I'm gonna make this short. Your all probably feeling the same way. Our big damn dvd drops on the 20th. I'm worried about the hollow feeling that comes when a collection of something is complete. Is there a 12 step program somewhere in the Philadelphia area that I can attend, on the 21st when I've seen Serenity for the 18th time? .... I need a hug

... Hey, I'm going through withdrawal right now

... Just watched my last ep of the series, "Objects in Space" . . . and that's basically it. (sure there's a movie, but that won't be here in Japan for at least a year, if it ever comes)..

... I'm sitting here thinking, "What the hell am I gonna' do tomorrow after work?"

What he said...

Watch them again. Watch them again with the commentary track (for those eps that have commentary). Watch them again with the subtitles on to pick up details of the script you missed (and to spot the sometimes funny errors in the subtitles). Then watch them again and soak up just how awesome this series was in so many ways.

You'll be surprised how much more you'll get out of Firefly after your first viewing is long forgotten.

Then there are the comics, the River Tam sessions, the Visual Companion, the "Finding Serenity" book -- assuming you can get copies there. I'd say you're still a long way from withdrawl!

Ain't about you, Jayne. It's about what they need.

Plus, the set's not complete yet.

Not until we get word on the sudden but inevitable sequel. Possibly not even then.

Same thought here. I just discovered this great show a few weeks ago. Got the DVD set on a blind buy recomendation from a forum thread about DVD's and fell in love with it.

Will be picking up the DVD on the 20th, and then join all the rest of you in hoping for more.

Oh yeah, and... Damn you FOX!!!

A Browncoat's work is not done until everyone they know has been introduced to Firefly! ;)

Then you could try Serenity role-playing, writing fan-fic, hosting shindigs, etc.

After that, you can check out Buffy and Angel if you haven't already.

And then after that you can follow Joss's next project. I can't wait until we hear more about "Goners"...

Have seen the BDM twice, all the episodes several times, own the Visual Companion, Finding Serenity, the RPG book (for my daughter but lots of additional info there), and have the graphic novel on order and I still have to see one episode at least every other day or I go into severe withdrawl.

I gave in tonight and ordered the soundtrack to Firefly. I put it on 2 day delivery so I'll get my fix the first part of next week.

Hold on and stay shiny... here's a link to an extra episode, the one that got written but unfilmed... one of the major planks to help span the divide between what you have seen and what will come to be... "come to be" in the sense of when TPTB get their act together and more Firefly is made... here's an ep of Firefly that you can read and "see" and "hear" in your minds eye... and ear:

Dunno about you but I hear it in 5.1

I have almost all of the above, plus already own the soundtrack to Firefly and Serenity and....
I'm watching " The Message" on my computer as I type this!

I can't go hardly a day without seeing an episode.
This is the most addictive thing I've ever run into!

I'm such a dope.... I have it all planed out. I work at the Plaza in King Of Prussia. (Big Damn Mall) I'm gonna run over to Best Buy on my 10 O'Clock break Pick it up On widescreen and UMD. Maybe watch it on my PSP in the break room. I'm a big damn addict.

WORKWORKWORK

I've been in withdrawal since I last saw the BDM about two weeks ago. Some things I've been doing to get by:

- Watching the DVDs again with and without commentary
- Reading fanfic (there's some really good stories out there!)
- Watching fan vids
- Composing my own fan vid/fanfic
- Coming up with my list of "Best teasers to convert non-fans who don't have enough time to watch an entire episode". So far, my list is:
"The Train Job" - Classic bar fight
"Shindig" - Just love those bar fights
"Bushwacked" - the Calvinball game that leads into the mystery
of the derelict ship
"Ariel" - We get to see the whole crew interacting, plus some choice Simon/Jayne moments ("Can you not do that when we're .... ever?!?")
"The Message" - Once again, whole crew interaction, Jayne and his cunning hat, Kaylee/Simon, Mal/Inara, a quick snapshot of the mixed-culture future society.

I've also been collecting official trailers and clips from the movie off of the Web. I'm proud to say I have three copies of the international trailer: English and dubbed into Italian and German.

I'm busy converting folks at work. I'm a teacher so I use FF episodes as a reward for working hard and getting ahead of schedule. (I connect the laptop into the overhead projector and a pair of powered speakers so we can watch on the 'big screen')

I'm still feeling the itch, though.

Compulsive? ME?

Well, yes, actually.
