Thanks Andy!
And thank you, Summer! It almost breaks my heart to hear how special she, and all the actors who were involved in Firefly felt it was.
Not fair that it was yanked away from them. :(

Why does the official site have a UK adress on it?

It looks like it's a UK Summer Glau fansite. Not her own site although she may approve it and therefore it can say "official"?

The site originated as a fan site as I was a friend of Summer's after working with her on her first trip to the UK. She didn't have an official site and so the site was used to become Summer's official site. The address with a .com was already taken so we used the easiest one for us.

This is actually Summer's official site and is subject to a contractual obligation, that is why we only use official items on the site. We cannot simply surf the web and pull content from other sources without both the permission of the copyright holder and Summer herself.

Summer is a big fan of the site and provides us with material whenever she is free and able.

Hell yeah! You're a friend of Summer's? That ROX man. You should tell her to get on here sometime just to say hey (if she hasn't already...I'm still a nube). That would be totally shiny!!

We love you Summer!

Very cool! Thanks for the link.

I'm so excited! Summer has similar tastes with me when it comes to music. I'm not a big Tango/Latin fan, but I love Keane, The White Stripes, The Killers and Fiona Apple, all of whom Summer mentioned.

That was such a fun interview. Thank you!

It’s a Sci-fi/Comedy .It’s hilarious – I laughed my guts out during the movie! I play a normal teenage girl, which is nice! I play a really cool teenage girl whose father is a palaeontologist who works in a mammoth exhibit at a museum in Louisiana. It’s a very very funny film. We shot it in Romania and it’s going to be great. It’s going to be shown on the Sci-Fi channel. The director Tim Cox was awesome and the cast was wonderful to work with.

Romania! Cool! *is oddly fascinated by Romania* And... I've just SO gotta see that one.

During autographing at the first Serenity I got to speak with the actors briefly. All were nice but Summer and Ron seemed to be the kindest to everyone. Some fen can be kinda tough to deal with but they did it with honest tenderness. This was even after a grueling night and session the day before.

Ahh. Thank the stars. There is a .uk version of Summer's website. Her "official" website? Summerglau.com has obviously been overtaken by stalker fans. Stop it! You scifi guys and your obsession with stalkerism. It must stop!

Or, maybe summerglau.com just lying there in waiting. Thank the heavens for .uk. Her future greatness is thankfully in the hands of a close personal friend who promotes her UK site.

Call me sick, but I so desperately look forward to the .com version of her web site (assuming it can be rescued from the clutches of some stalker scifi fan). So, whichever stalker owns it please post "Jodi Foster-like" love letters there and be pronounced a lunatic. It would make her marketing value go up (the press it would generate would be off the charts). Assuming a stalker owns it.

Everytime I think I like someone in the acting world, I find some calculated bit of nonsense that smashes it for me.

Doesn't much matter... she's too busy to bother reading forums(?). The pressures of success. We have another star in the making, and her "people" are the only ones who can be troubled with such nonsense.

The .uk site is very nice.

ya but who has legal rights to the .com version of her name?

why surely.. it couldn't be marketing people. no, absolutely not. it just isn't time to market the .com thing.

well, it could be stalkers.

madonna.com was a perfect example of such stalkerism. silly catholics trying to hijack her likeness. i'm atheist so i can say what i think.

The .com version of the site is owned by Summer's family but its kinda locked up and unavailable. I won't go into any more detail cos I don't know the full story but it wasn't available at the time I set up the UK site (as a fan site originally).

We are looking into ways of freeing it up at present. But it hasn't stopped people finding the official site through Google etc.

There is another fantastic site at summer-glau.com which is a fan site that sometimes gets mistaken for an official site too. Its worth a visit there if you haven't already tried it. The guy who runs it (Mark) and I get on very well and enjoy having two very different sites to help promote Summer and her blossoming career.

I've gotten in touch with my inner-greatmanchild. It's all very zen. Your words of calmitude have set the world right again.

