I'd much rather have more TV episodes. What do you vote for?

If I had to choose between the two, I'd choose
more TV -simply for the fact there would end up being MORE total hours of story...

"No, Cap'n, I think it's shiny!"--Kaylee, o'course.
"Yeah, but she's our witch, so cut her the hell down." --Mal in "Safe."
"Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a boat in the air you don't love, she'll shake you off as sure as the turning of worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughtta fall down, tells ya she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home." -- in "Serenity" My all-time fav quote. Love it!

There was a poll on the main part of this site recently that asked the same question. The VAST majority of people (over 75 percent) voted for a new TV series.

From what I've seen, even the people who vote for a movie instead say they'd prefer a TV series but "that will never happen so I'll take what I can get." Then they have a sig that says something to the effect of "we can do anything." Selective optimism, I guess?

Definately TV show (if the main cast stays the same I might add).

It has much more to offer for both the writer and the audience. You can work with cliffhangers, timeframes, bottle shows* (I love those), long story arcs and full scale character development.

Well, do the math (each episode was approx $2 million I believe)...

$40 million = 2 hour movie or 20 x 1 hour episodes?

I'd rather see the 20 episodes myself.

You're right about that dc4bs, but remember how expensive "Serenity (The Pilot)" was? It was estimated to be worth about $12 million dollars to produce. And you can't forget that actors need to be paid, and different episodes cost more than others.

Personally I would love to see more of Firefly ANYWHERE. Be it comics, novels, miniseries, TV show, or movies. I would love to see more episodes of course, but next to that, it would be movies or comics (anything on a regular basis).

TV for the above reasons, and so we can have more of the background characters.

Id take a continuation in any form i can get, but preferably filmed. its just not the same without the actors delivering the lines etc.

12 for the pilot?

I thought it was more like 5... ok, call it 10 cause a lot of the ideas are already worked out now... and it's a nice round number.

So 10m for a 2 hour anti-pilot for our anti-heroes.
2.5m each for 12, 1 hour episodes. Almost doubles what we have now.

Well, tv shows reuse sets and props while movies just throw all that stuff in the dump after they finish filming which is one of the reasons why tv show pilots are much more expensive than the average episode.

Well, isnt the pilot expencive because you have to build every gorram thing?

So in a stricted sense, those costs should be devided over all the episodes. But they are only taken in consideration for the first pilot.

So really, it wasnt that expensive. Shiny :)

Well judging by other threads the movie has sparked big sales for the TV series. So another movie might generate even bigger TV sales. Which might well start off the TV franchise again. So gimmie both !!!
