Any other UK fans think it to be hugely annoying that we have to wait til Feb 27 for the dvd. Looks like im gonna have to get the region 1 imported then buy the region 2 when its released.

Have you a multi-region DVD?

Its a shame I haven't. Anyway, hopefully they can change that bloody boxart to something more appealing. First of all, show us River Tam, not Summer Glau (They glorified her till she looks nothing like River on the art)

Anyone who mentions Shakespeare will get a .50 in their ass

Well, we're getting lots of bonus extra features and undoubtably a different cover too (probably with "The Number 1 Box Office Hit!" on it)

Best things come and all that.

I have multi region and have just put a request into the beloved for a region 1 copy. I can forgive the cover as long as I have the movie for crimbo.

As for the UK extras , well I will probably get another copy when its out here as long as it has lots of extra goodies. I could do without 'The Number 1 Box Office Hit' quote but I know where you're coming from SimonWho.

It has to be the most successful in 3 days to be a box office hit doesn't it. Just asking because it was number 1 for 3 days (for the 3 days it was showing here anyway)

Just log onto www.amazon.com and it seems to happen quite quickly. I've already had the shipping confirmation that it'll be sent on the bizarrely dated 12/20/2005.

I find that often the mailing box turns up from a Dutch or German (non-filth merchant) subsidiary thingy.

American Amazon.com are doing it for a ridiculous $16 US or something, which makes me weep, as usually new release UK DVDs are about £17 or £18 (get busy with the calculators, you'll be shocked...) in the shops. Bloody criminal.

However, there is a good chance that UK Revenue and Customs might make you pay VAT / import duty on the DVD. I've not experienced it yet, but if you get a strange note with the parcel, that might be it.

I've had that problem when I've ordered boxsets from Amazon.com of late - so I've stopped doing it

I believe if the item cost more than $18, they charge you extra in customs. I had to pay £8.50 for picking up a parcel

www.playusa.com is another source of region one DVDs.

I've got a multiregion player but I'm going to wait for the region 2 DVD anyway because our PAL TV format is higher resolution than the US's NTSC format.

I expect we're having to wait a long time because the DVD will also be for several european countries which got the film in the cinema much later than us.