Lemme go peek at her IMDB profile (since they are the absolute authority, masterhijackers of google search engine relevancy). And no, it has nothing to do with marketing dollars when zen is involved. I rejoice in reading about her humble beginnings. Private ballerina... umm... private... did I mention ballerina? She was a mystery to me till I saw the .uk site and suddenly all was illuminated.

How do people like this end up in scifi?

nice people machinegun the marketing vampires who tell them what to do.

summer has a built-in fanbase. she can go with them, or listen to the toady bastards telling "her" what to do.

phony ain't the stairway to heaven. if her ballerina feet decide to stop dancing in the clouds and touch base with the real fans, she'll go far in the acting industry. hell, whedon made her supreme-asskicker in a film franchise that could make her great.

i don't even believe you are who you say you are.

at long last I have finally figured out who you are Haze.

space alien maybe? sent by the alien high council to figure out the why of it?

why did whedon refuse laytex aliens? this must stop immediately. scifi w/out laytex aliens ain't scifi. silly humans. damn you alien oppressors! we're onto you!

i reemphasize that. (!). plus an extra helping of !!!.

tell summer to get acting jobs at scifi channel. tell her not to appear on the titanic of scifi, "BSG" (unless she is ready to sell out for a paycheck). it's a career killing stinkbomb. sackhoff and the asian (?) chick will make it out, but all the rest are doomed. too damned hawt! (marketing is everything).

maybe summer could read some scifi books that haven't been made into movies, and find a role up her alley. find her niche, and pitch it? or have it pitched? everyone who loved her as river tam is waiting for her next debut. hoping scifi, but expecting any one of the below.

maybe.

she could try for a position in any one a zillion lawyer, doctor, night-soap, or cop shows. we need more of those. please, we need more of that. just ain't enough.

she bit into the scifi apple and better keep eating. it's an addictive piece of fruit. and there ain't no going back. once you go scifi, say goodbye to the rest of your roles. no going back.

ask shatner, nimoy, mark hamill, etc.

xg

life loved by a handful of devoted fans is probably a good thing. abandon them and they become your worst critics.

ps - when have I ever accused her of being bad to her fans?

Or we can ask Harrison Ford, Will Smith, Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson, Johnny Depp, Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson, Jack Nicholson, etc.

Outta curiosity, why the anger? I've been reading through the thread and it seems you're upset, but I can't quite catch what set it off. Is there a way we can find resolution here?

Hiya RELFEXIVE. You any relation to "Reflexive"?

The resemblance is so insanely similar. I'm not knocking Reflexive but for all I know you could be (1) Reflexive's XG-hating altar ego" or (2) a cheap copy trying to smear that person's name. Or (3) Reflexive hating my guts and hiding behind a misspelled alias. Doubtful. I'm dying to get to the bottom of this...

I have an eye for detail and would have caught that misspelling a long time ago as many times as I've seen that Reflexive post. It's this weird semi-photographic memory problem I have.

You calling me a troll is an issue I can't address. I can't address it till I am certain of who it is that calls me a troll.

I will wait to hear your response, and then I'll personnaly PM "REFLEXIVE". Just in case.

My real questions are so way off the topic at this point, but what is it with some of you?

You claim you love FF, yet any slight criticism against it (or the "people" associated with it) is met with mindless assaults against the critic. Guess you never heard the phrase "cutting off your own nose to smite your own face". Go watch WW (Wonderwoman) and piss off already. You are sooooo devoted!

Let Summer piss away her scifi capital. She needs to round out her acting resume with all kinds of different roles (non-scifi roles). Her big break was scifi psychic kungfu chick in FF/Serenity. Not good enough apparently. Ahh the acting world is filled with people who get a break, and then piss it away because they want to be "well rounded". Scifi is beneath her. Could care less.

Ahh those poor redshirt ensigns who would beam down to the planet in every episode of the original "Star Trek". Each one of them were a Harrison Ford waiting to happen.

Actually a take back the spelling issue. I'll be damned. You do spell your name "relfexive". Didn't catch that till I went back and doublechecked (and the literal meaning of the properly spelled version of the name is very telling).

It was only an opinion. A question, in point of fact. Typically, a post like that one of yours is indicative of trollish behaviour.

If it is not, then clearly I am mistaken.
