I don't know, but it's worth a try. Someone stated he (Merv) has a possible connection to NBC where Nathan is now. And lastly, Fox still allows you to join the Firefly fan club. If you haven't done this, please do so. It will at least show Fox how many fans they have disappointed by cancelling the show and how many are still hoping it might, by some miracle, be saved. And I know everyone is still involved with a postcard campaign to Fox. I guess that's it. Keep flyin' Browncoats.

Sandy

Welcome MissFirefly! Hope to see you posting w/ us on a frequent basis.

Dundee, I and others feel the same frustration that you do. What we need to do though is approach the problem w/ logic and rational thought. We can't go off half cocked and ranting won't do any good.

What we need is to organize. Firefly:IA lead the way for a long time, but it seems the site is shutting down until Kiba gets something from someone inside ME. Shell did organize the Browncoat Drive, which I amongst others participated in. It got us some writeups in papers and a bit on the TV news. It may not seem like much, but every bit helps.

I think we should continue sending postcards to Fox to convince them to air the 3 unaired episodes and perhaps pick up Firefly as reruns during the summer season.

It seems that Gina Torres is now saying that there is something going on w/ Firefly:

http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=1535

Could be that hope is blooming for the show. All we have to do is keep the show in the spotlight by continuing activity on the boards by posting, finding news articles like the one above, and keeping our ear to the ground.

"May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one."

Anyone interested in taking the next two months to plan a big Earth Day clean up? Any other ideas for volunteer stuff we can do?

I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me.

An Earth Day clean up is a good idea, if we could get a good turn out for it. Earth Day is April 22nd, a Tuesday. May be hard w/ work or school to get a good level of participation, but it is a good suggestion.

Here is a link to the Earth Day site for any who may be interested:

http://www.earthday.net/

I will send an email to Shell to see what she thinks.
