Obviously everyone here would appreciate any continuation of firefly, but I'm wandering what would be ideal for you.

For me it would be to finish off the first series and fill in gaps between before the film, and a second series which is set after the film. I thought serenity was very good but firefly blew me away.

In a perfect world I'd be on the ship itself, but seeing as how that's not keen to happen any time soon....I would be happy with any medium just so long as the story gets out there. I would prefer TV and Movie though.

Ah, I was just thinking the same thing. Never had a tv show where I wanted to be there before.
But I truly would want to be there....

My perfect wish for a continuation would be a series, but I'll take whatever I can get. I like books, etc. But the actors doing it pleases me more so movies,tv movies,whatever... I'll be there watching!

Are ya all out your minds?
Be there?
With a merc who'd as soon sell ya as look at ya?

A captain that's gettin ya shot at or into fights every time you try to take a deep breath?

On a ship that's usually out of food or fuel, or both? That's held together by bailing wire and one genius mechanic?

Flown by a pilot who said, and I quote, "This kind of flyin' really wakes up a guy!" Pilots and awake good, right?

Do you really want to take your life out of your own hands in such an insane manner?

Oh... yah.. sounds great. Just shiny!

I'm in!!!!!!!!!

As for my preference, we need another Season of Firefly. Hands down.

Tsk tsk! You go hang around the infermary. I'd LIVE in Inaras shuttle

On the other question; I agree. Complete season 1 (before movie), and make season 2 (after movie)

Jayne: All those years of preacher training, getting knocked out by one bounty hunter
Book: Oh, dont get me wrong. I gave him a hell of a fight
Jayne: Epic i'm guessing

i would like to live on that ship though, come to think of it. they wouldn't even have to give me my own bunk. i'd just share jayne's.

Ok in a perfect world I'd be on the ship, preferably as Jayne's love interest, mmmm I do love that boy...

But as that won't happen any where other than in my dreams, or possibly my fanfic, I would have to agree with dingdong7 I'd want a finish to season 1 and a second season set before the movie.

In a perfect world...

Season one gets finished up. I'd imagine the episodes of Inara and Book leaving would wrench the heart right out and step on it a few times over.

Next would be a TV movie sequel to Serenity, promptly followed by a return of the show. The show then runs about three or four more seasons, gets all the loose ends tied up, then goes out with a bang.

Finally, a farewell movie to the series. Just sort of goes around to show where the characters are some time after the finale, brings them back together for this movie, then they all part ways at the end.

(And just a side-note to this last part, a few of things I can personally see happening after the big finish:
* Simon and Kaylee married, with a kid or two, and settled in some quiet town where Simon lives under an alias but still does his doctoring while Kaylee rebuilds the occasional engine.

* Jayne and River are partners in crime, doing jobs for whoever pays the highest, and nursing along a little romance of their own. Who but River can really get Jayne and understand him on deeper levels? Jayne contemplates getting his own ship and forming his own crew, so he and River work toward that goal.

* Zoe's remarried to somebody and settled down, while Mal lives within walking distance of her and her family. He's still carrying a torch for Inara, but she's gone, her life taking her in a different direction...their lives could never truly mesh...but his faith in God is restored.)

Looks like I'll have to add to what I posted earlier...

With all you girls ready to fight over who gets Jayne, then in my perfect world I would be Jayne!

Ladies ready to fight for my affections, being on a ship with the likes of Summer, Jewel, and Morenna already, having cool adventures in the meantime...Jayne's got it made!

My Bro just picked up the Serenity role-playing game last weekend, and we jokingly argued over who got to play as Jayne for the game. Hell, after reading this thread, I'd be willing to fight him to play as Jayne now!

Well those facts as well as a few others I've prolbably forgotten and of course let's not forget, that he is so totally hot!

i've said it before and i'll say it again; although jayne is incredibly hot (his arms are so big!) it's that fact that i wouldn't have to talk to him about my feelings in the morning that made my jayne conversion complete. i was watching firefly thinking, "he's a good-looking guy. kinda stupid, but that's ok." but it was "that's why i don't kiss 'em on the mouth" that worked for me. i don't know why, it just works.
and the big knife worked for me too.

Ohhhh You know what I think you're just great!
Maybe we should call it like "Jaynefest" or something and then we could make it a whole carnival of Jayne-related activities!
And the wrestling could be the highlight! I'm sure Adam would judge, maybe Joss would let him dig Vera out of the prop box and we can have that as a trophy??

mmmm Jayne and Vera- I think my brain would overload.

I have to admit he had me at the non-emotional involvement too. I agree with the knife, even if I am more of a gun girl, and the non kissing on the mouth, it's so simple and straight down the line. I am a true sucker for a bad-boy, even though I don't think he's really bad just misunderstood

Okay...let me reiterate my original statement then. I like Jayne for the same reasons you ladies do...all except for the carnal stuff. Heck, even Zoe's a tad too butch for me (I'm more a River or Kaylee man), so Jayne doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of me finding him "hot". *lol*

I do however find it interesting and pretty dang cool that you ladies like Jayne for his being a "take no crap", "rough around the edges" kind of guy. It's those attributes that made me think for so long that he was a character meant to appeal to the guys...that is, he gets away with doing and saying things and behaving in ways us guys can only wish we could get away with sometimes in the real world.

Zoe (Torres) is soooooo sexy. The leather pants ... zomg ...

Inara's pretty straight too (has that same look as Teri Hatcher from her superman TV series days), but I haven't been able to judge much of her from the neck down with all the heavy "asian-type" decorative garments.

... and ... isn't Kaylee scripted as the butch-character :o)
Of course, she doesn't have the look (other than the grime smears), but other than that, I think she's supposed to be pretty tom-boyish

To the Original Poster though, in a perfect world, I'd be watching the newest episode right after I finish this and 30 years from now they'll be able to download my brain so that I'm immortalized long enough to be on the Firefly ship. You'd all see me in Season 2 of Firefly as the sarcastic, witty Interactive Computer System (Andromeda-style)! Maybe, as the last thing I do before being destroyed, I even aided slightly in the elimination of Wash for standing in the way of my digi-lust for Zoe :oP

Zoe's one hot mama...make no mistake. Gina Torres is a very pretty lady. I'm just saying that Zoe's character is too "manly" for me to get all ga-ga over her. She did look pretty dang hot at the end of the "War Stories" episode when she was fixing Wash some soup though...her hair all down...Wash slapping her ass as they leave the room and her letting him get away with it...she stirred me then!

As for Kaylee being a tomboy, I may be in a minority, but I tend to seperate "tomboyishness" from "butch behavior". I don't see anything wrong in girls taking interest in what are predominantly guy things...such as working on mechanical stuff...and still retaining their femininity. I kinda' think Kaylee was meant to be "that girl next door" kind of character instead...not intimidating and who you can pal around with and love like a sister, and if you're not careful fall head over heels for when you realize the kind of Aphrodite she truly is, and you've been unaware of it for so long...

Didn't Jewel Staite say somewhere that she had to gain 20 lbs to better look the part?

In a perfect world...

Serenity would have never needed to be made 'cause the show would have continued into what would it be now? 4'th maybe 5'th season...? Thus there would be no need to kill off Wash and Book...The movie was AMAZING don't get me wrong, but I mean it leaves it pretty closed as far as bringing back those characters in the future if and when Firefly was to come back to TV. They could finish season one and then go into season two post Serenity as some people have suggested but I mean no wise crackin Wash? No inspirational messages? Something would be lacking and I doubt the replacements would be able to match the caliber of the original characters. What do you guys think?

And as far as I'm concerned about living on Serenity itself...yeah I'd be up for that I actually had a dream about it the other night, after I finished watching the whole first season. For anyone who cares I was makin out with Kaylee in the engine room when the ship was attacked by Reevers and I went flyin on one of those backboard things (the ones on wheels I donno what they're called) into a wall. Then I heard Mal call for Kaylee over the intercom as Wash took evasive action...::sigh:: I woke up before I could tell if we got away or not...too short I think but exciting nonetheless.

Anyway yeah that dream woulda been real in a perfect world.

Pardon me, ladies, for this interruption back to the topic...

Ooh! Ooh! I know what I'd like to see: I'd like to see a role-playing game for the PC -- youse console guys are on your own -- similar to Lucas Arts' "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" I & II. That's one way to actually (well, 'virtually') get aboard Serenity, do a little transport for hire, a little crime, and a little time with our favorite sp'whore (or captain, doctor, mechanic, amazon, mercenary, etc.).

I've been begging the universe for just such an occurrence for months now. I think us Browncoats'd buy a few copies of that, n'est-ce pas? It would be possible for VU Games to make some serious jack from a property their parent company holds some rights to.

And then, who knows? Maybe we could get a sequel made, on the basis of being a movie based on a successful game franchise: like Doom or Resident Evil, or Blood Rayne, or...

(Massively Multiplayer Online) Role Playingly,

zoid

P.S.
VU Games is a wholly owned subsidiary of Vivendi-Universal, which also owns Universal Pictures, NBC TV and the SciFi Channel. Get my drift? VU Games produced the excellent "Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher's Bay" for the PC and consoles last year, along with other titles from various genres (nice racers), so they could definitely do the job right. Why isn't anyone at VU thinking about the windfall a Firefly-based game would produce?
